Complete incompetence. I specifically looked for an electrician in Dallas that could install a Temporary Power pole in Dallas. They said they can do it. Turns out they know nothing about the permit process or how to properly install the pole. The outlets were not attached the line wasn't installed high enough and more fails. On April 2nd we got a Red Tag that cost us $75 that they refuse to re-imburse for. The fail was their fault. We paid for this pole in 2 payments in February that to this day they dispute the 2nd payment. After several onsite visits they finally figured out how to install the pole correctly and we got a Green Tag on May 14th... 3 months later. Now they say that we owe them $1137.50 and when I spoke with the female at the office she called me a liar. If I don't get a paid in full invoice today, I will be contacting my attorney. I have used ElectricMan twice. First time was in 2020... Since my home was built in the sixties, I had the electrical from my stove wired into my home and needed that removed and an outlet installed for my new gas cooktop. Mariano knew exactly what to do and was efficient. Second time was today. Daniel installed three ceiling fans in three bedrooms. Again, since my home is older, one of the bedrooms did not have an existing box or switch, so they also installed that for me. Just like other individuals posting, I was over charged. I was told that the light timer was $150, when I could have gone to Lowe's and purchased the same timer for $50. to change a smoke detector, wall plug and install a timer cost me $700. I guess I paid for the electrician to smoke his cigarette in the van, while he was looking for parts. lol. I asked the company to send me an itemized invoice and their reply was "As far as line item pricing, that is not the business model we use. We give a complete quote, which we have the customer sign before any work is done, as to avoid situations like this. We do not quote a 'per hour' price, as we quote per job. " The job included changing out a smoke detecto, wall socket and installing a timer $700. They also charge drive time. lesson learned...never will I use this company again read more

Did a good job and 24-7 is a plus but they definitely feel like they are on the higher end cost wise- $242 to require a fan (had to completely uninstall) and then $542 to replace all outlets when one cost $262 read more

No matter what happens call anyone else but do not call these people. Possibly the worst work done at the slowest time ever. Here is there game, the charge $60 to come look at the issue and no matter what it is charge $130 per item to fix. If the item might take more than 30 minutes they charge $260. So make sure you are well aware they charge to come to your house and then quote you a very high price. They make you sign something when they get there, unless you're an attorney don't sign it. So basically don't call this company. If they come at the end of the day the price is going way up. Because they already made their quota for the day. read more

Was quoted $99 to come out to check to see if a floor plug was working (it was carpeted over). Technician cut the carpet, checked that the plug was working and charged me $194 for 15 minutes - because that's the TOTAL MINIMUM they charge. Will not be using them again. read more

The electrician was courteous and was thorough. In case anyone wants to really know how the pricing works at least for a situation similar to mine $59 gets you 30 minutes of diagnostic $149 (per hour)for extended diagnosing of problems When all is said and done they had tier packages for their service at least 5 of them ranging from "band-aid" and yes it was actually labeled "band aid" in the tier list to platinum package. Costing $1000+ to $2000+. to which I said no thanks you can find a tradesman for a fraction of the cost. the one star is of course for the nice electrician not the company he works for. read more

Was able to speak with Nick a few days ago about some work I needed done, I explained the situation and told him I had a few pictures. He told me to email the pictures and would give me a call as soon as he reviewed them. Based on the pictures, he as able to give me his honest opinion about the work that needed to be done. He suggested that I not have any work done, instead just check on the electrical panel periodically. I appreciated the honest advice from an electrician, as I have no background in this department. They got me a $60 quote to diagnose the problem and additional dollars to fix the problem for which they are going to waive the $60 diagnosis cost. which i agreed. Couple of electricians walked in to fix the electrical switch issue. After 30 mins one of them initiated a conversation about additional $195 because it exceeded the 30 mins of diagnosis time ( which they did not mention in the 1st place). at 45 mins they found out a simple problem with the switch wiring and they got me a final bill of $255 ( $195+$60) which was ridicules. i had to argue with them for the unexpected cost. Please be transparent with your customers. Either be upfront about the expected cost of service or lower your prices. read more

Ceiling fan stopped working after ONCOR power outage. ElectricMan diagnosed a bad remote receiver and charged $90 for the visit. Reasonable price. They estimated receiver replacement $340, so I said no thanks the whole fan was only $250. I went online to find a replacement fan and found the receiver cost only $28 and was a simple replacement that I did myself in a few minutes. read more

Advice worth of gold! I needed a quick quote on fixing an electric panel. Called Electric Man, and explained the situation. He is so experienced he could tell by looking at pictures . So I sent him pictures of the panel, from an inspection report I had. Called me ten minutes later, with a quote and an advice on the situation, and different options I had. UPDATE to review: After speaking with the project manager at ElectricMan I have to say that our concerns have been largely remedied. They were able to update our invoice total based on comparable estimates and were very eager to make sure we were happy with the service. Overall, I felt like the technician and the management were both very respectful and reasonable in their approach to service. It sounds like they want to ensure pricing is more fair moving forward, a commitment that will hopefully benefit other customers as well. [my husband and i found Electricman on google where they seemed to have good reviews. i was very happy with the technician that came to the house and did the repair but was shocked to be charged $350 to replace 2 basic, 20 amp circuit breakers. The repair literally took 15 minutes. Similar to the folks below, i am disappointed in this price and wished we would have shopped around more as i have gotten estimates from others in the area for 125 total cost!! my husband is waiting for a call back from the company and i am hopeful this will be fixed]. read more

We had 2 fluorescent lights that were not working in our office (bad ballasts). After receiving a quote for over $900 from another company, I started looking for an alternative IMMEDIATELY! I contacted ElectricMan today and about 1 hour later received a call back from Nick. He understood that we needed something done ASAP, and placed us first on the list as an alternate. To my surprise, I received a call from the tech Brian stating that he would be there at 2:45 the same day! By 3:15, the ballasts were replaced and the final price was over 50% less expensive than the other quote! I requested a quote for a bedroom ceiling fan to be replaced. The old one had been removed and the same size brace and box left in place. Not only do they not respond in a timely manner but this is the response/quote I got: "Sight unseen, replace c-fan and install proper brace and box with you having the brace and box, $329". Loved this team!! I needed a Ring doorbell wired in and currently have a NuTone intercom/doorbell. Isaac & Raphael hooked me up! I was giving Isaac a bit of grief about door-chime placement. Updated review: From 5stars to 2... I used these guys for a second time recently and didn't have the best experience. I think the quality of work is good (at least that's what another electrician told me yesterday when he came to do some for me yesterday). Brian came out from ElectricMan both times as I requested him for the second job. On the second trip I found it odd and off putting that he started playing music and singing inside my house without any concern for someone being asleep or working or whatever. I shouldn't have to ask someone to respect my house when he's working in it. When doing some work outside another technician complained of "stepping in dog s#!t 3 times. There was dog s#!t everywhere" and he kept saying the actual word and complaining about it in front of me. I looked and there was only mud from a recent rain, something I can't control. While I don't expect the same level of professionalism from an electrician as I do from say a lawyer or physician, I do expect some degree of decent behavior and language in my house and in my presence. So the work is fine but the other stuff is not and that has cost then my future business. This was the worst experience we've ever had . The technician was an hour and a half late, was to be there between 12:30 and 4:30 and it was 6 pm before he showed up . He had to hold his pants up the entire time , he couldn't have climbed a ladder if his life depended on it . To change out one dryer plug was gonna cost over $1,000.00 . The bottom line: this was a botched job and the company left my family holding the bag unless we paid to fix their poor work. This was a classic example of a company doing a sub-par job. After they were done, they said it "was the best we can do," and made us sign off on the work. The work was clearly incorrect, below standard, and an eyesore. Notwithstanding, they said if we did not let them go, they would just keep "spinning the dial" charging us by the hour (approximately $200/hr). When we called their boss/supervisor for an explanation, he acknowledged the work was done incorrectly, but said that was "all we can do" without additional payment, and of course took the position we should not have let their employees leave. Every bit of their work now needs to be removed, repaired, and replaced by a competent contractor. I'm sure the company will come up with a response to this that sounds legitimate. I posted so I wouldn't look back and say I didn't warn people. You can be the judge. read more

We had a Federal Pacific electric panel in our mid 1970's home. I called Nick and the crew to come out for a free estimate and signed it that day. The reason we signed that day is because we felt the information he gave us was very well researched and true. He also gave a very fair price to do the work. Two days later his crew showed up with permits from the City of Garland and started to work. Within 5 hours later he had the new panel and a surge protected installed. After the work was done the City of Garland was called out and the work passed with flying colors. His team worked very well together and were very professional. They handled all of the communication between the City of Garland and TXU so I did not have to worry about permits and phone calls. read more

ElectricMan saved us on the day we were moving into a new house. Breaker box was not resetting so lights in the master bdr and closet were out and we needed to install closet changes before movers arrived. The owner worked us in on short notice and Isaac arrived within 90 min of my urgent call - quickly diagnosed the issue (our painter removed an old smoke detector, patched the ceiling and painted, but managed to leave wires touching which was shorting out the breaker - but that's another kind of Yelp review!). Isaac was totally professional, caring and careful about keeping our just cleaned new home as untouched as possible. While he was at it, he even installed a light fixture and took out a light bulb base from of another ceiling fixture that someone had damaged badly in previous attempts. I used The Electric Man to find a solution to a vent-a-hood issue that had gone on far too long. They simply ran a new line to the thing and it's done and fixed, no more messing with the thing. I was very satisfied with the competent work that was done. I called back because my fountain in front of my house is not working properly. They suggested a possible solution that I could do so they wouldn't have to come out and spend my money unnecessarily--this is the mark of a truly great company. They tried to educate me and give me solutions before spending my money. These guys are terrific and easy to deal with. This company has some of the most professional, personable, honest and caring group of workers that I have ever come across in my many years of real estate investing. I can do most of this work myself but really have no time left to do it so I always have 10,000 questions, and all were answered exactly as they should have been.
