The guy that works there told me the story, that the teacher's union was going to strike and this was a design they had come up with and Rep CHI started printing them. I looooooove the way the Chicago flag is used as the basis of so many designs and this is one of my favorites. Prices are super reasonable and you'll find lots of great stuff here. If you have visitors, I'd definitely bring them here first to look for souvenirs. The parking is fairly easy, all street in this area of Jeff/Portage Park. He called around and found the items thru his suppliers that could ship it in time and set the whole delivery up and got me the items within a day. My daughter and her friends were totally surprised and excited . Each of them got a small Flag as the large one still flies from our pole. These kids get ridiculed and messed with quite a bit and band together for each other for this reason. The message I wanted to send was love and acceptance to these kids. I wanted them to feel comfortable and safe , ridicule free so they could just be them and eat drink and hang out. They played bags, danced , listened to music and had a great time. Some of the parents unfortunately are not so accepting and one girl actually had to ask to be dropped off down street so mom wouldnt see the rainbow flag. She apparently would not have let her stay. I found that sad, but it is a perfect example why this day was so important and these items and their message needed to be sent.
