I'm usually the type of person who buys everything online or on Amazon because it's just easier. About a year and a half ago, I stopped by Best Buy Mission Valley just to look at TVs before finding the best deal online. Instead, I found the TV I wanted, received great service, and decided to purchase in-store and buy the Best Buy Protection plan for my $4,500+ TV. Fast forward 18 months, and the screen developed some unusual wear. It didn't affect the picture, but it was noticeable on dark scenes. I figured I'd see what Best Buy had to say. From start to finish, the experience was incredible: Justin in Geek Squad genuinely cared about helping me and made the process easy. Carla, the Geek Squad technician, was knowledgeable, professional, and confirmed the issue was covered. Within hours, my claim was approved. I then worked with Stephen from the Audio/Video team, who went above and beyond to find the replacement TV I wanted, even though it wasn't in stock. Ryan, the Assistant Store Manager, also took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was taken care of. Great teams are built from the top, down and it shows. In the end, I received the newer model of my TV and even got about $500 back in store credit because of the price difference. I honestly couldn't be more impressed. This experience has truly changed my opinion of buying big-ticket electronics in-store. I'll absolutely be purchasing them from Best Buy going forward, and I'll always add the Protection plan. We purchased an expensive laptop from Best Buy with a one-year warranty. Just ten months later, it stopped working. The computer showed no visible signs of damage, and we had done nothing to damage it. When we first brought it in for repair, the support representative was curt and made us feel as though warranty coverage was uncertain. We returned another day and fortunately encountered a much more helpful employee who accepted the laptop for repair. Now, 27 days later, the situation has become even more unacceptable. We have been notified that Best Buy significantly damaged our laptop during shipping and that it now requires an additional $2,000 in parts. We have no clear timeline for getting our computer back and no assurance of when--or even how--it will be replaced. The proposed solutions are unreasonable. We do not want a refund because the laptop was purchased on sale, and replacing it with an equivalent computer would cost significantly more. We have also been offered the option of purchasing a new laptop and returning it, provided it is in perfect condition. This puts the burden and financial risk on us for damage that occurred while our original computer was in Best Buy's care. Equally frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. We have been unable to reach the store manager because the manager's phone number is not publicly available. When we ask for help reaching the manager, we are redirected to Geek Squad instead. California law addresses the requirement to complete warranty repairs within a reasonable time, and 30 days is fast approaching. Best Buy has still provided no reliable timeline for resolution, despite the fact that the laptop was under warranty and the additional damage occurred during its own shipping process. We purchased this computer in good faith, which included the protection of a warranty, and entrusted Best Buy with its repair. We should not be left without a working computer, facing higher replacement costs, and bearing the consequences of damage caused while the computer was in Best Buy's possession. We expect Best Buy to take responsibility and provide a fair, timely resolution: an equivalent replacement at no additional cost to us, or another solution that leaves us no worse off than before this repair began. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid Best Buy for Apple repairs. I brought my iPhone in over Labor Day weekend for a battery replacement, and just days later, my camera stopped working properly. Apple later identified over $500 in damage they attributed to the poor repair, including debris in the camera lens and improper frame placement that compromised the phone's water resistance. Best Buy refused to take responsibility, and I was bounced between multiple managers. Pouya eventually offered a replacement, but it had 100GB less storage. During the transfer, an associate nearly caused me to lose years of photos by attempting to wipe the phone and start over. I spent approximately 8 hours dealing with Best Buy, not to mention the extra gas, stress, and time. What should have been a simple battery replacement turned into a nightmare. I ended up having to pay for a new phone out of pocket for $1,500 because of their incompetence. Save yourself the headache and take your Apple devices directly to Apple. read more

DO NOT purchase from this store or company As a small business owner, it's so frustrating watching massive corporations operate in ways that can seriously impact small businesses without seeming to care. Last week I had to emergency purchase a new camera body for a shoot. Best Buy had it listed as "1-hour pickup," so I placed the order thinking I'd be able to grab it before my shoot. Hours later the order still wasn't ready so I figured I'd be able to grab it the next day. Come to find out the NEXT MORNING, they didn't actually have the camera in stock. When your livelihood depends on your equipment, listing something as available for pickup when it isn't can put someone's entire job at risk. And this isn't my first frustrating experience with them. I've also seen products priced higher right before a "sale," making the discount look way better than it actually is. I'm just so tired of corporate greed and huge companies getting away with practices that would absolutely destroy the reputation of a small business. Something I never believed I would see. They got Legos. And not the cheap sets but sets you would find at an actual toy store. I was impressed. On 9/10 I had a service appointment for my Apple Pencil Pro at geek squad. I paid the service fee for a replacement. Today I went to Best Buy to check the status for the third time, I was told that it would take 3-7 business days. I told the rep that it has already been almost 3 weeks, he check the back and found the replacement in a box. I checked the FedEx shipping label Best Buy received it on 9/12. I did not receive a phone call or an email that it was received. I also came by on 9/16 and 9/21 to check if they had the replacement, both times I was told they would send me an email when ready. If it was possible to leave a less than one star review I would, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow that. I had an absolutely nightmarish experience regarding the delivery, and installation/haul-away of a refrigerator. I had originally scheduled the delivery of a new fridge on a Monday between 11-3, not a big deal seeing as the fridge was purchased on a Friday. Well, needless to say that didn't work out at all. Why you ask? Well, it starts with BestBuy contracting w/local non-affiliated delivery companies. Delivery drivers and companies that have zero fcuks to give. So much so that they fail to call regarding arrival, follow delivery instructions, or barely make an effort to attempt to make contact with a human being. Then they bail. Forget trying to get ahold of a human when you call customer service b/c it doesn't exist. Everything gets routed thru a queue, a chat agent, or an automated text bot. When you finally get a response it's nothing more than a bunch of canned excuses and a reschedule for delivery 2x days later, including another delivery window, this time it's 3-7. Come on. Well, now it's Wednesday and now I'm all about bubble stalking the delivery driver thru BestBuy's delivery web tracker, a small win if you can call it that. This time the driver actually calls and arrives on time. But that's where the good ends. The delivery clowns ask to enter the building and come and eye fcuk the old fridge. At first the main guy balks at the size of the current fridge and has size concerns about removing it and putting the new one in and has to call dispatch or whoever his taskmaster is. Now I'm starting to get a case of the ass. He comes back in and says he can't remove the old fridge. WTF?! Ok, I'll remove it and they can take it. Nope. All they can do is leave the new one. Again, WTF?! I paid for delivery/installation/haul away. They call dispatch again, I'm getting madder. They now say Geek Squad has to come and finish the installation and haul the old fridge away. Umm... a total lie/fabrication. Then they just bail. Well, now it's all about trying to contact customer service again for someone else to come out and un-ass their grand fcuk up. Unbelievable!!! Now I have to wait until Friday where some asshat from BestBuy will show up between 7-7 and fix this clusterfcuk of a gigantic mess. Long story short, don't shop at BestBuy!!! The company plainly doesn't care about customer service anymore. Terrible value for your money. Save it and go to a smaller retailer or a mom and pop shop. P.S. Once transferred, the agents repeatedly confirm: They cannot provide any manager names, store leadership contact information, or email addresses. They can only provide the same store phone number that automatically routes back to them. They cannot escalate to a store manager, U.S.-based supervisor, or corporate representative. Great customer service experience! I have been looking for a new refrigerator, and I spent much of that time weighing the cost of various brands. My Kenmore Elite has been a great refrigerator, though I can tell one of the doors isn't cooling sufficiently. If you've shopped appliances lately, I am sure you've noticed price increases. Replacing the Kenmore with another brand would save anywhere from $200-$500, so I really had to balance the features of each brand. Today is the last day of the Labor Day sales, so I snapped to attention and headed to Best Buy. Ten minutes into my shopping experience, I was greeted by Jon Hatcher. 15 minutes later I had chosen the replacement(Kenmore), updated my credit details and arranged for delivery. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 68 years! Deliverers refused to remove old washer due to the appearance of a plumbing valve and so they left. We had our own building engineer and plumber inspect the valves and he said they were good to go. The deliverers came back 4 days later, and again, refused to install even after our engineer spoke with them in person. Then Best Buy called me while the installers were still here. Our plumber offered to disconnect the old appliances to let Best Buy remove them and he offered to reinstall the new appliances himself. The girl from Best Buy said that was acceptable, but while I was on the phone with her the installers slipped out the other door and drove away. Best Buy is a nightmare. Don't use Best Buy! Their customer service is terrible after you leave the store you're cooked. You cannot call the store for any reason you cannot get through all their customer service is offshore and in many different countries .Yesterday I came in to get a power supply for my Microsoft surface. I had my old cord, so I turned it in to be recycled . The salesperson offered me the open box so I bought that one. The sales person did not check the open box and part of what comes in the open box is a cord that goes from the actual charger block to the wall. According to the box, that part should've been included, but it was not in the box. I received a $12 discount on my open box (I paid over $70 for the charger ), but I had no idea that it was not a complete product. I lost an entire night of working on projects with deadlines. When I got home, I had no car available to go back to the store so I called Best Buy at least seven times I received customer service help from Carlos Kimberly, Bob, Nisha and Ruben. Bob was a woman who said she was in Asia. Nisha was a woman who said she was in India ...No one would let me through to the actual store at 5151 Mission Center Rd. to ask for my recycle cord to be recovered or to speak with the manager. I'm very disappointed that there is no customer service with Best Buy after you leave the store. You may not call and get through to the actual store customer service lacking. read more

After 40 minutes of going throughout their process, I'm told something is wrong with their system and they can't ship it out and that I'd have to go directly through Apple. Best Buy always have a great selection and always have items that I didn't know existed or was out yet. I wish I could end my review there. Itll be quicker to win the lottery than to find employees that are helpful. I asked 3 employees for help. Two went in the back to look in the back room and they never came back to me. The third one was looking on his device and couldn't figure it out. I came on a Saturday around 3pm. It was slightly busy. Didn't look like they had enough staff on the floor. It was pretty clean and organized. I felt like there weren't a ton of signs above the eye sight of someone about 6 feet so I spent a lot of time just walking and hoping to run into the right section. Came for the open box section which was all just laptops and that was disappointed but I did walk away with a Blink camera. Value was pretty decent. So that's why it gets a 3 star. I think the one in Chula is a bit more helpful and carries some more items. read more

I really do want to keep brick and mortar stores in business. Which is why I try to go to them as much as possible, however, Best Buy and their customer service and the way they treat people after they buy products is making it harder and harder. When Amazon does more to solve problems and take care of you as a customer then Best Buy, then Best Buy is introuble. So in the last 2 months I've bought over $5000 worth of products from appliances to video game sysytems and every single thing I have purchased from them has had a problem or a customer service issue or a delivery issue or an install issue. The people at the stores are nice and friendly when you're buying it and then if an issue pops up, you have to deal with customer service. Their managers become a nightmare when there is an issue and they constantly fall back on the excuse of "our policy" or "this is the way we do it". There's no problem solving. There is no try to make the customer happy because of something we messed up. It's just nope "shrug" you're gonna have to deal with it too bad for you. Do not pay to be a member of Best Buy rewards program! The benefits are conditional - like earn $20 when you purchase $100 on Barbie or Hot Wheels or earn $20 when you purchase $100 in restaurant gift cards. I saw that I had $10 in rewards. I used it to purchase a switch game (on line) at this location. My order was canceled and my reward was lost. I went online to their chat and the representative told me the reward would be reinstated within 3 business days. I revisited the chat on after 5 days - today's representative told me because of the type of reward, they cannot reinstate it as it was redeemed. So...I redeemed my $10 reward for an order that the store canceled. Doesn't make any sense. By the way, my sister doesn't have a membership, but she receives rewards on a regular basis. This is the first one I've received after being a member for over a year. I canceled my membership. The representative warned me that I would lose all benefits and rewards valued at $110. Since I will not purchase Hot Wheels or Barbie or restaurant gift cards, I elected to proceed in canceling my membership - there were no actual rewards, just conditional money back on items I would not consider buying at Best Buy (restaurant gift cards?). read more
