I had a Lexus car keys whose keyboard wasn't working. So I went to Rays upon someones referral. Ray gave me an excellent customer service and replaced the battery for a reasonable price. Last week, the same car keys case had broken, so went into Ray's again to see what they could do for me. This time a person named Sean was there. He assured me that if I buy the case from somewhere and bring it in, he can fix it for me. I did exactly that and my key was fixed!! I'd definitely recommend Ray's to anyone! Firstly, the only other review of this establishment has got to be the owner. The main technician/owner is named Shawn and he drives a big white C300... Well folks, I went in to rays on a recommendation from a misled friend. I got to rays assuming that I would only have to pay about $75-95 to install a subwoofer and then perhaps a 100 or 200 more for new speaker wiring. I planned to wait at their shop while they did the work. Well needless to say We never even able to discuss the speaker wire because of how long I had to wait. I had a friend come and pick me up as well... Anyway, I walked in and had to wait to talk to someone because a friend of who knows who was there BSing with the receptionist. While they talked about nothing I sat and waited in, yes a nicely furnished speaker room with iPod hookup, a small corner for about half hour before the first gentleman asked what I was there for. Some time after that I talked to Shawn and they took my car. They did the woofer and said 100 for it and 50 for the parts because the wiring that came with was junk... Well anyway, I'm in my car and sure enough one of the speakers no longer makes noise. I called straight away as I merged onto 355 and the first gentleman I spoke to said bring the car tomorrow. I called again the following day, Shawn said there was no such warranty and he could do nothing. read more

If I could give this played 0 stars,I would! First off I bought two subwoofers that were suppose to be "top of the line", which blew on my way home from rays. They exchanged them for some other subwoofers that I had never heard of. Not to mention when they installed everything I had just bought a brand new pair of Nike shoes which THEY LOST. I asked the owner of he could get them for me and he said he couldn't find them and they gave me nothing in return for the whole issue. Long story short is that the place is ridiculously overpriced, they lie straight to your face, and they're just flat out ignorant. Hasn't been a review for days in over a year. Surprising considering they're the best aftermarket car accessories dealer and installer around. I can't say enough good things about Rays. I've been going here since I was 16 when they were located in Addison. In a World where electronics are easily accessible via the internet/amazon, Rays goes above and beyond to make sure you come to there them with their customer service and hospitality. Called to get a quote about redoing my stereo system in my car, was quoted an overpriced estimate but it was guaranteed that they would have the radio in stock. When I went in they were ironically out of the radio I wanted, but an even more expensive one was in stock. Radio works ok and sounds better, but now the radio controls I have on my steering wheel don't work. I go back in and they say it's another $100 (on top of the $360 already paid) to get it working. Passed on that option, and decided to get window tint quotes. $100 more than any other place I went to. Needless to say will not be doing anymore business here. read more

Have been to Rays several times in the past 10+ years. Had a PAC audio interface installed on my Infiniti G35 originally than years later added an amp/speakers. All quality work at decent prices compared to most. Recently had them hardwire a dash cam and radar detector for $60. Buddy paid double at his dealership for same exact camera and had to go back because it wasn't wired properly. You won't be dealing with some pushy sales people either. It's a true Mom and Pop shop. Where you will be dealing with the owner directly. There is a reason they have been around so long. Quality work and advice. read more

Stopped in 30 minutes before closing on Friday to get a quote and setup a future install date. Instead the staff stayed late and installed the new sound system in my 2012 Buick Enclave right away! Very unprofessional and willing to argue with you to save face for their mistakes. I had headlights installed and came home with no turn signals. Recently took my 2012 Mercedes S550 in to install headrest monitors in. They were actually clip ons (not embedded into the actual headrest). However, they did an awesome job hiding the wires and running power to the ignition switch to make sure the system automatically turns off when you turn off the car (some of these newer cars have a parasitic drain on your batter if electronic components arent property wired). Anyway, the job was very clean and professional at a fair price. Very satisfied customer. I dealt with Sean at the front desk, the the installer gets all the credit here (Sorry Sean). :) read more

After a disastrous, expensive and horrible experience with another installation business, Ray's was a competent breath of fresh air. Not cheap, but I've found that you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to stereo installation. So...not cheap BUT a great value. Cheap places will shove a stereo in the hole hack apart stock plastic face plates to make it "fit". An establishment like Rays will make custom trim pieces that look totally stock. They were able to replace a single din radio with a double din in my BMW. How? they replaced an unimportant sunglass compartment with the climate controls. I was skeptical but their installer Kevin truly is a craftsman/magician. Worth the price! read more

Rays Electronics used to be good. I have been a long time customer and now had 4 cars done here ranging from remote starts to hard wiring radar detectors. I've spent over $2000 here and after the second car it all went downhill. On my last car I got a remote start installed and had to come back 4 times for them to get it right. First it took about a month to get another remote for the remote start, next it did not function properly it would work 50% of the time and the doors would not unlock and finally the remote start is still acting up. Now here is what really made me not want to return to this place again, I just purchased a new 2016 VW GTI and had a radar detector and a dash cam hard wired to my car after calling Sean he said yes bring it in, I get there drop off the car and was told around a hour for it to be done. 5 hours later the car was done.... When I first dropped off the car I told the guy at the front where I want everything installed (radar under the mirror and the dash cam to the right of the mirror) I get in to see my dash cam in the middle under my mirror and the radar detector is low on the windshield. Next I find out my brand new cars fog lights don't work anymore and that I would have to return the following day to get this solved and I do not live that close. After coming back the next day and waiting for an hour finally I had to walk up and see what's going on. This cost me $145 and there was no mention of reimbursement or even a sorry. I will never return to Rays and I would advise you to look for a different shop. read more

Leaving rays electronics my turn signal flashed quickly showing that a light was out. I have videos of this. My turn signal light was out. Such a great place as far as customer service...The owner was so kind to me and my family when we came in for a replacement radio...He took time to show my son some of the cool cars that he was working on... Very personal family owned business. They not only treated us like valued customers, they treated us as if were guests in their home, which is very rare these days. If you want to get nice work done to your whip - high quality and cost effectively, this is a great spot. Staff is helpful and top notch. Shaun is cool and a good guy to work with. They set me up with a great system, ipad hookup, etc and everything has been nothing less than perfect. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about but seems like some kids whining over about not being able to do it themselves or comparing them to amazon. Bought a new CD Receiver for my car from Crutchfield. I did not purchase the installation package. I planned on doing it myself. But Allen at Crutchfield recommended Rays as a reputable installer in my area just in case I had questions or ran into any issues. I went there to look at replacing all 6 of my current stock speakers. I explained this to the Tech at Rays. He asked me who would be installing the speakers, I told him, that I would be. He smiled and smirked and said OK. Not cocky but condescending. I let it go. I asked him to look at my car to see if he thought I would run into any issues trying to do it on my own. He came out to my car gave it a quick 5 second look and said "No" you should be OK. I asked him a stock speaker specific question, basically how to remove the in-dash tweeters. He quickly told me that "He would not give me that information" that "It was an trade secret" and "I'd be out of business, if I told everyone how to do that". I thought he was joking. He was not. He quoted me some ridiculous price ($500.00) for some speakers I never heard of and I left. That same day I went to Best Buy and spent $200.00 on 6 Alpine speakers. Installed them myself, no issues.
