BUT, alas, here I am. 5 stars, but you knew that already, given the non-stop 5 star reviews that he has. And let me tell you, he earns every single one of those 5 stars in every single 5 star review, including this 5 star review. Rafael is professional, meticulous, friendly, respectful, and really does go above and beyond. It's great when you find someone that is a masterclass of their craft. It's good when you find someone that is competitively priced. It's nice when you find someone that genuinely CARES about their clientele and want their clientele to be 110% satisfied. It's AMAZING when you find a combination of all three. Seriously, you need tile work? Please, don't look anymore. You won't get better than Rafael. Book him. Be prepared to have your socks knocked off. If you don't believe me, well, then, believe my pictures. They speak for themselves. We got counter to ceiling herringbone in a ceramic 2x8 tile - not exactly a walk in the park, and a skill that definitely takes years to master.

I was looking to have a relatively small 4x3 shower waterproofed and tiled. I explained that I was interested in a curbless entry or low-profile curb. Rather than discussing options, Mike seemed to focus on explaining why curbless would be too much work and why going with a curb would be easier. His overall demeanor also came across as somewhat unpersonable and not particularly interested in working through what I was looking for. After taking measurements, he provided a quote of $10,000 for waterproofing and tiling the shower alone, not including tile or any of the necessary materials. The estimate wasn't itemized, which made it difficult to understand how the cost was broken down. I understand that quality work comes at a cost and that construction isn't inexpensive these days. However, I received three additional quotes for the same scope of work, all ranging between $4,000 and $6,000. That was a pretty significant difference. Ultimately, I got the impression that Mike wasn't particularly interested in taking on the project. The experience felt like a waste of time for both parties. I wish the interaction had been more personable and the estimate more transparent.
