We joined the list for prospective residents at The Glen at Heather Farms a couple of years ago…read more Since that time I've called their office on a few occasions and have always received prompt, courteous and straightforward answers to my questions. I attended a tour of the Pleasanton facility and besides being impressed with the facility itself, the presentation was excellent. My husband and I attended our "informational brunch" in November and again had a very positive experience. Lots of information, presented concisely and any and all questions were answered in a straightforward manner. There's nothing hard sell/ pushy about these presentations. Following that brunch we met with our residency counselor to figure out what next steps would best suit our situation. She has been excellent! Very patient in answering our questions, showing us the various unit floor plans and discussing our options. She's very knowledgeable about the entire process, of course, but she also understands that making the decision to move into this type of residence represents a significant change for most people and is both empathetic and encouraging. To summarize, our experience to date with The Glen at Heather Farms has been very positive.

As time moved forward I became concerned about how this community was being advertised to the public, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The concept is wonderful, but at one of the very large meetings a few years back, while people were asking about when they could pick out there houses etc., I was the only person who asked when the Wellness Center was going to be built which would included Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The answer I received was disappointing. Not until after residents moved into the community would the Wellness Center be built. My next question was to ask what would then happen if my spouse or myself needed the extra care a Continuing Care Retirement Community is suppose to provide for us, but is not available? Would one of us then have to find a place for that care outside of Glen at Heather Farms? And if so, how is Glen at Heather Farms a continuing care community if the Wellness Center is not on site yet? I had read that the Center would not be built until about 2 years after residents had moved into the community. Also, if as a couple one of you is in good health, while the other may have health issues, you will not be able to become a resident of Glen at Heather Farms as a couple. You must have a clean bill of health from your doctor. I know of one person who was interested in moving to Glen at Heather Farms with friends. Because that person had some health issues, he had to look elsewhere. Fortunately, he found another CCRC community in Walnut Creek close by and is thrilled being there. I also checked out this other community a number of years ago and they had no problem with residents with health issues moving in. Please have other options available to you, When your time comes to move you won't be disappointed if your health issues are a "no go" to becoming a resident at Glen at Heather Farms. I chose Rossmoor Post Acute after visiting and comparing it with another post-acute facility in…read moreWalnut Creek. The deciding factor was simple but important: Rossmoor felt like a true medical care facility, while the other location felt more like a modern senior or retirement center. Given my father's condition, he needed real medical care--not just a nice environment--and Rossmoor clearly fit that need. From the very beginning, the level of service exceeded my expectations. Steve Stock, the General Manager, was outstanding. He gave me his mobile number and told me to text him anytime if something came up. That alone speaks volumes. I did my best not to reach out unless it was truly necessary, but whenever I did, he addressed every issue promptly and thoroughly. Not a single request was missed. I honestly don't know how he stays so organized, but he does--and it shows. One thing that really mattered to us was consistency with medications, and Rossmoor delivered. All medications were always administered correctly and on time, without exception. That level of reliability brought a lot of peace of mind. The food was also decent--better than expected for a medical facility--and whenever there was an opportunity to make things a little better or more comfortable, the staff consistently went the extra mile. The staff across the board were excellent. Every single person we interacted with was professional, kind, and clearly well trained. Special thanks to nurses Nadia, Carly, Roxanne, Marielle, and Gia--each one was outstanding and made a difficult time much easier for our family. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic--thank you Erica for your patience and care. Thanks to the laundry staff and the front desk team as well; their work doesn't go unnoticed. Bottom line: I highly recommend Rossmoor Post Acute to anyone who needs true post-acute medical care. Our experience there gave us peace of mind during a very stressful time, and for that I'm extremely grateful.

It feels like we are being ignored when all we want is basic information and transparency. On top of that, it's unclear why my dad continues to be kept here. We have not been given clear explanations or timelines, which only adds to the stress and confusion. Families deserve to be part of the conversation, not left in the dark. Overall, this situation has caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety. I strongly urge the facility to improve communication, responsiveness, and clarity around patient care decisions.

The entire staff made a difficult time so much easier for our family. Everyone--from the front desk to the nursing team--was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. The therapists were outstanding and played such a huge role in my mom's recovery, always encouraging and tailoring her care to her needs. The nurses and CNAs went above and beyond every single day, treating her with dignity, patience, and warmth. It's clear that the team here truly cares about their patients, not just medically but emotionally as well. I'm so grateful for the support and dedication they showed my mom. I highly recommend Walnut Creek Rehabilitation Center to anyone looking for top-quality care and a truly compassionate staff.

Plenty of activities, a kitchen open to special requests and with a menu that rivals many regular restaurants in the area, walking paths around the building, and a location within an easy walk to a shopping center (esp good for outings). Highly recommend!

The bad: the policies and practices here are awful. I made meal requests to multiple people about my dietary concerns, and got absolutely no response from management. Nobody informed me about the program to made me healthy again. I was kept in the dark, and found out they planned to keep me for a month, even though the only reason I was there was to improve my legs. I've had no attention I got antibiotics for my kidney infection so I'll take the antibiotics on the prescription with me home. I have no products to take care of myself and no clean clothes. This place is a monster prison. There been three people that even talk kindly to me. The staff has been abusive verbally and emotionally I believe they are delighted to be evil and cause people pain. I need to accept that people work with the elderly to dump their anger. So tired of this place.
