Toppings for the fajitas

Awesome service nice and friendly STAFF EVERYTHING came out HOT and FRESH sides could've been more of quantity being it's to serve two but otherwise I'm a very SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Come here almost every week. The workers are amazing and the food is even better. Would definitely recommend the Quesadilla Suprema and/or the Tacos. And you have to finish the meal off with the Fried Ice Cream

I believe this restaurant gets more of a 3.5. Its hard writing reviews when taking into consideration COVID precautions. We got our menus and they were wet. I assumed it was sanitizer but our server was not able to confirm. They had taken some tables out to make sure they were in line with reduced capacity so kudos to that. I ordered the queso fundido. The best part about this appetizer was that there was so much chorizo in the queso and the chorizo had a lot of flavor. Definitely one of the better queso fundidos I have had. I ordered the fajitas tropical as my main dish. The fajitas included pineapples and the dish came out in a hollowed out pineapple instead of the usual sizzling skillet. Definite bonus points for that. The downside is that they put so much pineapple in it it drowned out all other flavors. I found myself picking out pineapple just to taste the meat. The side dish had a table spoon of rice and a table spoon of beans. Smaller portion of rice and beans than I am used to. There were highs and lows of El Toro but I wold eat there again for a quick lunch as the service was very fast.

I'm from Arizona and while I know that MN isn't really the place to expect great Mexican food, I keep trying. I will say that of the places I've tried so far, this is one of the better ones, although I wouldn't call it good. We were greeted and seated very promptly. The initial waiter didn't really speak English so the drink order was a tad confusing but that's no problem. I took it as a good sign. I ordered a Chile relleno and a bean and cheese burrito. I judge Mexican food establishments on their retried beans and tortillas. The relleno was just ok. It was a real chile and not canned but there was some sort of cheese sauce inside that absolutely does not belong. The waiter asked if I would like red sauce on my burrito and I said yes. Much to my disappointment it was tomato based. I've never encountered a tomato based red sauce ever. It was like spaghetti sauce. I expected enchilada sauce which is usually what is put on an enchilada style burrito. The beans were bland, no flavor. They didn't taste canned though so that's a good thing. The salsa was pretty good but the chips were bagged type. There was also a little bowl of something white served with the salsa. I assumed it was queso. It was actually some sort of sweet ranch type dressing. Weird. If you're from MN you will probably really like this place. If you're from somewhere where authentic, flavorful Mexican food is what you're used to, keep going.

It's not the first time my shrimp has been served to me raw. The steak has so much fat and gristle I had no choice but to return it. They really need to watch what they say in the kitchen cause most people like me, know how to speak and understand Spanish. I will never come back here again.

Very good queso!

Love the murals on the walls celebrating the Minnesotan culture and icons. The service is always great, and the servers always have a good menu recommendation if you're unsure what to get. The bar has delicious drinks and their Jamaica juice is so refreshing on a hot summer day. Happy hour is a nice discount on some favorite items. I will say anything with shredded chicken isn't my favorite (not enough seasoning on the chicken for my taste) but everything else we've tried is a hit! We always start off with the chips and salsa flight and add cheese sauce - it's NOT a queso, there's no peppers or spice. The creamy green sauce is our favorite salsa they make, it's delicious on everything. The torta is a great choice if you're unsure what to get, the pineapple bowl is awesome if you're trying to share with others. Tacos and burritos are always a hit - I love the crunch of the pork belly and the flavor of the al pastor, taco toppings are onion and cilantro unless you get the loaded taco with slaw. The burrito could probably feed two people with an appetizer. It's a little higher priced than your typical plate of tacos but the quality of the food is always top notch, the kitchen is open and clean, and I've never left hungry or without leftovers. I will note - if you're looking for "traditional" Mexican food this probably isn't the spot you're looking for. It's still delicious just slightly different than what you'd get at your typical taqueria.

They take your number so we left to a brewery down the street while we waited. The employee did get my number wrong and I had to go up to have them doule check it. But then we were seating in a really nice and spacious booth! This place has 2 for 1 drinks (certain ones)! We love that and my husband enjoyed the pacificos. I had a regular cactus marg, which was recommended by our server and amazing - very melony. For food, we started with the queso, which is wonderful. I can always give kutos to a restuarant that puts rotel in it, would definitely get again. I will say it's rather large - so definitely a shareable size. We also both got tacos, I got the fish and my husband the pastor. I loved my fish, it was large and the toppings were great. My husband said he wished it was Al Pastor and more shredded instead of cubed - but still good. Overall, we had a great first experience and our server provided us with wonderful service. She gave us advice on our meals and we had great conversation. This will be going into our regular staples!

I'm not quite sure what I was expecting but not something this stellar!…read more I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Taco, and it was a flavor bomb! The shrimp were very flavorful and the whole thing just came together nicely. Yum! Second was a kid's menu Quesadilla with ground beef which needed absolutely zero sauce because the meat was so well-seasoned. The tortilla was soft and nicely grilled. A definite winner. It came with beans and rice on the side, neither of which was special. The take on Street Corn was different, a soda cup of corn with the street toppings on top and layered in the middle. The sauce tasted like mayonnaise and I didn't care for it. It was like canned corn with some stuff on it, but one miss on an otherwise home run of a meal wasn't bad. The Queso Blanco was a perfect consistency and the chips were good if lacking salt. Note that the queso is about 1/4 cup, a small portion perfect for me. I tasted all three salsas and loved them, especially the salsa verde.

Came for the chicken and, while it tasted good, it didn't taste like anything different compared to other grilled chicken restaurants. It tasted as though the flavor/seasoning was only on the surface (skin) but not yet had time to penetrate the meat. Enjoyed sitting outside, dipping the chicken in the variety of salsas from the salsa bar! Very flavorful sauces! Next time I'm in the area, I'll come back and try the chicken again with some tacos.
