We are visiting Winter Park Resort for a wedding! Room was nice! In the non-skiing season, there's lots of trails for biking and hiking. The $73 adventure park here at the resort was ok. Chair lift is $34 for scenic views on top of the mountain. Our room was adequate. No huge bells and whistles and a bit dated in the furniture, but the bed was comfortable and easy to get in and out of the free parking garage during this time of year.

I have been coming here for 4 years! It has been so fun! They have so many good tree trails, hard and easy slopes, and over all just a really good spot to ski! You just should not go on the weekend it gets really crowded! During the weekdays it is pretty and not too many people!

We love coming here with our family for skiing. Everyone is so friendly great service especially the rental department. They are amazing. Very helpful people. Everyone on the slopes was also very helpful and friendly. One of the best resorts in the midWest top-notch and we will continue to visit every year. Definitely five stars.

Ski instructor that hit me with her poles multiple times

Abusive children's ski instructor. I was sitting down strapping into my board, I proceeded to get up to ride down but as soon as I got up this ski instructor skied from behind me and cut right in front of me then got mad that "I got in her way." Skier / boarder uphill is the one who has to watch out for those downhill so I was not at fault. The whole slope was open and there was no need for her to be anywhere near me. Nevertheless she began to curse me out in front of a little girl she was teaching and started hitting me in the chest and head with her ski poles. Even after I told her to stop hitting me she would just hit me again and then mock me. I will be calling customer service to report her. This is completely unacceptable, especially infront of a young impressionable kid you're teaching. For real, do you want to get physically assaulted by the staff at a ski resort? Do you want your kid learning from a physically abusive ski instructor?

Besides the Folks ( you know the Darwin Award recipients) that decide to go out of bounds on skis and skimobiles and inevitably run in Avalanches Winter Park Resort is a hoot. Great powder easy to get to from Denver. Fantastic array of slopes for any skill level. This time we snowshoed on the Jim Creek Trail which is a great 5 mile in and out trek. It is gorgeous and if you like snowshoeing this one is fun. Yeah it aint a killer like Butler Gulch but very pleasant. Parking lots are good.

    The smile says it all!

Winter Park is Amazing for Novice Skiers We are a family of very casual skiers - Our kids have gone several times, I myself hadn't been on skies for three decades. We came to visit family in Colorado and ended up skiing on Friday, Jan 3rd at Winter Park. The weather was spectacular and we had an absolute blast. The lift staff were super helpful and friendly, especially on Galloping Goose. Our first-time skier would often fall getting off at the top, and the staff would happily help her back up each time. Several of our family members stuck to Shoe Fly and Tie Siding, which are a special gift to beginner skiers (and snowboarders!!). Over the course of the day the rest of us explored other parts of the mountain, but we were only able to cover a small portion even of the green trails. We are dreaming of coming back as soon as we can!

After almost 20 years of going to the Epic Pass mountains we made the switch to Ikon this season and are so glad we did because we get to ski at Winter Park. It's crazy to me that we haven't been here more, and getting the chance to explore the mountain we have found some amazing terrain and have overall really enjoyed our experience at the ski area. Yes, the lift lines are long on weekends, yes, the parking situation is a little rough, but it's a ski area in Colorado so it's to be expected. You definitely have to get here early to get free parking but the shuttle situation is decent (not great, if you miss the shuttle it's a LONG wait for the next one) or you can pay up to $50 to park in a closer paid lot if you choose to. The skiing itself is great, the terrain is varied especially if you include Mary Jane in your day and presents something for everyone. The food options are limited but the food at the base itself is actually really good and reasonably, by ski area standards, priced. We will definitely be back a lot as I have found a new appreciation for the City of Denver-owned staple of Colorado skiing!

A great fun ski resort with very friendly staffs and mostly nice people. We had a great time on the mountain for the last few days. This is my first year switching from Epic pass to Ikon and the lodges and staffs are better. Even the meals seem to be better value. The only reason I took away a star is that there are many chairs that have not opened yet. We are only able to ski the right side or Mary Jane. I guess that also means that we have a reason to come back in the future?

We didn't stay at the resort so I can't speak to that part. Only the skiing, transportation, and the Village. I haven't skied here in a long time. Came for Spring Break with the family.I had an opportunity to ski alone while my wife and son were taking a lesson. I almost forgot how fun it is. The runs were well maintained and the staff at the ski lifts were nice. The view was incredible. It snowed a lot on our second day so we got some fresh powder. Very nice. Unfortunately, it also got colder and our son didn't like it. It was his first time in the snow so he wasn't used to it. Naturally that cut our ski time but it was fun while it lasted. Next time he'll enjoy it more. But it wasn't all bad. The Village is a fun place to hang out with all the stores and food and drink options around. I also liked the efficiency of the shuttle system that took us to and from the parking lot. And since Winter Park is the main attraction in the area all or most bus lines lead to the resort. The Coca Cola Tubing is also located here.

My FAVORITE ski resort. Long runs and a good variety of them too!! Great ski school and plenty of greens for newbie skiers to enjoy as well as ADA certified program. Close to Denver metro and unpretentious!! If you complain about poor shopping and lack of restaurants, then you're not a serious skier. Shopping and terrific restaurants can be found in town down the road but not at the base. AND THATS OKAY!! MaryJane is the bomb for great skiing and fun! I come every year!!

Beautiful place, pricey but expect for a ski resort. The girl at the ticket counter for the activities didn't seem to want to be there but it was at the end of their day and about to close. We just got there and had a few questions and she seemed bothered but other than lots of cute shops and restaurants if you didn't want to leave the area and drive into town.

The whole point in winter park is to get to the slopes and play! Beautiful, clean and family friendly!

The first time I was here was five years ago. I wasn't able to ski because I was pregnant. This time I was able to ski. It was lots of fun. I took a lesson to refresh my memory because it had been several years since I last skied. I basically had a private lesson because the other person taking the class with me had to leave early. Overall, I liked my instructor. I think he did a good job. He took me to Discovery Park. It is a great spot for beginners. After that I was good to go. The Village is also lots of fun. There are several shops and restaurant. There is even a nice playground for the kids.

Desperately needing to get away with my husband on a ski-cation to our favorite ski area, we looked into booking a room close to the slopes and found this place to be reasonable for a ski-in/ski-out and a sport studio through Orbitz. We read about the place needing updating, but we decided to give it a try anyway. Thursday afternoon arrival and we were allowed to check in early and found out there was covered garage parking! Nice. The whole place is keyless utilizing coded entryways and we were pleasantly surprised to find a clean and cozy room with a terrific kitchenette complete with granite counters and stocked with dishes & cookware. We had unit 1033 and the Murphy bed was amazingly comfortable for two tall people and the sofa had a pull-out sleeper too. The decorations were nice and very homey with an overall skiing/sledding theme. We liked it. The entire resort's workout area was neat and clean as were their showers/saunas. The pool area has a half in/half out heated swimming pool and two large hot tubs. Very nice area, especially after our day of skiing and wanting a hot tub to relax our muscles. Here's the not so stellar items; our bathroom sink did not drain well, the light over the Murphy bed was out and the windows don't open. But nothing horrible. Last but not least is the convenience of an on-site restaurant, La Collina. Over-priced & overcooked and not very good food from a small, limited menu is what we got. Ugh. Underwhelming. Next time we're going into town for much better selections. Overall, we'd like to return during ski season and maybe even summertime, but do NOT eat at the restaurant.

Rooms were clean and well maintained, and had all of the basics you would need. Everything related to a ski day was nice here - had storage for skis and boots so that you didn't have to bring them to your room. In the morning they have a nice spread for breakfast including fruit and cereal, and also have some hot items including eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon. Definitely enough to get you fueled and ready for the day. Then there is a van they run that takes you right to the gondola leaving at 8:30, 9, 9:30. Taking the first van gets you there right for the start of day. And you don't have to worry about parking, walking, and paying at the resort. Rides back were at 3:15 and 4:15 which gave plenty of time at the mountain. I didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but it looked nice. There were some cozy spots in the lounge with fireplaces to sit and relax. And a ping pong table that a few kids were using to stay entertained. Parking here was convenient, and the location is good; very close to everything in Winter Park. Overall I was very impressed with this stay. I will definitely look here first when looking for a place to stay in Winter Park moving forward. I thought it was a fair value, and the amenities made for easy ski days where all I had to do was get dressed and show up to the van on time, and not worry about anything else.

There were 3 people working the trip, a driver and 2 guides. They had all of our avalanche gear ready to go in backpacks, lunch was on the snowcat waiting for us and they gave a nice complimentary water bottle. They gave us avalanche beacons and a showed us how to use them, tested them to make sure they worked, and gave us a safety briefing along with an explanation of how the 2 guides work together to make things as safe as possible - I definitely felt super safe in the hands of the guides, it was clear that they knew what they were doing. The snowcat was very comfortable and they are very focused on customer service at all times. Now, to the skiing...... Great guides. We were skiing on a day that had interesting conditions. Being a "ridge rat" at Loveland I was well aware of a storm that came in a few days earlier and blew most of the snow off the high mountains leaving not much but wind blown snow. That was certainly the conditions we were seeing everywhere, but the guides had ideas and they were really good ones. They knew their terrain very well and found us some powder that ranged from decent to awesome - mostly awesome. We did have to do some hiking off of the cat to get to the stashes, but it was well worth it and not a big deal. Being a "bit older" I took the hikes kind of slowly, but never felt pressured, and was always reassured that it was no big thing by the guides. We took 8 or 9 runs. Here is the fun part - we never took the same run twice - even though there were some I really wouldn't have minded to ski again, the guides stepped it up with every run. Not only was each run different, but we were the only people who had skied on any of them - first tracks all day long. The runs were super fun - a mix of wide open and somewhat tight. My nephew who skied with us and loves the trees was in heaven. I like more wide open areas and i was in heaven too. Again, the guides were great - one would ski down the run first to do a safety check and/or set a left or right hand line. The second guide stayed with the group and they communicated via radio where the safe lines were and we skied down one at a time. Once the group had all skied down the second guide would clear the hill and we were back on the cat. Very little time was wasted but the guides were keenly aware of conditions and potential hazards and safety was clearly job #1. Finding Powder was job #2 with a bullet and these guys did a great job of finding great snow on a day that I was concerned was going to be very difficult. Super cold beer at the end of the day was very welcome. :-) I have to say that I was really impressed with the entire experience. Great people, great terrain, great snow, great time. Highly recommended.
