I've been to this salon twice, and both experiences were disappointing. The first time, I had an appointment but ended up waiting so long I left three hours later--barely attended to. I gave them another try recently for a gel pink pedicure. I showed a photo of my previous color (done at this salon), but the technician couldn't match it with the palette. She asked for help, but no one--including Lynn, who seemed in charge--offered support. Lynn finally stepped in, looked at the photo, and told me (rudely) it was filtered so I wouldn't get that color, then walked away without another word. I felt bad for the tech and settled for whatever was closest. Lack of professionalism, poor support for staff, and long wait times--I won't be coming back. read more

THEE BEST NAIL SALON!!! I get gel manicures when my nails have grown to the point that I am embarrassed to show my hands and even though I stretch the time between manis I have NEVER had a nail chip. I prefer Jon to do my nails but have had other nail techs as well but always been satisfied. My 22 year old granddaughter lives in New Hampshire and goes to college in Pennsylvania but always goes to Elegance when she visits because she believes it is better than any salon she has used at home or at school. read more

I just had one of the most racist and horrible customer service I've ever experienced at Elegance. I have been coming to this place for over 4 years and I have waited for my appointment every single time, sometimes over 30 mins. On 6/16 I went in at 9:45am to get ONE nail fixed and Lin had the nerve to ask me if I got my nails done there and if I had an appointment. They don't have any respect or care for their loyal customers. I came to fix one nail and they said I should have made an appointment. Meanwhile 3 technicians were absolutely available. They claimed they have other appointments. One tech was standing outside, another walking around and another was doing her own nails and watching something on her phone. I was there for almost 10 mins and not one person walked in. They claimed that my one nail would delay the customers that weren't there. I called my friend who was there on Wednesday to tell her about the racism I experienced and she said on Wednesday, Lin stopped working on a customer as soon as a white lady came in and fix her nail. Lin didn't ask her for an appointment or anything. When I called Lin from my car she didn't apologize, she simply kept saying "are you done?" I hope more people write reviews about their horrible attitude especially to people of color. They greet all the people of color with rudeness and disgust. You are serving your customers that pay you. You are not doing us any favors. I will be addressing this with the owner Andy. I hope he will make sure that his techs provide better customer service rather than having horrible attitudes towards their paying customers. read more

I NEVER write reviews, and honestly I wouldn't have written this one if they would have handled it differently. I came here with my mother and my daughter, for pedicures, they up sold us on a spa pedicure $55. So during my pedicure the nail tech who was working on me was very distracted by the tv, that's cool I get it. Scrubbing my foot isn't exciting, but she wound up scrubbing my heal so hard she took some skin off which was totally an accident and I understand. But, I was bleeding a lot and she didn't even notice (she was watching Kevin Heart) So I told her and she was like oh okay let me put some alcohol and Vaseline on it. And I'm like thank you, but I don't want any alcohol or Vaseline just a bandaid will be fine. She insists I let her put something on it and I'm like fine, it burnt so bad I wanted to cry. Okay so whatever we move on from this, she pulls out the hot towels which were steaming and clearly to hot to put on someone's skin. I was wrong, she put it right on, and I got burnt. All of this I can still totally understand. What pushed me to the point of almost tears was when she wanted to take the bandaid off my heal, and put more alcohol on. To which I just said, it's fine. I don't need to change my bandaid I'm okay. So then she gets another girl who is like we need to put alcohol on it, and I'm like no I'm really okay I just want to leave it alone and get my toes painted. But they just couldn't leave it alone. So finally I was just like, thank you, but I just want to leave. So I thanked her and walked to the front to pay for my daughter and I told them I didn't feel I should have to pay for mine, considering I didn't even get my toes painted and that l had been burnt and cut. To which the manager told me no. That they tried to help me, but I refused and that wasn't their fault. Someone had spent time on me and I had to pay. I was really on the verge of tears at this point and just wanted to leave so I paid for it. So I move on from this experience, when they text me apologising about what had happened. They ask me how we can make me happy, to which I told them I just wanted a refund. That's it, I feel like I had been robbed, and they really made me feel like garbage about the whole situation. They never answered. I was really bothered by that. I hope they read this, so that maybe they can rectify this situation and give me a refund. read more

Literally the worst customer service experience I've ever had! I got a fill-in and a pedicure, in total I was charged $90. I asked for a break down of the price and it was like pulling teeth trying to get it. Even then, not all money was accounted for. When I pushed Kim to further explain what all the extra money was for, she threatened to call the cops if I don't pay. I explained I wasn't trying to not pay, I was just trying to understand what exactly I'm paying for. They were so incredibly rude, not only when we were discussing prices, but throughout the entire manicure. They also took someone else before me (who did NOT have an appointment), even though she just walked in and I was sitting there waiting. THE worst experience if I could give zero stars I would. I have been getting gel mani/pedis and going to nails salons for years. This by far was the most horrific experience that has ever happened to me at a nail salon. I was visiting from out of town and decided to try this salon for a gel manicure and pedicure around 1:30p. I was seated right next to another patron. Six feet requirements are not followed in this location. The procedure for the "gel" polish is not what I have typically experienced. Which leads me to believe the polish is not gel polish. The nail tech cut me twice on two different toes using the cuticle machine. Both were bleeding and not just a speck - bleeding to the point that antibacterial had to be applied repeatedly to get it to stop. It's night time as I write this & I just applied more hydrogen peroxide on the cuts and it's still painful. Another nail tech then used the same cuticle machine on another patron without cleaning or sanitizing it. There was no apology for what occurred and the store then tried to charge me the full price for the pedicure even after the incident. When I shared that I was more than understanding with what occurred and that I believed I should not pay full price (given the incident) I was told "the nail tech cleaned it up for you" as the reason for the full amount being required. I was initially going to be charged $40 for the pedicure the woman (not sure if she is the owner) then changed it to $35. But, then charged me an additional $40 for changing my nail color. When I asked why was I being charged $40 for changing a nail color she rudely shared the prices are on the wall. For someone who had two bleeding toes when walking out the salon you would think I was the one who cut the owner and the employees. The treatment at this location is beyond subpar, the lack of sanitizing practices is shocking (especially during a pandemic) and I would advise all individuals to avoid visiting this nail salon at all costs. read more

HORRIFIC SALON. Can't even give one star. My two daughters and I have been going here for well over two years. I can see the decline in service in my recent experiences. My older daughter went in for a "gel manicure" today and came to find out the base of her nails from them has been acrylic. My daughter asked repeatedly if what they were doing would be more expensive and they said "no-no". The picture speaks for itself. They charged her $75!!! A gel manicure is $35, ANYWHERE ELSE! They took advantage of her and it's not the first time! Each one of her fingers, after they were done, we're covered in polish and she was told that it would come off when she washed her hands. It was my third time coming to this salon, I made an appointment over the phone and specified I did not want gel. I was confirmed that no gel was to be used. I arrived on time and didn't get helped until 40 minutes of waiting. The help was only for nails to be glued on and then I was waiting for ANOTHER 20 minutes. The tech I specifically asked for took two other clients while I was waiting. When I showed the reference picture I was then told it was gel only. Lyn (the tech) told me the polish they use is gel based only even tho I called and was told twice that no gel was to be used- I asked to be accommodated since I was waiting for 1hour and no empathy was shown. This place deserves 3 stars. I started going here for a few months & thought it was nice despite the reviews until I had an issue. I got a pedicure on Saturday that only lasted 4 days (until Wednesday) & when I was able to come back the following Saturday (because of work) they told me okay we will fix it. I get to the register just to make sure everything is ok & they tell me they're only going to charge me $10 instead of $15 for a polish change. You can't be serious and should've said that in the beginning because I would never come back for that type of service. Needless to say, they lost a regular customer because of their poor customer service. It was closer to the lady that does my eyelashes, but I will go back down the street to Sister Nails or Cranford Nails & Spa. read more

She cut me 2x and was so aggressive in how she handled me and spoke to me. When I said something to her she was so combative. I used to love coming here because I felt like my nail tech took her time to shape my nails the exact way I like and to ensure they were durable against my teeth. I've been hesitant to come back here because the last three visits I've had, I've ended up having to get a new set because half of the nails would break off. The most recent time I was there, they not only broke off but were shaped crookedly. I had a feeling this might happen because I was able to get a new set and a pedicure in less than two hours, which seemed rushed to me. I'm not a professional, but I think my nail tech used too much monomer with the acrylic powder, evident when I saw the acrylic literally dripping off the brush. I really like the nail salon because it's clean and the people who work there are nice to me, but I can't justify spending $50+ every other week because my nails keep breaking off. I have been going to Elegance for the past 6 months. For the most part, the gel manicure ($25) does last. However, don't bother making appointments, they don't respect them or your time. They will make you wait forever. I've only had my nails actually look really good & done well once possibly twice. Not to mention, the way the owner and few other women speak to the women who preform pedicures is a disgrace. They not only yell at them, they roll their eyes, get nasty and demanding. I saw one woman drop a bottle of nail polish, and somehow the poor girl giving someone a pedicure in the back got yelled at! So upsetting. I have been looking for a new salon for a while now and haven't had much luck. This place is ok. I would go again if I cannot find a better place, but I am still looking. I went in for a dip powder manicure with acrylic tips and the nail tech was very good. I didn't catch his name, but he was attentive to detail and did good work and I was pleased with the shape. He was a tad rough with the buffing but that's really just nitpicking. My issues with this place are: 1) they don't do dip powder fill ins -- I find this very odd and a few places around here also don't do dip fill ins, and I don't understand why. I do appreciate that the manager told me this before I got the dip powder and I told her I still wanted dip but I do appreciate the heads up. 2) There was an uncomfortable argument about pricing at the register when I was getting my manicure. A customer was clearly frustrated and upset and thought she was paying for a service she didn't actually receive, and it seemed to me there was a misunderstanding but the manager kept repeating the same thing over and over, which was not helping, until the customer just agreed to pay and left exasperated. 3) They were really busy and even though I had an appointment, I waited about 20 minutes before my service started, and I was there on time. So, overall not wild dealbreakers but I do think there are better options out there somewhere. read more

They tried charging her $60 and when she brought this up at checkout the store threatened to call the police for an unknown reason. Completely ridiculous and borderline illegal. Do not go here.
