When there was a no show, they came to us and asked if we would want to move to a better spot. This place is hardly a dump like the one review states. This is a new place and still shaping up the place to make it an awesome place. The rv sites are super nice and level. There is no shade trees in the rv area. There is an access road by the facility but not too busy. They are right across the street from a river rafting company and a zip line spot and a running river. It is not a dangerous campground like the negative reviewer states. Showers are clean and really nice. Clean restrooms and the store area is shaping up nicely. This place will be so cool once done. You do get interstate noise but nothing terrible, but expected as you are close to the interstate. The photo is of our tent spot #6. We will be back.

The owner graciously volunteered to pull our trailer over to the RV park and said we could stay as long as necessary while our truck was at the repair shop. Fortunately, our truck was repaired (replace starter) later that evening but it was a blessing to stay in our trailer after a long day. The owner was really helpful in accommodating our situation and we really appreciated his help. We would definitely stay the Red Mountain RV Park again.

I never received a confirmation so I had to look for another place to spend the night. The next day at 2pm I received a confirmation but the reservation was for the night before. I ended up never making it there. I was charged for the night I've trying multiple times to contact the place with no luck. So I'll be disputing the charge with my bank. Never had an issue like this before with an rv place stay away and save yourself a headache.

9/10/2018 The worst RV park I've ever stayed at!!…read more Spent a month here due to a lack of park availability in the Denver area. $900/mo. and limited to one month in a calendar year, thank goodness... Leaky frost free hydrant(duct taped to slow the leaks) water source was so powerful that they blew out my Class C motor-homes water line causing a flood and a $250 electrical short to my Converter which killed my AC unit and Sound system, even though I installed a pressure reducer. I asked the manager about the water pressure issue and she said, she know nothing about RVs and she just collected the rent for the spaces.. Someone else owns the park. The ground was so lumpy in the sites that it took an hour to even get close to level. Never got completely level the whole stay. 50 AMP only, had to buy a 30-50 AMP adapter $20 in Boulder , 30 minutes west before I could get power, so...one day with out sewer or electric. Basically I dry camped for one night and was charged $30!! In addition the sewer line was buried under rocks so I had no idea where to drop my sewer line. The maintenance man Matt came over and helped, the only real help I got. The manager which was only avail by phone, and once in the local, liquor store. There is no dumpster for trash..... and my voice mail questions to the manager regarding trash went unanswered even after the ridiculous price I paid. I noticed that a tenant that vacated just left his bags of trash at his site, after a few days the animals began ripping into it and it blew all around the area :( This place sucks...plain and simple!! Being gouged $900 for a 30 day limit for a lumpy piece of ground is a rip off!! The shops were all very similar and touristy. The selection of restaurants wasn't too exciting either. Parking was challenging in the area. There was some free parking and some paid lots, but all options were full. I stopped by the Visitor's Center as well. Half the lot was reserved so parking here was a challenge also. They could use some *something* to make it more of an experience and a welcome to the town. Everyone was nice, but it felt empty and the amount of fliers for things felt too sell-y. I wanted to enjoy Golden so much, but it really felt like a tourist trap to me.

I had to take the initiative and just drive here just to make sure that it was open and what we were able to do. I was delighted to find such a beautiful park right along the river bank. Have the ability to tube and have the little ones play. Children can play, and there is also a kid pool (a definite bonus). I was afraid that it would get packed and we end up not being able to stay. So I was left behind, and my husband went back to get the rest of the family. Since it is Monday, I figure it is not going to get too busy. But, I am not going to take a chance. This spot should be on the list of visiting places. Especially right now that Boulder creek is closed and many other outdoor activities.

Winter, spring, summer, fall, Golden Gate has it all. +Winter you gaze over frozen lakes and ponds, while still being able to hike some of the trails. +Spring the flowers bloom and the aspens begin to turn. +Summer you can mountain bike and blaze all corners of the park. I've never camped here before and would be interested in doing so someday. +Fall is one of the more sought after destinations for leaf peeping and fall foliage due to its close proximity to Denver. Talk about an ideal location for a Christmas card! From old desolate cabins to rushing streams to jagged peaks to countless activities, Golden Gate Canyon is a reliable option when you need to get out of dodge.
