Austin is my go-to barber who always delivers and listens to any changes that I want to make - if you want a sure thing go to Austin!! Quality old fashioned style haircuts with fresh razor shave if you want it. Good vibes, good music, and great prices. Last I checked $20 for a cut. I went there a week ago and I got one of the most uneven haircuts in my life, the guy cutting my hair seemed like he was just grabbing hair and cutting randomly which showed in the result as my hair looked worse than it did when I left. Came in for the first time a couple days ago. I was stoked to get a cut here because I heard a lot of great reviews about the barbers. Me and my buddy went in, walked up to the counter where the sign in sheet was, and at first I didn't see the old dude sitting on the computer until he screamed HELLLLLOOOO at us from behind his screen. Everyone in the place stopped and stared in silence at us and the barbers looked embarrassed. The guy didn't even greet us but sure didn't hesitate to scream at us disrespectfully like I was supposed to know what his stupid sheets were for. I have never been treated so horribly as a paying customer. How does that old man expect to keep customers if he treats us like we're idiots. This place is fantastic. First of all, I was recommended to come here and get a haircut by J.D.B. and upon arrival was greeted by some really nice people. Almon had me sit right down and poured me a "cold one" even before we got started. That type of service is hard to find these days. While getting my haircut, I was looking around the parlor and was noticing some really cool tattoos and artwork on the walls.. I didn't have a tattoo, but thought why not give it a rip. I am a huge Red Sox fan and Josep, the tattoo artist, showed me some designs he thought would look great. After about a minute or two of deciding on whether I should get it, I was strapped in and ready to go. He gave me a really cool tat and it only took about a half hour. I highly recommend this place for either a great cut and shave or a really cool tattoo. 5 stars all day. The particular barber who I have been frequenting, Nathan, does an absolutely fucking perfect job. He knows exactly what I want, how I like the cut to look, and is all around talented in what he does. Not to say that the others aren't fuckin great either, because that is not the case. I just personally prefer Nathan as my barber. I recommend him specifically, and as well as all the others in Electric Haven, to anyone who is looking to get a nice, classy, dapper, or any other good looking cut. I looked into many places before getting my first tattoo and a place to get my following ones. Let me tell you how amazing this gentleman are! I worked right around the corner from there as a manager for cold stone and they are always polite and kind men and respectful. They are all very clean and well groomed. I don't know about you if youd want some grease ball giving you a tattoo with dirty fingers? None of these guys are. They are more than happy to help out any one from their first tattoo to a person whos had them before. At electric haven they make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The owner Adam is an awesome dude, he did mine personally and made sure I was okay the whole time. After going here I have referred all my friend and family to Electric Haven for Hair cuts and Tattoos. If the amazing tattoos and hair cuts dont get you in, then the free beer might if your 21+. A real great place, friendly staff who make you feel at ease while getting your artwork done. I have been to other tattoo joints and usually feel out of place. Not here! Living in the Valley for years i always went to multiply places for haircuts and always was unsatisfied i found this little gem hidden away in Tempe,tucked away in a small shopping center.First impression was not to bad i was greeted with a hello and offered a free beer for my wait.So I'm sitting there waiting and waiting andddd waiting.Im getting irritated at the wait time and then just when I'm about to leave the young barber calls me next and ask how i want my hair.We go thur the routine of me telling him how i want it and I'm not holding my breath cause first time haircuts usually aren't that good.Hair starts falling,clippers buzzing,scissors cutting,and then a hot shave to finish it all off.He ask if i want pomade and i say sure he rubs it thur my hair and starts combing it into a pompadour.He says ok and spins me around towards the mirror and im in awe cause he did an awesome job.i am now a loyal customer who drives from Apache Junction just to get my haircut.So if you need a pomp,gentlemens,or even a tattoo this is the place for you. read more

Been going here for a while and wanted to get my beard trimmed and shaped. My normal guy(Rick) wasn't available so figured I would try a new one since I had to get it done and decided to do a head shave as well. I showed him what I am wanting exactly and how I wanted my beard trimmed up a bit and shaped. My beard originally went down to my sternum and just wanted it brought up a bit above that. He cut over 4 inches off so now it is about 2" off my chin. I also asked him to square it off and instead he brought it to a point. On the head shave he didn't even get all my head. After I got home and looked closer, my beard was lopsided and my wife had to trim it up more and I had to completely re-shave my head because he couldn't even do it right. He was back and forth talking to his fellow barbers and would stop to mess around on his phone. I get it, you are an ex tattoo parlor so it is a little laid back, but SOME professionalism is good. Guy was more involved showing off for his buddies and being a dick then paying attention to what he was doing. Done with this place. read more

My experience with this shop was a few months back. I had moved recently so I needed to find a new shop to go to. Someone at work recommended I try this place out, so I did. Seemed like an okay place at first glance. A barber named "Shadrack" or something called me up to his chair so I took a seat. Told him I just wanted a low fade with an inch cut off the top. Keep in mind my hair on top is pretty long, enough to reach below my eyes. So yeah, I told him I wanted 1 inch cut off the top. The first thing he does is cut all my hair DOWN to 1 inch. I knew it right away, all of my luscious locks came falling down in front of me. How could he make that mistake? I told him what I had wanted when he was standing a foot in front of me. I didn't want to say anything. I paid, left, and started my search for a new shop. That was my first and last time there. I guess before I had went to Electric Haven, many of their highly skilled barbers had left and opened up a new shop in Tempe. I found that shop that same day and have been going there ever since. read more

you would never know it by looking at it but this is a diamond in the rough . in an old run down strip mall that seriously needs to new life breathed into it. this place doesnt look like much from the outside. but once you go in it's an all different world. ive tried a few other barber shops around town but they always just felt so sketchy and ghetto. this place is clean it has nice chairs. it has a well kept appearance and staff is not angry or aggressive but instead laid back and joke around. they even have a n64 to play while you wait lol. I went on a monday which is when they do walk ins only, from the sound of other peoples reviews is sounds like they didnt even bother checking out this places site or google it. cus mondays they dont allow appointment's but all other days they do and any place with respectable and good barbers will be booked solid, if they are not booked then they prob arnt good enough to bring back repeat clientele. . my barber was justin and all I came in for was a shave and to line up my beard , which had i gone to most places they would just try to get me in and out . instead he took time to chat with me and make sure he knew exactly what I wanted . and he gave me an awesome straight razor shave. they go all out and do the whole process correct including lotion before the shave and hot and cold towel treatments. (maybe my only complaint was the hot towel could have been hotter but thats a personal preference) justin really did an awesome job though , he told me all what he did and he took extra time and care when lining up my beard which is awesome to see and he had a good enough touch not to irritate my skin since I have acne scars. I am for sure gonna come back to him and get my hair cut here next time I need it. i cant vouch for any other barber at this place but if you want a clean environment with friendly staff and at least one for sure skilled barber check it out and ask for justin. read more

At 4:30 I called for a 5:00 appointment which was perfect cause I was 30 mins away from the shop. I got to the shop on time. But, I didn't like that the guy who I was scheduled with had just started working at the shop. It was nothing against him I just prefer someone who's more of a Electric Haven veteran. Apparently It wasn't a big deal though. So I just waited 10 mins for the other guy to finish up with his client. After that we introduced ourselves and talked a little and right way I knew he could help me get the look I wanted. Cause my biggest problem was I didn't know how to tell him what I wanted. So I ended up showing him a video on my phone of a guy with the hairstyle I was after.Amazingly he just went off that vid and it turned out to be the best haircut I've ever gotten. After thought I had questions about the pomades. Once again he was completely patient and answered every question I had. His name is Rick and my cool ass hair is all thanks to him. So I plan to always go to Electric Haven for all my haircuts! read more

I had come here months ago looking for a beard trim and they wisely told me to let me beard grow some more before shaping it. Now that I had a couple more inches I figured it was time to head back in for that trim. I called in at 10 am and was able to set an appointment for for 11 am over the phone. I got there a little early and they were very nice to me. When it came time for my appointment (with rick) I showed him some pictures of what I was looking for and he got started on the trim. he was very quick and made sure that I liked the look before cleaning up the edges of my beard and neck with a straight razor (so cool). Before he sent me on my way he asked me what I was doing to take care of my beard and gave me some really great advice on products and a care routine. The first time I came here these guys looked out for me before even though it meant I didnt spend money. I came back because of that and Im glad I did! I will definitely continue to come back to these guys as my beard grows and needs trimming/shaping. Thanks! read more
