It's a nice little bar with decent bar food and ambiance. I don't really like most bars because I don't know. This one's pleasant.

I love this cozy place. The food is delicious! the Brussel sprouts and buffalo cauliflower apps are amazing! Warm and inviting pub atmosphere. Came here for brunch with my wife. Its a beautiful establishment and a welcome addition for just its decor. We ordered the brunch burger and avocado toast. For the price point, I expected a burger not a slider burger. The fries it came with were nothing special. The avocado toast looked simple and something the waitress made. We also had drinks a blood mary thats was also abysmal for the price. I hate to be negative but i hope ownership and management step up their game. Regardless of decor, I've seen businesses come and go and they wont last long with the current quality of food. read more

The wife and I rolled up on the spot on a Sunday to do mad 2019 goal planning (forgive the diction, I'm a new dad). Anywho, I have to say it was intimate, good atmosphere, and Bryan (or maybe with an "i") and staff had exceptional service. It was our first time there and they made us feel like regulars. This has become our new go-to spot. Great bar-type food, especially the chicken sandwiches (both!) Their cocktails are always spot on and never vary in taste like in some other bars when it's a different server or bartender for the night. I usually opt for their old fashioned and am never disappointed. Good for smaller groups. They have some decent sized booths for larger groups, but the place can get pretty crowded quick. Outdoor seating in the summer has been a major plus, especially if you pick the chair facing towards the waterfront around sunset time. Our pup is a fan, too. Decent selection of beers. Tbh I've tried all their salads but wasn't a fan. Maybe that was just me, but their other vegan options are enjoyable. The "Impossible Burger" on the menu now is a Beyond burger, I think. I'd advise asking the server. Speaking on servers, they've been great to us. Yes, the place can get busy and one lone server would not be able to keep up, which is sometimes the case. However, they've accommodated us anytime there's been a slip up or ridiculous wait (which has only been one or two times.) We love going to Elder and recommend you give it a shot too. read more

Ordered takeout with friends and got the wagyu burgers, all medium. Everything came out well done and chewy and the fries were extremely salty! We also ordered a second order of calamari and they missed it. Thinking that the server who brought the take out to us was still carrying the extra bag of calamari and must've given it to someone else on accident. Negroni is one of the easiest drinks to make, either they didn't do the right measures of the three different alcoholic parts or they have very cheap liquor. I ordered a wedge "salad" and they brought me half a lettuce (literally the whole thing without cutting it or anything) with blue cheese dressing on top of it. They call that a salad! Ate there on a Sunday during brunch time. Didn't realize I was only able to order of the brunch menu. That was a bit disappointing as what I really wanted was in regular menu. Got eggs and hash browns. They were good but going to a diner would have been equally good and cheaper. Friend got a sandwich and a cocktail and he thoroughly enjoyed them both. Said they were very delicious Service was fast and friendly. Everything was clean and the outdoor dining area was actually open air, not a plastic shed, which made eating feel safer. Cozy neighborhood spot to have a good catch-up with friends without feeling rushed or drowned out by noise. Had brunch here yesterday. It quickly filled up over the course of the two hours we were there. I had the soft scrambled eggs and sausage sandwich and hash browns. The eggs were perfectly cooked and delicious. I didn't care for the brioche bun (too big and fluffy) but the insides were great. Enjoyed the side salad and the hash browns were just as I remembered as a kid. I'd definitely go again. Hands down my favorite bar in Greenpoint. I work down the street which makes it super convenient for lunch and happy hour. The food is excellent (fried chicken sandwich, grain bowl and popcorn chicken to name a few) and drinks are superb. The management is top notch and the bartenders/servers are always incredibly attentive and friendly. The daily rotation of fresh flowers make it obvious that the management cares about the space, its staff and most importantly their costumers. read more

This place is really cute, well decorated and lit, has plenty of seating, and has vegan options. The bartenders and waiters are very friendly and hardworking. Unfortunately, the servers were extremely busy and forgot items we had ordered twice (a drink and a side). They were also out of the Impossible burger, so I ordered their other vegan item which was the bowl with chickpeas and quinoa. Man! There was no sauce, seasoning, or flavoring to be found. I ordered hummus to put on top to give it some flavor but it was equally as flavorless. I finally asked for salt and pepper which ended up helping out. Please season your food! Sadly the food for the price was not up to par with other restaurants in the neighborhood. The burger for $16 was one of the smallest , underwhelming burgers we ever have . How can you charge that much for a tiny piece of meat? The avocado toast was super simple and nothing special , again more then other avocado toast in the neighborhood which are way better. The grain bowl again was super simple and in no way should be $15 for some cooked unseasoned quinoa and some pickled onions. Sadly we will not rerun for the food The service was nice. The burger was small and the fries were undercooked, tasted slightly like freezer burned. The nacho toppings were very underwhelming. The salad was good but small. Great new bar! Thoughtfully and tastefully designed, it feels like it has been in the neighborhood for years. Simon (owner) is really friendly and clearly very passionate about the business that he has built. At the time of writing, the bar was newly opened so the kitchen is available yet, but if the same attention to detail is applied to that then it will be fantastic. Disappointing burger . We were walking by and looked at the menu. I was in the mood for a burger so we decided to have dinner here. We started with the pickle chips which were really good so that's gets a star. We both ordered the burger with fries and a couple of beers. (They were out of a few on the menu) when we our burgers arrived we were both quiet disappointed as looking at the price $14; I expected a restaurant style burger. The patty was no bigger then then a McDonald's cheeseburger patty, and honestly didn't taste much different. To think they would charge an extra $5 for a second patty to make that a nearly $20 burger is a complete rip off in my opinion. Severe mark up on food cost. I've had $14 burgers in other places around Greenpoint and never felt as disappointed as this (except for the burnt one at another place) I haven't had a chance to try the other menu items but I think I'll stick to the Brew Inn for burgers. read more
