Checked out their website, then gave them a call about cleaning up my Mac before my vacation. I put it off to the last minute and wasn't sure they could help. Luckily, they could help me, and the rush fee was $100. I love that fact they picked up the phone and it wasn't some dead doornail employee who could care less about my computer issue. Chris, the owner, actually answered the phone. He said to bring it down. I came in that same day and he told me they would: clean it up, install new OS, remove junk, and speed it up overall. He quoted me end of the week, but it was ready sooner, so happy about because it would be ready for vacation. Total came out to about $430 with the rush fee. It's been about 6 weeks now and my computer is running amazing, so fast! They also have refurbished Macs for sale, which I'll be back for when my current computer stops working. Super 5 Stars for DC Computers! They care about their business and customers. So glad I found them.

After they installed my new cooler and did some BIOS updates, they let me sit down right next to them and check it out. This seems like an awesome family run business. They were super friendly and explained everything once they figured out the issue(update was corrupt and my hard drive was failing). They got everything fixed and I upgraded my hard drive to a bigger size while I was at it. The other shop spent less than 2 minutes looking and didn't care about my opinion or what happened. I took it here for a second opinion and after 5 minutes of looking and hearing what happened he said everything was there and he could save all the files and reload the operating system and then reinstall all the files and nothing would be lost. This sounded too good to be true, but 2 days later my computer is fully functioning with all the programs and files reinstalled. I have to reinstall a couple of my own aftermarket software programs I have the disks for. These guys are awesome and I will be back again. I have used them in the past with great success. The only reason they weren't my first stop originally on this instance was the computer disaster happened on a Saturday and I was looking for an instant fix and Techmate was closed on the weekend. I figured most places would be the same so I tried someone new. I didn't like what I heard and decided to wait till Monday and come to the place I knew I had success with previously. Not all computer repairs are the same. This guy took the time to really listen and look. Techmate is reliable, listens and takes pride in finding and solving problems!

Instead, I found the TV I wanted, received great service, and decided to purchase in-store and buy the Best Buy Protection plan for my $4,500+ TV. Fast forward 18 months, and the screen developed some unusual wear. It didn't affect the picture, but it was noticeable on dark scenes. I figured I'd see what Best Buy had to say. From start to finish, the experience was incredible: Justin in Geek Squad genuinely cared about helping me and made the process easy. Carla, the Geek Squad technician, was knowledgeable, professional, and confirmed the issue was covered. Within hours, my claim was approved. I then worked with Stephen from the Audio/Video team, who went above and beyond to find the replacement TV I wanted, even though it wasn't in stock. Ryan, the Assistant Store Manager, also took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was taken care of. Great teams are built from the top, down and it shows. In the end, I received the newer model of my TV and even got about $500 back in store credit because of the price difference. I honestly couldn't be more impressed. This experience has truly changed my opinion of buying big-ticket electronics in-store. I'll absolutely be purchasing them from Best Buy going forward, and I'll always add the Protection plan. Last week I had to emergency purchase a new camera body for a shoot. Best Buy had it listed as "1-hour pickup," so I placed the order thinking I'd be able to grab it before my shoot. Hours later the order still wasn't ready so I figured I'd be able to grab it the next day. Come to find out the NEXT MORNING, they didn't actually have the camera in stock. When your livelihood depends on your equipment, listing something as available for pickup when it isn't can put someone's entire job at risk. And this isn't my first frustrating experience with them. I've also seen products priced higher right before a "sale," making the discount look way better than it actually is. I'm just so tired of corporate greed and huge companies getting away with practices that would absolutely destroy the reputation of a small business. It's super hard to find an office supply anymore! This location is close so I stopped by…read more I needed acrylic stands for signs, they had 4 boxes so I grabbed them. I got home and 1 box was used all scratched up and instead of 4 stands inside the box someone swapped out a different sign inside. This was frustrating because it meant another trip to the store. They really need to check when people return items and not restock it at full price $29.99. I understand it's not the fault of the people who work there but they really need to check returns. Because this is a waste of time & gas for anyone. My first trip out was great the workers were very helpful and it was a fast check out. The return trip took so long, only 1 cashier and 5 people in line and 4 of them were returns, and it took a lot longer not sure why ‍. The cashier didn't really care why I brought it back but did mark it with a sticker that read damaged sold as is (or something to that effect). So they were clearly putting it back on the shelf. The store isn't well stocked or maybe just sold out (I'm not sure). It was clean and orderly not didn't really have enough stock on what I needed.

Instead of weighing in the long line at the mall, I chose to bring my computer to Crywolf and I am glad that I did. If something happens to your Apple computer. The typical process as you have to find a reservation time and wait sometimes over a week for the Repair to start and if you're like me a week without a computer is way too long. With Crywolf, you can actually just call them and they can get you right in. They take walk-ins. The guys are very friendly knowledgeable, and communicate communicated very well. Of getting my screen replaced if you bring to an Apple Store they will just take your computer and mail it somewhere, but Crywolf does the repairs in house they will most likely have to order your parts but for me they let me keep my computer while the part was being shipped and when the part arrived, they let me know and was able to get my computer back after only three hours at the shop, which is great because my entire business runs on the computer and downtime is not an option. I highly recommend you get your Apple Service by these guys you wont regret it!

When I first brought my 2025 MacBook Air to him my concern was that the cursor would freeze for 15 - 30 seconds quite often, and the round balloon kept appearing and would not let me do anything on the computer also for 15 - 30 seconds throughout the day. Also, it just seemed slow when I tried to open a pages document. Maddening. I told him I know nothing about computers and that I wanted it to work the way it always had since I bought it. He told me he would have to reinstall the operating system. What do I know? I said sure. Even now while typing, the computer stops typing every so often and I have to wait about 15 - 30 seconds for my computer to catch up and print my words. Continuing with my sad tale of woe. I came back the next day and paid him $170. Unfortunately when I got home the computer was not the same. To start with my desktop did not have any of the documents I had saved to it and there were other problems. So I called him and I asked him why he returned my computer to me when it was not the same computer I brought into him. He said I could put everything back on the desktop and he started to rattle off what I needed to do. Ridiculous! I stopped him and reminded him that I said I was tech challenged and did not feel competent to do that. His response was for another $70. he would put my desktop back the way it was. Outrageous that he would half fix my computer, return it to me not the way I gave it to him and then he wanted to charge me more. So I foolishly paid him and the next day my desktop was what it used to be. However, there remained other problems such as my Passkey not working but decided, rather than call him, to call Apple support and they were able to resolve these several issues. Here it is 2 -3 weeks later and I am again having the same problems with the ball and the cursor freezing throughout the day. Also, my computer is being very slow to open my Pages documents. The very same problems he supposedly fixed when he reinstalled my operating system. For sure I will not let Mr. Chip touch my machine again but I will take it to a repair shop that I have used before. The only reason I didn't use them this time is they were backed up and said they couldn't get to my computer for at least 2 days. I should have shown patience and waited. My bad!
