I've been coming to Uptown Barbershop regularly for a while now, and it's consistently a great spot. The barbers are relaxed, easy to talk to, and booking online is smooth. Just a heads-up for first-timers: parking can be pretty tight, and you'll want to explain your haircut in detail, don't take any shortcuts. If you're vague, you'll end up with a default cut you might not love, but as long as you communicate what you want, you'll leave with a clean cut that you had in mind. read more

Shlomo is an excellent barber. I had an appt with him for the first time yesterday and he provided the service and care you want. Skin fade with clean up on top + nose wax. He did a few extra things too. he offered to clean up my eyebrows, waxed my unibrow, waxed the black heads from my nose and cheeks finishing with a hot towel. Razor shaved the back of my hairline down my neck. Lastly he used handheld massager on the neck and shoulders for a few minutes. I tipped him 25% on the app and an additional 15$ at the shop because the service was so good. If you care about your look and want quality service I highly recommend Shlomo. read more

Finding a new barber stresses me out, and downtown Phoenix has been a streak of mediocre (or straight-up bad) cuts for me. After my regular barber suddenly wasn't at my usual spot anymore, I had to expand the search outside of downtown. I found Uptown Barbershop through Yelp/Google reviews and decided to roll the dice. I booked with Boris specifically because I saw he does beard trims and styles that match what I like. Boris absolutely nailed it. He took the time to understand what I wanted, delivered a clean, sharp haircut, and the beard trim was on point and shaped perfectly without taking off too much. Most importantly, the beard is wife-approved, which is basically the ultimate review. If you're picky about your hair/beard and don't want to gamble on "good enough," book Boris. I'll be back. read more

Shlomo is hands down one of the best barbers I've ever had. He's consistent, professional, and takes his time to make sure every detail is right. I never feel rushed, and I leave happy with my haircut every single time. The shop is clean, welcoming, and has a great vibe. If you're looking for a barber who genuinely cares about his work, book with Shlomo! read more

Drove 25-30 minutes for them to tell me " they could not cut my son's hair until the their scheduled appointment showed up. There were 3 barbers in, and she was free we had been in the lobby at least 5 minutes until anyone acknowledged us. There was no one else in the lobby. Left disappointed. Walk ins aren't welcome. read more

I've been going to Uptown Barbarshop for a couple of years now, as it is close to my office and provides a lot more than just a haircut. They've got some expert barbers, provide shaves and have a few amenities like popcorn, beer and arcade games to play while you wait. The environment is comfortable, and they've got TVs to watch and good music on the stereo while you're getting the hair did. My only gripe is that they can't magically make my bald spot go away lol. Good stuff at Uptown Barbershop! read more

Been getting mine and both my boys hair cut here for years. Always happy with the result, but big shout out to Sefi. There's just something about how he cuts my hair. He just dow a "perfect" haircut for me, every time. He's friendly, listens well, efficient and overall just a great barber. I'll always come to this place for my cuts but if Sefi is in, I'll always ask for him. Thanks always! read more

I'm beyond impressed with Uptown Barber! My husband was looking for a new place after using a mobile barber for years and saw Jacob. Jacob did an incredible job--great haircut, straight razor for the edges and neck, hot towel, and even a massager. My husband was so impressed! The real standout, though, was Edgar. I brought my two sons (3 years and 10 months), and when Edgar had a cancellation, he didn't hesitate to fit us in. Cutting hair for babies and toddlers is no easy task--they're wiggly, unpredictable, and often uncomfortable in the chair--but Edgar handled it like a pro. He was so patient, gentle, and attentive, taking his time to make sure they both felt at ease and happy throughout the process. After years of going to a kids' salon nearby, I gave Uptown Barber a try, and the experience was on another level. The service, attention to detail, and care they showed my family were incredible. We've found our new haircut home! Edgar and Jacob, thank you for being a local gem--keep up the amazing work! read more

Finding a new barber can be a pain, I walked in to a full schedule and before I could pick a day and time for an appointment Boris volunteered to take between his appointments I'll definitely be coming back and making this my my go to spot thank again read more

New guy turned me into a pineapple right before an important event I had to attend. I asked for a fade but he just shaved my sides completely without asking me if everything was okay. Why would he even use the massage gun on me when I could barely feel it. He was definitely massaging the towel instead of my shoulder. Also, barbers here usually ensure that my shoes are clean from hair. This guy used the blower for like a couple of seconds and called it a day. Normally, I give $20-$35 tip but this time I'm regretting leaving a $5 tip because I think that was $4 more than what I should have given. This is the worst haircut I've ever gotten from them. The two usual barber I normally go to left and they were really great at giving suggestions unlike this new guy. His answers were literally "I don't know" and "you're the one who has to wear it so I don't know" when I asked him for suggestions. You're a professional/expert in this field, you should know better. It's like going out to a nice restaurant and asking the server for suggestions based on your interests. They don't just say "I don't know" rather they take their time to explain why they highly suggest an item. read more

Great shop! Great barbers and very reasonable pricing. I have been three times now and see Marianna. She has been excellent. Listens to how I'd like my hair cut, has a great fade and I always come out clean. I would definitely recommend! read more

Old barber gave me a skin fade when I didn't ask for it. He shaved way too much and too high of my hair and it wasn't even properly lined up. I went to a different barbershop that my friends recommended and the owner said this old guy fucked up my hair so bad that it's either I can only get a buzz cut or let it grow for a month or two. read more

My son who now 13 has been going to this barber shop since he was 6 years old. The haircut only lasted 7 minutes which I was in shock while only using one electric razor blade with a comb on the sides and just a quick scissor snips to the top. For many years the past barbers who he went to used several blades, took their time even on the cuts on top and around the ears. This time around was different, and I was not impressed for this 7 minute cut. I'm not a negative person amd truly this is my first time giving a review. The cut was not even, and around the wars still had several long hairs. It's a great shop however I don't think I'll be coming back. This experience I'm giving one star. read more

I gotta say I like this place very much. They always do a good job with my hair and also do a great job with my beard. It's a nice environment with a few large screen TVs to watch either while you wait or getting a hair cut. I like that they use warm shaving cream and use blades to finish up the perfect look. Once you are done they grab a warm towel that feels great to make sure you are all good. The cherry on top is they get you a quick massage once you are ready to make you feel like a million bucks. They have an electronic wait list that you sign up either when you get there or online to try to avoid waiting times. It allows you to choose who you want, add services you want, and add any additional people to the list. read more

This is the best barber shop in the valley, and Roman is the best barber I've ever met. When I moved to Phoenix a few years ago I started looking for a barber shop I liked and the search was over as soon as I found this place. I had a bunch of great haircuts from the barbers in the shop, but Roman is my go-to guy. Pro tip: go on their website and schedule an appointment (but double check the date of the appointment it gives you) Monday-Thursday. They're walk-in only Friday-Sunday, but expect a wait. read more
