I would expect much more from this place. The operation feels irresponsible. There are many downed trees and large boulders that are not marked, which makes it a very dangerous place to ski. Skiing is already a dangerous sport, but conditions like this add unnecessary risk. Instead of warning people of danger they are just post on social media about how great it is. What they should say is, be very careful it looks fluffy but there are big boulders underneath the snow everywhere!!!! No mention of that at all! Eldora is the reason we stopped skiing all together. It's disappointing because I expected a much higher level of care and safety. Instead, it feels like the priority is taking people's money rather than keeping guests safe. Shame on you, Eldora. This was my first skii resort experience and I had a great time. It was a little confusing on where to go at first to get situated with skii rentals etc but we figured it out . Place was super packed, even on a weekday! But it is the holidays! Resort had plenty of equipment lines moved quick. Locals only and it was a Subaru fest when we went. I can't believe we never went here before. I took 2 girls because it was part of their ski pass and they loved it. The snow pack was decent even towards the end of the traditional season. There is plenty of seating if you aren't skiing but it is a walk to the good lodge. The prices weee what you expect although the ski shop seemed higher priced than Loveland. I love the "hometown feel" of Eldora... It kind of feels like it's where the locals ski... they have all the amenities and it's nice and cozy... I brought my grandson for a snowboarding lesson, and it was so affordable. It was awesome... I was able to rent all the snowboard gear and was able to do a full day lesson which also included lunch... he had such a good time !!! My hubby and I were in the warming house and enjoyed Really good food... It's so fun to be at a place that has the hometown vibe.. my grandson enjoyed all the runs, and before you know it.. he will be a pro on the slopes read more

Spent Christmas Eve eve at Eldora for a half day session. Slopes were well maintained, no lines for lifts and plenty of staff visible if you needed assistance. I felt the ticket was a little steep in price (150 for 3.5 hours for lift ticket only purchased in advance) for a Monday but I understand it is what it is. Had the chicken pot pie in the lodge and it was great however they ran out of almost all hot food by 2pm in both lodges, which was disappointing. I felt it could've been *more* for charging the prices they do for lift and rentals. read more

Eldora was a wonderful place for our kids to learn skiing! Our 10 year old autistic son learned to ski in just two days (never skied before) with Maureen and Parker's help! Maureen was also my younger son's instructor the following day. She was exceptional!!! She was so understanding and patient with both of my boys! I felt at ease having her take care of them both. Ziggy was also my younger son's instructor the first day and my younger son loved him as well. Michelle at the ski rentals was outstanding too! Not only did she gave prizes out of her generosity and willing to share her own food when my younger son asked for it(lol), she went above and beyond to help my husband find my older son's shoes...! Eldora was just filled with kind and caring people. We've only been there for two days but felt welcomed as if we were family. Amazing place and will be back again for sure!! read more

My nephew had a freaking blast at this place. There was so many slopes to chose from. Everyone that worked here was so friendly! The food was delicious. I had a chicken pot pie that was piping hot the pastry on top was perfect on top. There was so much chicken inside and full of so much veggies. The wine was very tasty. The only thing I would say is DONT PUT RED WINE INE THE FRIDGE lol. They even were wondering who did that. It was all good I still drank it and it was delicious and I came back for seconds and thirds. I will be coming back to this ski resort it's an hour from my house. read more

For a mountain that is close and convenient and could have everything going for it, the experience is ruined by rude parking ops, lift operators, hosts, literally everyone. Given it many shots and every time is worse. Have not met a person that works here that is actually kind or helpful, they clearly would rather not be there and don't want people to enjoy their resort. I had a wonderful experience at Eldora ski resort. I am surprised about all the negativity and one / two star reviews. I have never been to or skied in Colorado before, so I have nothing to compare it to. Perhaps if I'd been at one of the bigger more well known resorts, I wouldn't have been as blown away by Eldora as I was. I am from outside of Philadelphia and have only skied in the Poconos before this. To me, the mountain was beautiful, huge, well groomed, well taken care, signed appropriately, and the snow was fluffy, soft, and a hundred times more comfortable than the PA snow. There were a ton of run options, and tons of connections to do different combinations of difficulties and views from top to bottom. The lodge was comfortable, with nice windows looking out over the slopes. The bartender wasn't very friendly, but she was quick and the beers were good. We each had the chili and an order of fries and tots. The chili was tasty and really hit the spot. The fires were pretty good, standard. The tots were not good. 99% fried shell with no potato inside. Felt like eating just fried batter. I bought a really cute t-shirt in the lodge with the bar. Purple tye dye / camo pattern. I also LOVE the cute little tree logo. Too cute. They should capitalize on that logo more. TL,DR I have nothing to compare it too, went on a weekday, am easily pleased, a moderate skier, and found Eldora to be absolutely perfect and beautiful - but pricey $$. **this reviews is from a rookie skier, and we went on a weekday when the crowds were thin** Benefits of ElDora 1. Close-ish to the airport. 1 hr 20 min from Denver airport, 40 min from Boulder, and closer to other towns on the way. 2. On the weekdays practically nobody is here, so it feels like you have the resort to yourself. 3. It can accommodate different skiing levels. So if you're traveling with a skiers who can do blues and blacks, but you want to do bunny and greens you're good. 4. They also have cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Protips: 1 Repeat from above- go on a weekday. Based on some reviews it's impossible on weekends. Tuesday is the least crowded day according to an instructor. Some reviews suggest that you get turned away on a weekend if the lots get full. 2. Rent your skis ahead of time. We looked up some places, and found skis for $25 a day, and picked them up on the way. Here at the resort they are closer to $75 after tax. 3. Sign up from private lessons rather than let a partner teach you. It's expensive but it will save your relationship, which is a lot more costly to disassemble. Private lessons book rather quickly, so make sure to get those online as soon as you know you're booking your trip. 4. Pack your own snacks. Food here is not the best, and you'll probably enjoy your meals more and feel more satisfied. 5. Bring a ton of water so you don't dehydrate. We had a water pack on our back. 6. If parking is plentiful, on the second day you can park right at the edge of the green and bunny slopes for easy access to your car. 7. Buy your slope tickets and if you get probates or ski lessons online before you show up. You will pay more if you just show up in person. 8. If you snowshoe or Nordic ski- a) take a map! It's a bit confusing, and easy to get off track. We did temporarily. Would recommend the lake loop, it's around 2.5 miles, feels like 5. If you find yourself climbing up too much on the way back you're probably started to go on another trails. You'll see plenty of signs on the way back on the trail that say "Nordic center this way". Plenty of orange squares on the trail to make sure you stay on track. 9. For Nordic skis and snowshoes and tickets, you can only purchase day of, not ahead of time, but they are relatively inexpensive. You don't need to rent snowshoes or Nordic skis elsewhere, though they were round $30 a day onsite, and $15 when we rented in town. Overall knocked it off one star because it's expensive. I think Loveland ski resort is another one close to Denver airport, but only has green slopes if you're a beginner wanting to save some money there another option to look into a retired ski instructor recommended while we were here. read more

Eldora had more up to date and modern ways of checking in for the slopes. The signup was a lot more organized and most of all EVERYONE was super nice. It was diverse and I didn't feel "out of place" at all. If I didn't hate flying I would go back yearly. I had a horrific experience at the Eldora Ski Resort on March 22, 2025. I tried to buy a lift ticket for my special needs grandson online the night before. Their website didn't offer one so I figured they must sell it at the ski area. When I arrived, I was advised that I had to buy a full day $199 ticket just for my grandson to do an estimated 3 runs on the beginner lift. I complained vehemently about that price. I was referred to the adaptive desk. The adaptive people only discuss equipment. They don't sell tickets and I was referred by them to Guest Services. The Guest Services office advised that I had been told correctly that I would have to purchase a full $199 adult day ticket. Other ski areas sell a beginner lift ticket for $20 or $30. I am taking my special-needs grandson to A-Basin this weekend. Their online beginner lift ticket is $30. Shame on the Eldora ski resort for being so extremely unreasonable in their beginner lift ticket pricing and their pretense of actually caring about beginners and adaptive skiers learning to ski. Their commitment to these future participants in the sport is a real sham. read more

I'll preface this updated review by acknowledging the positive infrastructure improvements that have been made since Powdr Corporation bought this mountain in 2016 - revamped septic and electricity, much improved bathrooms, a new high speed 6 pack lift on big mountain, and more... they've spent a lot and continue to do so and it shows. That's great. You can still ski here without struggling with I-70. That is still nice, but getting here has become it's own struggle due to multiple factors, probably including the mountain's "avoid I-70" ad campaign. In short, it has become a huge pain to get here due to the crowds and, in my opinion, the mountain is too small to handle it safely and the overcrowding greatly reduces the ski experience. You can still take the RTD bus here, but there are caveats. Bus service is greatly reduced and unreliable with many routes, including the NB route to the mountain, subject to frequent cancelation. Also, if you live in Nederland or Gilpin county and you want to catch the bus to avoid paying the single occupancy parking fee, you can't. It absolutely will be full when it reaches town. To the mountain's credit, they run shuttles to Boulder, but locals are ignored. If you drive, the lot fills quickly and road blocks go up, leaving a line of cars blocking the road through town. If you live in Nederland, it's hard to function. If you live in the town of Eldora and dare to leave home, good luck getting back. This is untenable. This mountain is on the Ikon pass in an unlimited capacity at the time of this review. That needs to change as the mountain is too small for this. There are plans to enlarge the parking lot, which sounds great on the surface, but the size of that lot limits the population on the mountain and that is necessary for safety. The big mountain is now overloaded with signage screaming at you about safely, but the underlying safety issue is overcrowding and that's a white elephant that isn't being considered likely for financial reasons. Even with the the additional terrain to be added with the proposed Jolly Jug lift, this is a small mountain and it isn't being treated as such. Honestly, at this point, I think it's just greed. I hope they prove me wrong. On the topic of safety, this mountain is subject to extreme winds. If there is no recent fresh snow, I personally will not ski Corona or Muleshoe as the wind from the divide whips over them and glosses them over wth ice in a dangerous way. Just a heads up. Also on the topic of safety and relating to user experience is the very extensive addition of terrain park features. First off, I support the addition of features. The "terrain park" that existed with the previous ownership was a joke and the addition was badly needed. However, the extent and location of these features has eaten up so much beginner terrain that it is difficult to transition to big mountain as a beginner. Not only are there so many features that you can no longer safely cut across the area, but the departments at this mountain do not appear to communicate with each other. Grooming of essential beginner terrain (e.g. skier right of Little Hawk lift, not groomed until late February of 2022) is being ignored for features like the Trick Ditch. It's not even possible to hit the connector from the bottom of Jolly Jug run (connecting big mountain to little mountain) without being tied up in terrain park. At a minimum, we need one real blue run (not Upper Bunnyfair - Corkscrew and the steep face of Sundance at a minimum) reserved without features for skiers just trying to learn basic shit. I think this mountain has forgotten it has a ski school, an adaptive program, and beginners. The short of it is that, unless you can go on a weekday and aren't a beginner, Eldora is no longer worth your time. It just takes up too much of it. read more

I've been enjoying Eldora for the past four years. First as a 4-pack lift ticket holder, then with my Ikon pass. It's conveniently located and convenient to get to. I can drive up with friends or relax and let the RTD do the work. Word to the wise, if you are driving up with friends make sure there are at least three of you. They've finally instituted a reward for true car poolers, allowing those with three or more to park closest to the main lift. If there are only two of you they'll usher you up to right where you can either await a shuttle or take a casual stroll (allowing your muscles and joints to warm up and get ready for an awesome day out on the slopes). Today we strolled, and we actually beat the shuttle to the main lift. There are a few areas here to enjoy, x-country skiing, learning/kiddie hill complete with a lift, and the main lift area. There are folks of all ages and abilities and friendly lift operators as well. The first aid building is very near the main lodge and main lift. Staff that work inside are patient, understanding, and kind. I had a tangle with taking a snowboard edge to the ribs last year so hobbled myself in to get checked out. There are multiple stores to shop in (one in the main lodge, the other in the side lodge/cafe building). There are multiple places to dine and two tiers of outdoor seating as well as Tv's to take in the game (if you really need to watch it that is). I've both brought my own lunch as well as dined in - usually going for fries and chicken fingers. There are fun activities to take in during the season and during the off season. My favorite being when people skied onto and sometimes across water the last day of the season (it was a few years back, not sure they do this anymore). Late this spring I took part in a snowy tire scavenger hunt. Tho I didn't find the tire I sure had fun trying. This fall there was a clean up expedition with food and beer - sorry to have missed that one! Subaru often hosts events there as well. The one I attended had make your own s'mores, a subaru swag tiny home, fire pits, and beverages to boot. The slopes are varied in steepness and terrain. There are also a few different options for trees. Overall I really enjoy this mountain and look forward to returning many more times. read more

A day pass at Eldora costs the same as a day pass at Breckenridge. Reread that sentence. Breckenridge is a world-class resort with world-class runs and experiences set in a gorgeous town in one of the most visually breathtaking spots in the world... even compared to the raw beauty all around it. This is not. And there are nearby resorts that are much cheaper with better experiences. If you're going to charge top dollar like Eldora does, your service had better be impeccable, your customer service world-class, and you'd better staff the best people available. None of these three boxes are checked for Eldora. Charging high prices means paying a few more bucks an hour to get knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful staff. Charging high prices means you're adding a cushion to prevent visitors from leaving your resort with a bad taste in their mouth situations when something goes wrong. Visits to Eldora are too frustrating and full of annoyances... especially knowing visits to virtually any other resort are always, in my experience usually more affordable and nearly always more pleasant. I see no reason to give this place a penny of your own money. read more

Ok, so I love the small feel of this place however (being covid Neurotic) I was slightly surprised how many people it seemed to still be on the mountain with reservations in place and how long it took for the initial lift. They are allowing you to ride with whom you traveled with so that added to the delay, so I guess it is definitely worth the wait and was to be expected. I get it businesses need to be open, and I am not poo-pooing them at all. I am more so writing this for those are a little nervous about Covid and skiing. People seemed to be all over the place even at less capacity and the lines were police yourself, which meant people directly behind you and in groups just hanging out. Again, I am not negatively commenting about this resort, I am just giving a reference to those who might be curious about how ski season is working here. The staff was amazing, parking was easy as they meet you at the front gate and scab your parking reservations, so all in all they are doing the best they can given Covid a second ski season. read more

Not sure why my review disappeared. We arrived about 11 am on a weekday and parked way way out. That is OK, but the shuttle bus drivers were 'on break' and with a five year old the long walk was NOT FUN!. Finally got to base area only the see beginner area was another 10 minute walk. NOT FUN. Skiing was fun, operators were awesome but NO POTTIES at biginner area.Another 5+ minute walk with a 5 year old. Then try to eat lunch or take a break. This resort is incredibly windy and quite hard for beginners to learn on as my husband found out. There's also a large gap between green and blue trails. I found the green to be VERY EASY. Basically bunny slopes. But the blues here to me were comparable to Durango blacks. I didn't even attempt a black here! The staff was super friendly and helpful though! read more

For proximity to Denver, it gets 5 stars. For comparison of size to anything else in Denver, it's a 2 star and somehow that evens out to a 4 star. Absolutely horrible layout to get tickets and gear! Expect to wait and swear for 1.5hrs+ in a cramped and stuffy gift shop for rentals. The lines weaved haphazardly around coatracks, packed full of frustrated people. They had only two people issuing skis and 10 people issuing boots, creating the bottleneck. Then upon returning the equipment, we carried it to the counter, where they needed to individually check in each piece in order in pairs, and then they expected us to gather it all up again and take it to the individual issue spots around the store.... No fricken way! If you want to be stressed to the gills renting equipment, head on over. read more

If I could give management a negative star review I would. We took our 4 year snowboarding for the first time at Eldora ski resort. 9 am and the Sundance beginner area was shut down for lack of snow. Oh crap, now what? We were told you have to purchase a ticket for 4 year old because the kids learning hills were closed. We paid $20 dollars for the pass but they would not let my wife ride the lift without ski's (remember we are teaching a 4 year old) she only brought her ikon pass and ski clothes. No equipment because the mindset was teaching and not her skiing. We then went back to lift ticket area to get a refund for kids lift ticket explaining the situation accompanied by 1 of their lift operators explaining we took zero runs down the mountain. The arrogant manager Brandon refused a refund stating we don't give refunds. I asked if you over charged someone would you give a refund? Manager Brandon "yes". I then asked if he sold a lift ticket to someone and 30 seconds later a family member said "we have an emergency we need to go"! The new ticker holder then asks Brandon if he could get a refund because there is an emergency and can't stay what would his answer be and Brandon stated "I would refuse to give a refund"! Really Brandon? Really? WTF? Horrible customers service, I asked for his direct managers contact information and he refused to give out information and was quick to point out a generic Eldora website email to handle complaints. He arrogantly offered to sell us a $100 dollar season pass for a 4 year old and would deduct the $20 off of season pass. Really Brandon? I explained they have a small kids learning area is free but he probably already knew that. ‍ But I asked Brandon Why would I buy a season pass? Also Brandon, why in the F would I spend another dollar in their establishment when they have zero common sense and atrocious customer service? They even proudly display "All sales are final" at each line. They hide behind lame policy and zero common sense, bad attitudes. I suggest you go to a real area like Copper or Keystone where they seem to care about embracing a new generation of future snowboarders. First and last time I will ever go to Eldora, there are a lot of resorts to choose from and will treat you with dignity and respect, go there instead! What a warm friendly place to visit. As soon as we parked our car we looked lost and one of the staff came to us and asked how he can help. Renting is pricey if you need your gear and if you want lessons it is high priced as well. But I'll tell you well worth it. Heck you are in Colorado. The view itself going up to Eldora is absolutely worth every penny. The Bar in the main lounge, the staff is supper friendly and Stephanie has taken great care of us the entire time there. The chilly is pretty good very tasty. The Bathroom was very clean in the main lodge. They also have a cute shopping store with all kinds of ski gear. I really wanted to like Eldora Ski but our experience was poor. I rarely write long reviews, but I want to be specific with my feedback this time in the hopes that they improve. Here are the reasons why I do not recommend Eldora at this time: 1. Value for the money: Perhaps Eldora is a little less than other resorts, perhaps, but it is still expensive, as it is to be expected of a ski resort. Only the CROSS COUNTRY tickets are $25. 2. Slopes are not particularly friendly for beginner skiers or people who do leisurely, easy skiing. My daughter and I are green slopes skiers and that is how we like it. Eldora slopes are very steep and do not allow for a joy ride for us rookie skiers who just go once or twice each year for some fun. What resort is better? Winter Park and by far. 3. Most of the employees did not know which lifts were open/closed. If you have skied, you know that walking on those boots is a pain and trying to go up the slightest slope to get to a lift is very difficult. You want to get to your lift and quickly. Well, the person who sold me tickets did not know that the best lift that she recommended was close, and so were a couple more. I learned later that the resort does not open some lifts during weekdays (Thursday). I would have appreciated the information when I called a day ahead and when I bought my tickets. 4. Many employees where genuinely bothered to offer assistance. I asked a female employed for the general direction of a particular lift: 1) She did not know the name of the lift. 2) She did not want to help. 5. Employees got angry if one struggled using the conveyer for the first time. My child and I are used to the regular lift and were unfamiliar with the conveyer. We both struggled getting on. On my 4th time around I noticed that there was a sign indicating that one had to ask for help ahead of time if unfamiliar with the system. Said sign is behind the system that scans the pass, therefore covered. Ultimately, decent customer service calls for helping people on to the thing, something that was lacking until enough people fell, including 2 gentlemen without one of their limbs, then I noticed the employees helping everyone. 6. Do not expect any help if you fall from the lift. The employee stayed inside the control room and did not help my 11 year old who fell, as it can happen to anyone. Instead, after a while, he got out and outright yelled at her as she was struggling to get up. She was to the side and people were still able to get off the lift. Do yourself a favor and drive an additional hour to Winter Park. The green slopes are so much fun and the employees are lovely. The customer service is excellent and the lift attendants help you when you fall and are kind and compassionate. It is a if they actually like their job. To me, less than stellar customer service at ski resorts is unacceptable for a sport that is expensive by nature. Additionally, this is Colorado and each employee should represent and uplift the face of skiing in a state with world class skiing facilities. People come from all over the country and the world to enjoy the slopes here, so ELDORA, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. I see that the complaints about your customer service are conspicuous. Do something. It is a shame that such an accesible resort treats customer as unimportant and disposable. Not going back unless you make the news and several people attest to an improvement on Yelp and other platforms. read more

Alright i did pay 130$ for my ticket which is some bull-ish but at least i got to slide on the snow here, not bad for 35 inches of sauce I mean damn its so groovy out here! The coffee is really hot which is a big turn on in my eyes. My big toe on my left foot was completely numb before i did a single run so i went into the sexy lodge made out of wood and i bought some toe heat mechanism pouches and got my numb azz toe back to operating temp! What is even more frustrating is that single parties are also forced to park super far away from the mountain while the main lot is empty. This doesn't make any sense to me and actually increases carbon emissions due to having to run the electric shuttle all day and charge it off our electric grid. Grandpa Rick is an employee at Eldora. He destroyed the little happiness the mountain has to offer. While trying to hit the slopes I was met with a rude attitude and an inept persona. I left. I had the worst experience i've ever had on a mountain. read more

The staff here was ultra friendly and helpful. We visited the park at the end of February and parking was a breeze wide open. My main complaint is the level of difficulty of the slopes. I grew up skiing as a kid but only go every five years or so these days. The jump in difficulty between green and blue was huge! The blues were so steep and hard to maneuver and quickly accelerated at a high speed. I really wasn't prepared for it. I've done blues all day at other ski resorts, but I had trouble hanging here. Hurt my ego but I was happy to call it quits by 2pm and people watch with a beer! read more

My wife and I had a terrible experience in Eldora Ski Resort. Definitely not worth going to this resort. I should have read the reviews prior and gone to another resort. As a first timer this place is not welcoming. People from all over the world/state travel to experience Colorado. Firstly, the staff here especially the front desk and the other smaller booths seem uninterested in helping you out. I had spoken to the front desk when purchasing the tickets/lift this was our first time. There didn't seem a lot of beginner trails. Stinky/filthy bathrooms, over priced (more than a big city), ATM not working, lazy college students working the front desk that have no interest in customer satisfaction. Only for a lousy weekly check. My wife and I were very confused as to where to go. My wife and I wanted to go up the chair lift and were denied (we weren't comfortable going on the snow board or ski since everywhere we walked "no beginners". I had spoken to a would be manager. That I can wear my helmet and gear and we can just be in a loop in the chairlift as that wouldn't break the Colorado law. Big waste of money, look elsewhere. You've been warned! read more

My ski instructor friends and I were skiing when one of their employees proceeded to cut me and my friends off from behind and then got in our face and screamed at us that we need to say "skier left!" to everyone and then threatened to take our passes away. We exclaimed that we did, had lots of distance from anyone, and that he was CLEARLY in the wrong for cutting us off dangerously from behind on top of not paying attention or listening to us. My ski instructor friends agreed he was in the wrong as we all know the rules and he continued screaming irrationally. We then saw him acting the same volatile way towards many other groups of people throughout the day as those groups went ahead and complained about him. I will never buy an Eldora pass again as I do not want to support such unprofessional behavior nor want to risk my pass being taken away because some biggot won't admit he was in the wrong. read more

Eldora once had a fond place in my heart as the cheaper, smaller, and less developed ski resort (and a convenient 45-minute drive from Boulder), but no more. The resort owners got greedy and DOUBLED the price over the past few years. Now 4-packs are more expensive than much nicer and larger resorts such as Copper Mountain and Winter Park. Proximity to Boulder was awesome. Get there early (like 0830 or earlier) to snag the best parking on days with good snow or likely crowds. No frills mountain, easy rental process right outside the lifts, and variety of intermediate/advanced trails set this resort apart from others I've visited. read more
