Gotten my hair cut here 2 times. The first time was a year ago. I thought I'd give the place another shot, but unfortunately both of my experiences were pretty terrible. The guy at the front seemed cool and somewhat friendly. Colby (the barber) was incredibly unfriendly and acted like he wanted nothing to do with me. I tried starting conversation multiple times and he would give me a 1 or 2 word answer and end it there. He spent 10 minutes max total on my hair AND beard. I could have cut my own hair better. And after all that, he charged me $25($15 Yelp voucher plus an additional $10!! I can't speak for the other guys in the shop, but it is pretty awesome that you get a beer while you wait. The beer is the only redeeming quality about my experiences. Personally, I like going to barber shops to get a nice, unrushed haircut and have some great laughs and good conversation. Was not impressed. Management seemed to lack an understanding of basic customer service. I paid $12 for a yelp deal. The deal expired but the certificate retained it's $12 value. Now, I had offered to pay the difference since their prices had changed. Their haircuts are now $17,which isn't anything crazy priced, but doing the math the total would be $5. I have no qualms with paying the full price for a service. My issue is that prior to getting the cut, I showed the person my certificate and she said she would honor it. That wasn't the case and when it was said and done, she said that "well.. Then I'd have to pay that $12 if I let you use this". My issue isn't paying for the haircut, my issue is that $12 shouldn't be a cost for losing a customer. Now onto the haircut. I'm used to having barbers who would engage in conversation with me while cutting my hair. My particular barber did not, so I figured he was just really focused on the little details. After reviewing the haircut (wanted a slick back look but left with an undercut) I had a lot of strands and the line up looked rushed even though the barber did take his time. I would've been better off cutting my own hair and saving my time and money rather than deal with this. read more

Walk in, cool vibe, 4 barbers standing by their chairs. Heavy set dude asks if I have an appointment, uhhhhh appointment? And he says "uh oh." Its 10 Am at a barber shop, I'm the first one there on a Wednesday and I need an appointment? He says I can't get a hair cut for at least 30 minutes. Let me remind you there isn't a single soul here to get a hair cut or in the parking lot, just myself. I say wow really okay, is this a salon or a barber shop? I take my business elsewhere, forever. The place is real down to earth and you can tell they care alot about the quality . one refreshing thing is they are not fake . they are genuine and not trying to be something they are not. This is seriously such an awesome place. I didn't know what to expect, really, when I first popped in, but I left with a great haircut and a light buzz from the free beer they give you while you're getting snipped. I was thinking, "Man, this is.... this is like the manliest place the get your haircut: Tattoos, haircuts and beer and the option of getting a hot shave." True disappointment. When I read the reviews and heard the concept, I had to give it a shot. I went in for a simple 4 on the top, 2 on the side, fade in high. As I was telling the barber what I wanted, he was acting like he already knew! I knew he was going to mess it up from the beginning and yet still let him go at it. I kept trying to make convo because again I love the concept of a kick back tattoo and barber shop where u can converse. My experience with Electric Haven has been a total mixed bag (the only reason I gave 2 instead of a single star). First thing to note: when asked, I specified that I wanted a high and tight fade with a hard part, leave some length on top. Simple, generic, pretty common for most barbers. First cut: Spot on. Awesome. Very happy. Exactly what I wanted. Etc. Second cut (same guy as the first cut): same thing, good to go. Third cut (different guy): Asked me what we were doing today, I told him just looking for a trim (was $10 the first time I got one with a much different hair style a few months ago, quick, easy). He proceeds to give a complete "hair cut". If I knew he was going to give me a full cut I would have told him what I specified the previous 2 times. So I walked out without a fade (just even length) and even though if you took a half a second to see that I had a hard part previously, he leaves it as is. Not very happy after this but less than pissed because I "know" there're others there that are good and it's fixable in the short term. Round 4: I don't know what happened but this is the anvil that broke the camel's back. Same guy as 1 and 2. Told him the same thing as before along with specifying (H&T fade, hard part). He 1 guards me all around, next to zero fade. Hard part isn't even all the way through (not sure you can even call it a hard part since there's no length to speak of on one side of it. It's pretty much a line in my head). Took me shorter than normal in the top back. When he gave me the mirror when he was done I knew there was zero that could be done to fix it other than father time it so I just bit my tongue. If I didn't know any better it was along the lines of a practical joke or he just didn't want me back as a customer. Either way, what's done is done. Paid, with tip (I tip well, always). Not sure what's going on with this place but I'm not going to roll the dice and hope I don't crap out again. There are other options. It's a shame too because it's a decent shop. They play good music and the place is decorated right. The staff in general just doesn't seem overly stoked to be there at all. That along with the uncertainty of the outcome I can't see myself darkening their door again. read more

I've been here a bunch of times before for George and was okay with it. Came back today around noon made an appointment with George at 1pm which was totally fine because I had a busy day and errands to run. I got here around 12:55pm and I walked out at 1:15pm because of the long 30min wait which would have made me late for work if I stayed for the likely 30-40mins haircut. The frustrating part was that it was postponed for so long because of a conversation he was having with his client about the Endgame movie while I was waiting for him. This place definitely needs a form of a secretary personnel because there's really no feel of organization, everyone seems to be going with the flow rather than following their bookings. I will say that some of the other barbers were asking me if I had an appointment or was just a walk in which was great but if only George had took the time to look around and realize he had a client waiting. Now I have to find a new barber Part Two: Came in today 9/27/19 and got a sick haircut from Tyler definitely redeemed the shop. When we finished told him it was a comp hair cut but George had no clue what I was talking about but still honored it. Coming back with Tyler soon. read more

The first 3 times were great. This last time was not good. Asked for a simple fade with a little trim off the top, but that's not what happened. The "fade" was even all over, and whoever the guy with the 3 nose rings is, he seemed pretty snooty unlike his usual demeanor. Maybe should have explained what I wanted in more detail. The haircut took less than 10 minutes, yet he took his sweet time on the customer prior. Not to mention, this was after waiting a long ass time and watching them all take a smoke break WHILE there were still customers inside, including me. My sisters and I were visiting our dad for the weekend. We decided we wanted to get ink done. We were looking at different places on yelp and found this one. I originally wanted to go in and get work from Adam because I was looking at his color work online and it was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately, he was across seas and not in to do work. We decided to go in anyway and chat with the artist who was in since my sister wanted a fairly simple black and grey design and the shop minimum was reasonable. When we arrived Chango was in and she chatted with him and looked at his work. My sister really wanted me to get something as well. After looking at his work, I was confident in his ability so we decided to get matching ink. He did a great job and was very friendly. I love the work and it wasn't very painful (for either of us)....although that might vary person to person. I would definitely go back to him, especially when our younger sister is 18 so she can get her work done. They also do shaves and haircuts and give complimentary beer. If I was a man, I would definitely take advantage of those services. read more

Wade gets traditional hair cuts and can mold a great pomp. The tattoo artisits are all cool and creative blokes. They do solid custom work. Been going there for 2 and a half years, Shadrack is my barber and I highly recommend him. My cuts are always perfect, staff is solid. Don't listen to the Whiney yelpers, you got a bad haircut cuz you didn't know what you wanted and you weren't specific. It's not a hair salon don't expect to vent all your issues and complain that no one wants to listen. I won't go anywhere else no matter what I'm a customer for life. I've had a few different guys cut my hair here and I've always gotten a good haircut but Rick and Justin have been my favorites to go to. Good classic barbershop feel and traditional barbershop cuts. Everyone seems to know what they're doing and that's rare at most shops nowadays. Price as of now is $20 which is decent and the best way to make sure you get in is to make an appointment but sometimes you can get in without one. Definitely a good consistent cut here! Also, they have their own line of pomades and a few others with some beard oils, t-shirts, etc. All cool stuff read more
