I stopped in here during my lunch hour today to get more information on getting addresses printed for wedding save the dates. Overall, I had a terrible experience and do not recommend anyone going here if you want good service or help. My first impression was not great as I stood at the front desk for about three minutes even though there were multiple people sitting and staring aimlessly a few feet away. When someone finally came over to help me, the guy said "I'm going to look at these while we talk," and pointed to some mockups that were scattered all over the counter. Um, ok. I proceeded to ask him about printing the aforementioned addresses. He interrupted me and said, "We usually do commercial jobs, but we could maybe do a sample for you." I pulled the sample envelope I brought with me out of my bag, and he immediately asked, "Where did you get these printed?" I told him I got them done online and he criticized them, saying "The printing on here isn't even straight!" This was referring to the return address label that we were able to get printed on our envelopes. Ok, I didn't ask for your feedback on the vendor we used. He then mumbled something and tapped into a calculator saying it would be $80 to address 120 envelopes. No thanks. Terrible service. I'm surprised they can stay in business at all if this is how they treat customers. I haven't written a Yelp review in months, but this merchant was well-deserving of a negative online review. read more

Came here to get 115 save-the-dates printed. I already had them designed, but Fedex/Kinkos' card stock wasn't heavy enough (I wanted these things to be postcard style so I don't have to mess with envelopes so I needed some durable card stock). I contacted them via email and on one of their reps, Paul, immediately got back in touch with me. My design wasn't the right size or style, and I wasn't able to modify it. Paul jimmied it for me, even changed up some fonts that were lost. The finished product was exactly as I had intended. He printed out 2 samples. I picked them up. Put him on hold for a week while I got my mom and sister's blessing (oh the politics of being a bride...). He never got pushy with me when I didn't get back to him when I said I would. Put him on hold for another 2 weeks while I wrangled up all my addresses and he was able to print them on one side of the postcard. He even added my Save-the-date logo from the other side to the address side without me even asking - see, little things. I just picked them up today. They look fantastic and cost less than $1.50 a piece. read more

Ink Well is a good place to get your publishing done. Our company had to print eight-hundred 30 page booklets, full color, card board stock for the cover, as a guide for a conference we were running. Running behind as usual, Inkwell printed the booklets with only 1.5 weeks notice, and delivered them to the hotel the day before the conference for quite a reasonable price (much cheaper than some other places we called, like up at Devon). The people there are very nice and know what they're doing... for your marketing print jobs (or other things), the Ink Well is the way to go. read more

We came to Ink Well because we were looking to print our wedding invitations from a professional printing company rather than from our home printer or the local Staples. We spoke with Alvin, and after exchanging a few emails, we were under the assumption that this would be an easy process. My fiance is a graphic designer so she had everything designed and ready to go and setup in a proper printing format. We also purchased envelopes prior to going here so literally all we needed for them to do was hit "print". When I arrived to drop off the prints, they informed me that EPS files aren't accepted (even though on their website it says it is), and that all they accept is EXCEL file formats. uhhh...What? A professional printing company only accepts excel files. really? never once in our email exchanges did he mention what file format they wanted, eventhough we had asked multiple times if an EPS file format is ok. Basically it came down to this. They are perfectly fine printing mass quantities of 1 file, so say, the response envelopes. Because then they only need to hit "print" once. But give them a task where its 1 for 1 (file to print) and whoa. In conclusion... If you need wedding stuff printed? STEER CLEAR Are you a company that just needs the same text on 50,000 envelopes? After getting a few quotes, I found The Ink Well was among the cheapest (about $80 for 130 invitations). The process was very easy, and the staff was quick to respond to my emails. read more

We needed wedding ceremony programs printed and asked for price quotes from 6+ places in the immediate river north / west loop / downtown areas of Chicago. The Ink Well was by far the most reasonable and with good reviews on Yelp we gave it a shot. Great service, very quick turnaround and the quality was as good as could be asked for. We had stationary and were able to use it, thus paying even less for their services. Had we used their card stock stationary we could have chosen colors as we could for the ink. I soon found out that the quality of work done was absolutely dreadful, and their willingness to work with me to find a solution was non-existent. Steve H. is the BEST! We use The Ink Well to supply our restaurant for menu paper and we ran out earlier than expected yesterday. Steve was able to get us our menu paper on the fly. He offered to have it sent to the restaurant via courier but I oped to trot over to the Inkwell and pick it up. I was in Chicago on business and needed some presentation decks printed. I wanted to support a small business and actually went out of my way to walk over to the Ink Well with a flash drive. It was a $200 color printing job. I asked if they did color printing and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Then they said they don't "print while you wait" but could have the job ready tomorrow after 9:30. I needed them right away. It was 3 pm and the place did not look busy. I get that they close at 5, but if I was the owner of the place I would never turn away a job. Or maybe that was the owner. I said thanks and turned around and walked out. I walked down the street to Office Depot and they printed the job right away and I was done in 15 minutes. Office Depot even applied a $15 off coupon. So much for supporting the little guy. read more
