I am giving 2 stars because the place was neat and there wasn't a long queue; I was served immediately. The appointment started out okay and I was pleased. Now the reason why they lost 3 stars. I went there for a Brazilian wax. During the session, even though I paid for a Brazilian, she kept trying to get me to do a bikini wax instead (maybe less work for her?) and I had to refuse multiple times. After the appointment, and when I was about to leave, she said she would charge me an extra $15 because my hair was coarse and she did the back (which is what a Brazilian is). For me it is the principle of things and the way she went about it. She never mentioned it or said anything during the wax and waited till I was about to leave. I was very upset with that. read more

I had a hard a time finding parking and locating the Bellissima Waxing and Spa. After a few circles around the area, I found parking. Once I began walking to the location, I noticed that I couldn't find it. So, I called the Spa and Maria guided me towards the Spa. Maria was great. She knew how to apply the SNS dip powder without making it look too thick. Unfortunately, she couldn't fit me in for a pedicure. However, I booked another appointment within the next two weeks for a mani-spa pedi. The salon is nicely put together and comfortable/cozy. Maria is nice and a pleasure to talk with. read more

There was a decent color selection and she did a nice job. She was careful and clean. My nails turned out nice, hopefully they will last. The salon is clean and cute. Got a Brazilian wax from Caroline last month and decided that as long as I live in NJ, I will never get waxed anywhere else. It was the most thorough, longest lasting, and least painful wax I've ever gotten! And they might still have a promotion- 25% off for a wax with Caroline because she just joined this fall! Which makes it the cheapest wax you'll find anywhere. I've tried about a dozen salons in NJ and CT for Brazilians, and have always had to choose between 1) The European Wax Center-type hard wax, which is less painful but also much less thorough. I would always see stray hairs after I left, and the rest of the hair grew back quickly. 2) The soft wax with strips which is excruciating but thorough. The wax they use at Belissima is a special kind of hard wax that is less painful than soft wax but also picks up all the hair. The waxing process took longer than usual but the pain was much lower in intensity. I was nervous about getting the new waxer- Caroline- but she turned out to be incredibly experienced and very friendly! She's clearly been waxing for many years. She never double dipped and twice tested the temperature of the wax to make sure it wouldn't burn. The level of hygiene at Belissima is akin to what you'd see at a medical clinic- gloves, a separate cup of wax for each client, new stick for each application of wax, never going over the same area twice in a row. This is a great place for a first time waxer- or anyone really! Caroline and Jane are experts who take their work very seriously and friendly enough to immediately put you at ease. read more

Jane (pronounced Jha-ne) is by far the best person that I have used to do my waxing. I have been to many different people and have had many different waxing services done, but no one has taken the care, paid the attention, and given me the best end result as Bellissima Waxing (my "peach" was silky smooth). After my first visit, I immediately scheduled another appointment and called all of my friends. The facilities are very, very clean (spa like) and Jane gives each client their own wax. She does not dip the stick back into the same big collective pot of wax. Which means that your germs are your germs and I don't get them. She uses the hard wax (which was new for me) rather than the wax that needs to be removed with the cloth strip. I find that the hard wax is far less painful than the other (although I have been getting brazilians for years...it still hurts). I barely felt anything with Jane. After many attempts at searching for a decent local waxer, the arduous journey has ended. I decided to put my faith in Bellissima based on their fantastic Yelp reviews. I got my eyebrows waxed by Caroline and I was not disappointed. The space is very clean and new and I immediately felt comfortable upon entering the building. Since it was my first time at the salon, Caroline thoroughly explained her process of shaping my brows. She took her time to mark where the eyebrows should start, where it should arch, and where it should end, based on my facial features. Most importantly, she asked for my input and what kind of shape/look I prefer. The wax was gentle yet effective, and the process painless. I must say that my experience here was absolutely fantastic. Never have I ever gone to a spa where I was treated like much more than just a customer. Jani was extremely welcoming and sweet from beginning to end and she made me feel like family. Renata did my bikini wax and she's the only person I've ever gone to that truly took her time, very meticulous and it was obvious that she genuinely cared about providing an excellent service making sure that every single hair was out and that the end result was nothing but clean and professional. To make things better, I was offered a complimentary manicure with Marie because it was my first time and my nails needed up looking great as well. Was a bit skeptical at first. Had a 10:30 appt and they didn't take me into the waxing room until 10:45. However, my experience quickly turned around when Maria did my wax as she was a lovely, personable lady and we had a great chat! She made me feel super comfortable even though I hadn't had a brazilian in a while. Plus I used a groupon so it was only $26 for a great waxing experience which is a great deal! Let me start by saying that (1) I have never had anything waxed before, and (2) I found and chose Bellissima solely based on their stellar Yelp reviews. I am happy to report that Bellissima surpassed my already-high expectations! I got a Brazilian wax from Jane, the owner. Any anxiety I had about the wax soon went away; Jane put me right at ease and I knew I was in good hands. Her work was sanitary, thorough, and very careful. Yes, it hurts for a little bit, but nothing near what I was expecting (I did take Advil about 20 minutes before my appointment--I'm sure it helped). For a first timer, and as someone who does not have a high tolerance for pain, I was pleasantly surprised by the easy process. I am a Brazilian wax CONVERT now, ladies! As previous reviewers have said, my search for a new waxer has ended! I previously was at Euro Wax but found the high turnover rate and rushed experience less than ideal. I came to Christine for an eyebrow and Brazilian and I am so so so happy with the result. The wax they use is nice and gentle but also effective! I was nervous because I am 6.5 months pregnant and haven't been waxed in some time, but it was actually a very pleasurable experience. Renata was friendly and professional, made me feel comfortable, was quick and good at what she does! I have been to many different estheticians and find that some are better at certain specialty areas but Renata was excellent at both waxing and the manual airbrush tan. Based on its great Yelp review I decided to give this place a try. The place is small but nicely decorated and clean. There is a small metered parking lot across the street; however, based on the surrounding businesses finding a spot could be a problem. Although there was no receptionist when I arrived for my appointment, the door was open. After a few minutes I knocked on the spa door to let them know that I had arrived early. Ten minutes or so after my scheduled (underarm) appointment I was approached by Janeh who sincerely apologized for the delay and explained that since Christine was behind schedule that she would be taking care of me. Renata is a genius. There is truly no other way to say it. I am INCREDIBLY particular about my eyebrows and can notice one incorrectly tweezed hair. A friend recommended that I see Renata and I was hesitant because I am really, really picky about my brows and have left more than one salon in tears. But my brows were not reaching their full potential and I knew it was time for a change. So, I agreed to see Renata...but I was nervous. I think she was able to sense my apprehension because she really took her time getting a sense of what look I was going for and making sure she had the shape exactly right and stopping throughout the procedure to let me look and to make sure I was completely comfortable. The result? After a wax and dye job, I can honestly say that they have never, ever looked better. Renata is simply gifted and she was able to conceive of the most flattering possible shape for me and execute it in the most comfortable way leading to a perfect outcome. Seeing Renata is not convenient for me, but I'd travel a lot longer to get to her and have her unleash her talent on my brows. Ten stars. GO! read more
