I booked with Boris specifically because I saw he does beard trims and styles that match what I like. Boris absolutely nailed it. He took the time to understand what I wanted, delivered a clean, sharp haircut, and the beard trim was on point and shaped perfectly without taking off too much. Most importantly, the beard is wife-approved, which is basically the ultimate review. If you're picky about your hair/beard and don't want to gamble on "good enough," book Boris. I've been going to Uptown Barbarshop for a couple of years now, as it is close to my office and provides a lot more than just a haircut. They've got some expert barbers, provide shaves and have a few amenities like popcorn, beer and arcade games to play while you wait. The environment is comfortable, and they've got TVs to watch and good music on the stereo while you're getting the hair did. My only gripe is that they can't magically make my bald spot go away lol. New guy turned me into a pineapple right before an important event I had to attend. I asked for a fade but he just shaved my sides completely without asking me if everything was okay. Why would he even use the massage gun on me when I could barely feel it. He was definitely massaging the towel instead of my shoulder. Also, barbers here usually ensure that my shoes are clean from hair. This guy used the blower for like a couple of seconds and called it a day. Normally, I give $20-$35 tip but this time I'm regretting leaving a $5 tip because I think that was $4 more than what I should have given. This is the worst haircut I've ever gotten from them. The two usual barber I normally go to left and they were really great at giving suggestions unlike this new guy. His answers were literally "I don't know" and "you're the one who has to wear it so I don't know" when I asked him for suggestions. You're a professional/expert in this field, you should know better. It's like going out to a nice restaurant and asking the server for suggestions based on your interests. They don't just say "I don't know" rather they take their time to explain why they highly suggest an item. read more

Old barber gave me a skin fade when I didn't ask for it. He shaved way too much and too high of my hair and it wasn't even properly lined up. I went to a different barbershop that my friends recommended and the owner said this old guy fucked up my hair so bad that it's either I can only get a buzz cut or let it grow for a month or two. read more

My son who now 13 has been going to this barber shop since he was 6 years old. The haircut only lasted 7 minutes which I was in shock while only using one electric razor blade with a comb on the sides and just a quick scissor snips to the top. For many years the past barbers who he went to used several blades, took their time even on the cuts on top and around the ears. This time around was different, and I was not impressed for this 7 minute cut. I'm not a negative person amd truly this is my first time giving a review. The cut was not even, and around the wars still had several long hairs. It's a great shop however I don't think I'll be coming back. This experience I'm giving one star. read more

I gotta say I like this place very much. They always do a good job with my hair and also do a great job with my beard. It's a nice environment with a few large screen TVs to watch either while you wait or getting a hair cut. I like that they use warm shaving cream and use blades to finish up the perfect look. Once you are done they grab a warm towel that feels great to make sure you are all good. The cherry on top is they get you a quick massage once you are ready to make you feel like a million bucks. They have an electronic wait list that you sign up either when you get there or online to try to avoid waiting times.
