There were 3 people working the trip, a driver and 2 guides. They had all of our avalanche gear ready to go in backpacks, lunch was on the snowcat waiting for us and they gave a nice complimentary water bottle. They gave us avalanche beacons and a showed us how to use them, tested them to make sure they worked, and gave us a safety briefing along with an explanation of how the 2 guides work together to make things as safe as possible - I definitely felt super safe in the hands of the guides, it was clear that they knew what they were doing. The snowcat was very comfortable and they are very focused on customer service at all times. Now, to the skiing...... Great guides. We were skiing on a day that had interesting conditions. Being a "ridge rat" at Loveland I was well aware of a storm that came in a few days earlier and blew most of the snow off the high mountains leaving not much but wind blown snow. That was certainly the conditions we were seeing everywhere, but the guides had ideas and they were really good ones. They knew their terrain very well and found us some powder that ranged from decent to awesome - mostly awesome. We did have to do some hiking off of the cat to get to the stashes, but it was well worth it and not a big deal. Being a "bit older" I took the hikes kind of slowly, but never felt pressured, and was always reassured that it was no big thing by the guides. We took 8 or 9 runs. Here is the fun part - we never took the same run twice - even though there were some I really wouldn't have minded to ski again, the guides stepped it up with every run. Not only was each run different, but we were the only people who had skied on any of them - first tracks all day long. The runs were super fun - a mix of wide open and somewhat tight. My nephew who skied with us and loves the trees was in heaven. I like more wide open areas and i was in heaven too. Again, the guides were great - one would ski down the run first to do a safety check and/or set a left or right hand line. The second guide stayed with the group and they communicated via radio where the safe lines were and we skied down one at a time. Once the group had all skied down the second guide would clear the hill and we were back on the cat. Very little time was wasted but the guides were keenly aware of conditions and potential hazards and safety was clearly job #1. Finding Powder was job #2 with a bullet and these guys did a great job of finding great snow on a day that I was concerned was going to be very difficult. Super cold beer at the end of the day was very welcome. :-) I have to say that I was really impressed with the entire experience. Great people, great terrain, great snow, great time. Highly recommended.

The snow here is usually some of the best in the state, but Winter Park gets less publicity than some of the other resorts. The vacation properties range from 4 person occupancy to 16 person, so it is a great place to pair up with some friends and save money on a ski vacation. Lexi and Dana are very knowledgeable about the Winter Park area and got us some great deals on ski tickets as well as the lodging. Can't wait for our weekends in the Lakota lodges!

They have an outdoor storage area where you can keep your skis/snowboards overnight and it's safe. In the back they have some lockers and restrooms. The return process was very simple. No need to sign anything or have the equipment checked. Just drop everything off in its designated place and walk away.

They said it was pretty good for a couch bed. The pool area is really really nice. They have a men's and women's locker room, an indoor pool with two hot tubs, and an outdoor hot tub. The bus to winter park ski resort picks up here every 30 minutes, or it is a short drive to the ski area. We would definitely stay here again for a ski weekend.

In Sept. 2026, we arrived at Holiday Inn in Fraser Co. at approximately 3:15pm. There were only 3…read morecars parked in the one parking lot. We walked into the lobby, nobody was there. We also noticed there were several cameras in the lobby area. We waited for approximately 15 minutes, and no one showed up at the front desk. I walked to the office rear door and knocked several times with no response. I then opened the door and yelled: "Hello" several times with no response. A few minutes later a person emerged from another internal office. The person looked as if they had just woken up from a nap. I told the clerk (Victor) we were here to check in. He stated no rooms are available until after 4:30 on this date. I asked him if any room was clean/ready in the building. He stated: "No." I said, "There's not even 1 room ready in this whole building?" He replied: "No, not till 4:30 pm, we're short staffed." Victor said: "I can cancel your reservation." I told him no, that's my discretion not his. He repeated himself several times to cancel the reservation. I went out to our car and read the contract with Holiday Inn. The contract stated check-in time is 3:00 pm. I went back into the lobby, now there were a few other people in line. The other people were being checked into their rooms without any problems. I told Victor the contract states check-in time is 3:00 pm. He again said, "No rooms are available until after 4:30 pm, we have the discretion of when to allow people in." Again, we left and contacted Super.com, with whom the reservation was made through. I texted with an agent from Super.com and told him about the problems we were having with Victor, and the Holiday Inn. A short time later the agent came back in the text chat and said he called the hotel and our room was now ready. We went back again to the hotel and again there were several people in the lobby waiting to check in. I stood in line waiting my turn. All the people in front and behind me were being checked in without any problems. Nothing being stated about rooms not ready. I got to Victor and told him I spoke to Super.com, and they stated they had called the hotel and were told the room was ready. Victor said, "No one has called me. The room is not ready." Again, several times He said, "I'll cancel your reservation." I said, "I want a full refund and in writing with an invoice showing the full refund." Victor began the refund process without confirming with me a full refund and invoice. He was speaking with a co-worker out loud over the process of cancelling my reservation. Finished he said, "There it's done, your reservation is cancelled." I asked for a written invoice and was not provided with one. I also asked to speak with the building General Manager, and Victor said he was the manager. With Victor's rude, negative, hostile, very unprofessional manner I highly doubt he would represent the hospitality industry of Holiday Inn (IHG). This was the worst treatment my wife and I have ever witnessed in over 45 years of traveling. Due to this rude, hostile interaction and lack of respect we will not be using IHG properties in the future.
