Timo is the man!! My car had been giving me trouble for about two weeks before a friend recommended…read moreTimo's auto repair for all my car needs. My friend also has a foreign car like myself and said that Timo's wonderful team of professionals are experts for all types of vehicles but with a slight specialization in foreign cars. It's very hard for me to just trust any mechanic with my car just because that's my baby and I always feel like no one will take care or love my vehicle like I will. Although it was a long ride from my home, the car ride was worth it as soon as I met Timo. He immediately diagnosed my car and said I needed to replace/fix my MAP Pressure sensor, thermostat, water pump and sway bar link. Imagine all the dollar signs that flashes before my eyes! Just kidding, he was actually very reasonably priced. Timo also sat down with me and explained the cost of each part to repair and also how much the labor would cost. He also advised me to compare prices but as I previously mentioned, peace of mind is very important to me and knowing that my car is in good and trustworthy hands, I decided to just go ahead and have him repair my vehicle. I really appreciated that he told me right away what was wrong, no beating around the bush and saying it might be this or it might be that, as previous mechanics have advised me. Due to the fact that my car is a BMW, Timo told me in advance that it may take about a week to repair my car because he needed to order specific parts that not every parts shop has. Timo sent me status updates here and there and most importantly, he answered his phone when I called him! A week later, I got my car back and it drives like brand new and I couldnt ask for a more reasonable price! Two weeks after my repair, I was involved in a car accident and my car was towed to Timo's for repairs yet again. Timo's team looked at the damage on my car, sent an estimate of repair to my insurance and kept me posted on the status of my car at all times. This time the exterior of the car was significantly impacted and some damage to the engine but Timo worked very diligently to get it repaired as quickly as possible. He kept in touch with the insurance companies in regards to the estimate of repairs so that I didn't have to. Honestly, this was such a relief because I didn't have to go back and forth between the two. Due to the fact that insurance companies were involved and specific foreign parts had to be ordered, it took about two weeks for my car to be fixed. However, I went into the repair process knowing that it would take longer this time around since payment for the repairs wasn't not dependent on me but the insurance company. For all your car needs, regardless if it's an American or foreign car- Timo's team of trained professionals is your one stop shop for all your car neeeds. He has over 15 years of experience in high end service and knows exactly what hes doing. Would recommend Timo and his entire staff for all your automotive needs!

CAUTION: Don't Bring Your Car Here!!!…read more I went to Tuffy in Glendale Heights to get the power steering line on my 2006 Volvo XC90 fixed, and they told me that in order for my car to run well, I needed several additional services: - Diagnostic Testing: $135.00 - Remove & Replace Spark Plugs: $405.56 - Power Steering Fluid Service: $246.85 - Emission Test at IL EPA: $89.00 - Front Disc Brake Service: $555.45 - Rear Disc Brake Service: $480.63 - Remove & Replace Drive Belt (Accessory/Serpentine): $220.64 - Remove & Replace Power Steering Line: $1,147.14 - Remove & Replace PCV Valve: $738.87 Despite paying $4,000 for all these services, they had my car for an entire month and still failed the emissions test, which never passed. I remained in a persistent cycle of having to call them for updates, each time hearing empty promises and new problems that led to further ballooning bills. Once my vehicle was finally returned, relief was short-lived. Within a week, the car began to shake and I had no choice but to return it to Tuffy. Three days went by before they finally called me to only to inform me of an "undetected" engine issue they failed to see initially. Shockingly, rather than fixing my car, they tried to pawn off another vehicle, which turned out to be a lemon--a blatant attempt to sweep their oversight under the rug and offload more problems onto me. The communication was nothing short of a catastrophe. After days of waiting for calls that never came, In sheer disbelief, I asked for at least half of my hard-earned money back, a request met with ongoing silence and no action. Ultimately left with no car and no resolution from Tuffy, I had to tow my beloved truck away, disheartened and significantly lighter in my wallet. I urge anyone considering auto services at Tuffy to think very carefully and consider this cautionary tale. The disappointment and financial hit were real, and I hope to spare others from similar distress. Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read and heed this warning.

I had to edit this review from 5 stars to 2 stars because of a few reasons. But in summary, every…read moretime I have gone to Kehoe for anything other than an oil change, they seem to be unable to/incapable of accurately diagnosing the issue (I drive a 2012 Toyota Prius, so it will have a digital log of error codes they can use to troubleshoot/narrow down what and where the potential broken/malfunctioning component is). I have gone to them 2 times for things outside an oil change, and each time they dropped the ball. The first was when they thought that one or more of my engines cylinders were misfiring, so they tried to do replacements and swaps of different cylinders to see if that would fix the issue, and when it didn't, they wanted to then swap out the fuel injectors...I still got charged for an amount that I cannot currently remember, but it was relatively expensive. I then decided to take the car to the dealership it was bought from (Toyota of Dekalb). The dealership fixed the issue (to which, while it was still expensive, they were willing to give me a discount), as apparently, I had blown my engines gasket...I don't work on cars, so I don't know all the difficulties in troubleshooting car repairs, but Kehoe not being able to deduce this seems off to me. The second time was just in these last couple weeks. I had my orange traction light, red break light, and orange ABS light all come on at the same time, semi-inconsistently at first. This was also accompanied by my ability to break being slightly impaired when the lights did come on. When I brought my car back to Kehoe, at first they couldn't diagnose the issue, and said they would need more time. Which is fine, no problem there. Then after keeping the car for 2 days, they called me right as they were closing on a Friday night and said that they are 85% sure that it is an ABS pump issue. When I asked how much that would cost, they quoted me at $2,800, but that because they weren't 100% sure, they were hesitant to do such an expensive repair. When I called another local repair place (Maas Auto in Countryside Illinois. My entire family used to always go here until we all moved to different cities further away) they said that while they wouldn't be able to do an ABS replacement on my car, they couldn't find a reason for the repair to cost more than $1,700... then when I called the dealership, they estimated that if it actually was an issue with the ABS pump, it would cost me $1,400....half the price of what Kehoe had quoted me....When I mentioned to the supervisor I had on the phone how much I was originally quoted, he had audibly gasped. So upon arriving at the dealership, they only took a couple hours to diagnose the issue, and you know what it was? As it certainly wasn't an ABS pump issue! But instead, it was a wheel bearing issue and speed reader malfunction on my back left wheel, which in total costed me just over 900 dollars, which was brought up to just over 1,000 dollars from a few other fees and taxes. Look...I work in an industry that is literally just troubleshooting allll the time. So I get that car repairs can be a difficult job, and that if you don't have experience with something, it makes it hard to diagnose the issue without first doing your research. I m just a bit upset that I was vastly over quoted on an ABS pump repair only for that to not even be the issue. And Chris (the owner and who I mostly interacted with) *seems* like a great guy, and like he's running a good and honest business, but I can't help but wonder if these consistent instances of inaccurate repairs/diagnoses and the overtly over-quoting of repairs are due to either him attempting to scam someone who doesn't know anything about cars, or if it's just pure negligence/ignorance when it comes to hybrid cars...which doesn't make sense since never were any of my issues that I came to him for specific to a hybrid car only component. The issues were things that could always occur on other non hybrid cars. So overall, I like Chris, but I can't logically say that his business is one I can trust anymore.
