    I went into this establishment today to get pricing for obituaries. Unfortunately, I am not able to…read moregive a review on the quality of the finished product due to the rude service that my family received. It should automatically be assumed that when a family comes into this type of business that they're likely in mourning. The sales associate that we dealt with was very unfriendly and condescending. Would I advise anyone to not use this establishment? Not necessarily because the sample products looked okay. I just choose to spend my money where I receive great customer service along with a great product. Needless to say the family will be purchasing obituaries elsewhere. I don't believe in criticizing without providing a solution. Here a few things that will make the customer experience better in the future... 1. Provide some type of sensitivity training to the employees. More specifically in dealing with grieving families. Sometimes, it's not what you say, but how you say it. 2. Assume that your customer may not be experienced in creating obituaries. To ask someone what they want in a rude manner without even showing the available options is not very helpful as they are coming to you for your expertise. If the customer was experienced with creating obituaries, they would make their own and go to a print company themselves. Take a moment to show the options FIRST, then ask what they'd like. 3. Remember that a little bit of friendliness goes along way. Even if it's just providing service with a smile. 4. If all else fails, and your employees are just not friendly or simply are not "people persons", allow them to work in the back office, not on the front line dealing with customers.

Shelly has poor customer service skills and does not give a damn about your family or the pain that you are encountering. If it wasn't for Shay at the funeral home, I would have gone to another establishment. This company needs a complete overhaul and or needs to be shut down. Shelly, you need you get your attitude together, one day you will be on our side of the fence and find yourself looking in the mirror. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. If you can, do your homework before you get involved. Mr. Leak, please find a reputable establishment to handle your business. This company makes Leak and Son's look back and you are number one in my book. Actually, I selected one star, but I have no stars for this company, it can not be rated, it can not be considered, it can not be counted. Again, Shelly you are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please people, make sure you read every page, go through every detail with affine tooth comb and trust me, Shelly will still screw it up. The company name is the initials of the founder and there's no association with the TV station. Anyway, the tour of this place was really fun. They had one of their stitchers working so we got to see how they make flags, which they do for the city and all of the Chicago sports teams. They had a really cute shop kitty wandering around and had free stickers and snacks. They even sold me a couple of their old 1980s Ranlee neighborhood posters, which they had a bunch of spares.     I had a terrible experience. There was an issue with my online order where I agreed to pick up the…read morehurricane flag I ordered for my weather obsessed autistic son. I spoke to Eric who admitted that there was an issue on the website from time to time. At some point, I spoke to Gus about my order to pay priority shipping where he very rudely placed all the blame of the website order problems on me. I will admit that I accidentally made a typo on the shipping address but Gus demanded $60 in priority shipping for a domestic delivery. I was willing to meet in the middle with $30 but Gus refused to accommodate because he wasn't doing that "just for a flag." My parents agreed to pay the unreasonable fee for the sake of my son. He was going to unwrap a hurricane flag for his weather collection no matter what we had to do. The flag was supposed to be delivered by Christmas Eve for Ben to unwrap Christmas Day. I wasn't surprised the flag didn't show up on Christmas Eve as promised but I was disappointed. Fortunately, the flag I ordered from China came in on Christmas Eve so Ben was very happy to have a hurricane flag to add to his growing weather collection. Fast forward to January 5, 2026. I emailed Eric to tell him that we didn't get the flag. He sent me a screenshot of the UPS receipt stating that the delivery was made at 406 S. Fifth, touching off a heated email exchange. I live at 406 N. Fifth. I made sure when I placed the order on December 22 that I told Eric that I lived at 406 N. Fifth not South. Once again, I was blamed for the incorrect address. I searched my emails and found the shipping invoice. The shipping address clearly stated 406 N. Fifth. I was vindicated and promptly sent a screenshot of the invoice to Eric who immediately apologized and issued refunds, one for me for the cost of the flag and one to my parents for the unreasonable shipping charge of $60. I assured Eric we would never do business with them again and I will be leaving a one star review on Yelp. I was furious at the customer service I received. However, I am glad that they have a thriving business with many happy repeat customers. Unfortunately, I am not one of them.
