Anyways, I loved their shop they had signs everywhere with the cutest legit saying plus the ones that let people know what's policy!! GoldenBoy got a razor cut for his mustache and soul patch which was all on point he was super satisfied cause you know how guys be. He also got a haircut and tapper line up and yeah what a nice shop. All in all they were very open and friendly, you didn't get the why you come here type look or vibe which was hella okay they with the cutz. Dudes were super chill, always cool to take Walk ins and they got a good mix of music playing. I am unsure of his name but the second to last dude with glasses cuts my hair and he's pretty solid. Definitely my go to shop when I can't make it out to my barber. Last time I went it is cash only but they got an ATM in the back. Definitely recommend bringing $40-60 for your cut + tip if you're not trying to pay the atm fees. read more

Went in for a cut today with my guy Tim and it came out clean. After getting home and showering and styling it myself, I realized the top wasn't how I wanted it (I should've known with my thick hair style). I called the barbershop and Tim was able to take me in later to get the top cut more for me. I was already grateful he took me in with his packed schedule, but what is making me write this review is not charging me for another full cut (which many barbers may not do if I'm coming back same day), but he wasn't accepting a tip either, which showed his humble and professional attitude! read more

I've been going to Brigades for 3 years now. Average price @ $30, but they always do a great job. WAY better than the chains that might charge a few dollars less. Allison is the best in my mind's eye, but I've had haircuts from a few of the others, most recently Ethan, and they have always done a very good job as well. Ethan did great for the first time with a new client, actually. They can get a tad bit busy, and you somewhat need to make reservations a week or two in advance (suggestion there). But, their online system works well, and it's just a really good barbershop all around. Barbers who actually know what they're doing and give a dang, especially for LT clients who tip decently. Fast, friendly, GREAT music on the stereo, fair price. I will say I'm 95% sure it's cash only, so keep that in mind. GREAT place for a haircut though. read more

This was by far the best haircut experience that I have ever had. Erick was so kind and thorough. He clearly cares about doing a quality job. I left feeling like a million bucks. He taught me a new way to style my new haircut and I have had several great comments about how I look. They were also very understanding when we realized it was cash only. This is one of the first places I found when I first moved to AZ a few years back. I have always gotten great cuts here, but found their cash only policy frustrating to say the least. Over time, I have since moved out of tempe and have made the drive every 3 weeks or so to get cut, but I was last in there a few weeks ago and saw notice they are raising prices. Driving a distance? no biggie - the cuts were great and affordable which made pay cash also worthwhile, but I think with this change - the drive is no longer worth my time or effort to actually get cash in my hand when I could Venmo the same. Anyway - all this to say, I just won't be making the effort to return when I can get a similar haircut closer to hime for cheaper from someone who takes plastic... or anything on top of cash. read more

First time I've been in this place told him what I wanted got a $30 haircut. My sides were uneven. He didn't even show me the back of my hair when the cut was done and they usually stand in front of you and get an alignment on both sides well it was uneven !!, I'll never go there again back to the drawing board. I'll go back and get my $16 haircut that way if they screw up at least go back and have them redo it., I don't know why very difficult to find a good barber back to the drawing board again!!! This place is amazing. Super chill atmosphere with awesome decor. They offer you a water or beer on the house while you wait. Staff was all very friendly and price was great, definitely been charged more for less. Ashley is AMAZING and I would recommend her to anyone. She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered better than I could imagine. She shaved an awesome undercut design in. I couldn't be happier. I loved how they cut my guys hair. He has a ton of cowlicks so if you cut too short it's the worst. This cut is manageable and shows off his curls. I love it!! Guys here are super nice and cool. I'll probably try them all out before settling on just one barber, they all seem more than capable based on my observations. Pro tip: Make an appointment. Don't get a haircut by Ren if you're queer or POC lol. He was immediately cold and distant. I asked for an undercut and he seemed annoyed at the fact that I wanted to see how he sections my hair before he literally buzzes it off, I really don't think that's too much to ask. He also had no idea how to handle textured hair and I don't think he even had the right tools to properly section my hair. The lines are not straight at all from the back. I saw great pictures of undercuts before coming here but clearly not everyone in the shop can do that it seems. It should be made clear who can do what kinds of services. I could honestly excuse that if he was actually welcoming and willing to work with me. Most of the others in the shop seemed nice but I have no idea what Ren's problem was. read more

I give this shop five stars for a few reasons... being a first time customer I always look for some basic business principles. 1. They were very welcoming, polite & had a good vibe. 2. Very clean establishment & trendy 3. They were Client mindful/professional- this one is hyper important! My teen had a bad experience with a barber at another shop & since then he is very apprehensive when it comes to cutting his hair. The gentleman that cut his hair here was nice & tried striking a conversation with my teen, but the flow of conversation didn't go very far my kid is shy & a bit of an introvert. I appreciated the effort though. :) 4. As far as craftsmanship I think they are great at what they do... my kid looked so handsome! & I don't just say that because I see him through "mom eyes" lol But because the cut was clean! Note- The reason I came here is because I need a new barber for my son, but more than that I needed someone that would make him feel comfortable. Someone that he could make a connection with since he is sensitive due to the last negative experience he had. In one word, this place is real, there are multiple talented barbers in this shop, and I have been cut by almost all of them before deciding to stick with Timmy. Best thing about the shop is the haircut you leave with, but while you're there you are guaranteed good conversation, free beer, and some killer tunes! I've had two times where Tim saved my life with getting me in with a cut. Not only Tim, but all the guys here at Brigade do solid work. Atmosphere is always relaxed and location around ASU campus makes it easy to get a cut during my busy school schedule. Definitely a welcoming vibe when I first came in to get cut. My favorite part of these guys is the appointments you can book in advanced. I can make sure my spot isn't taken and I'll always get a cut by Tim. Brigade came highly recommended by my old roommates, but I previously lived in Scottsdale and never found myself down here. Recently moved to Tempe and stopped by yesterday on my way home. My first visit was awesome and wont be my last. Walked in, barber in first chair was friendly and told me they could currently accommodate walkins so I threw my name on the board. Everyone seemed friendly, place was clean, and loved the vibe. Felt like I was back in the skateshop getting a haircut. Johnny took me back to his chair, asked a lot of detailed questions on how I wanted my haircut and beard trimmed, and went to work. Outcome was great and the attention to detail was not missed. Did not spend any time on my haircut, did not ask any questions about how I wanted it done, ignored everything I asked him to do, would not show me my hair while he was doing it, and even what he did is lazy and bad work. I am SUPER particular with my hair and every time he always nails exactly what I want. Super cool dude, with a great personality and literally can talk just about anything with him! The entire crew is dope and extremely kind and welcoming! They've worked so incredibly hard since the day they opened the shop, happy to be see such a transformation.
