Excellent service -- greeted upon entry and our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. The food is incredible! Tacos are full with meat, not light in portions. The asada (steak) was excellent and juicy. The carnitas were tender. The lengua is well cooked and absolutely my favorite! The menudo was excellent-- the tripe practically melted in my mouth and had no gaminess! So we ordered 2 more! The caldo de res was good, the meat was tender and was tender to the bite. Corn, green beans, and zucchini were all drenched in the broth and were also amazing! The interior is warm and welcoming with colorful flags across the width of the dining room. I can recommend the queso but that's about it. I don't eat beef or pork, so it's possible those dishes are fine; I had the Huarache Tinga and the Tinga Taco but the chicken was very dry and not flavorful at all. I didn't care for either the red salsa (quite hot) or the green (watery). Wow! Where do I start? My wife ordered the Fajita Burrito and I ordered the Tinga Huaraches and quesadilla Carnitas, and for dessert, I ordered fried Ice Cream. I ordered this wonderfully authentic meal over the phone. The service was really quick. I reviewed the menu while I paying for my meal and I could not resist salsa and chip with a bowl of guacamole. The kitchen prepared the chip and also from scratch. I heard them preparing the fresh ingredients and wow! I loved it. Well, what can I say? I loved everything we ordered. Very friendly guy running the counter last night (7/13/18). I think he's the manager or owner. Pleasant to deal with. Food was reasonably priced...an al pastor taco was $2.50. A very large mug of horchata I believe was $2.00 or $2.50. The tacos included plenty of appropriate condiments. I'm not a fan of salsa verde, but the salsa roja had an appropriate balance of spice and vegetables. The meat was so-so. Tasted dry and lacked flavor, as if it had been off the spit for a long time. Amazing and authentic Mexican food! The homemade tortilla chips were warm right out of the fryer. I've never had such good chips, and the fresh guacamole was the best I've ever had. The prices aren't bad for all the food that you get. I didn't expect my quesadilla to be as big as it was. The entrees also included some salsa. The food was cooked quickly. We'll definitely be going back here to try some other dishes. Placed an order for pickup, & order was ready in 10 mins. The restaurant had a tiny parking lot, which isn't a big deal. It was very clean inside, & staff was friendly. I ordered fried chicken tacos for me and a chicken burrito for my boyfriend. The chicken was great, and overall the food was delicious. Btw, the burritos come with rice, beans, and cheese with your choice of meat and a side of chips - which is good to know because the menu didn't point this out. The red salsa isnt very spicy, and I preferred it over the green salsa (which was a bit spicier but not too much) - as im not a fan of spicy food - but both were good. The service was good but a little sketchy after paying and sitting down, my daughter asked if I had ordered something and I didn't remember. I went up to asked for a receipt incase i forgot something else. So I continue to search for good Mexican Restaurants, and today I found one with great food and salsa that has a great kick. This place is a bit out of the way but definitely worth trying out. Staff is very friendly, walked in and was greeted and asked if any questions about the menu. Ordered at the counter and then found a table. Food came out pretty quickly and was a good temperature. What we ordered: Huaraches Al Pastor (diced pork chop and chorizo) Mix of tacos (Al pastor and grilled beef) Burrito (they used a burger and chopped it up for my daughter since they don't do ground beef.) The Huaraches had great flavor. Not an entree I had previously had but the beans in the tortilla and the mix of toppings made a great combination. The green and red salsas were outstanding. Best Taco in Shakopee. I have eaten tacos all over Shakopee in my over 20 years of living here but this place is the best by far. If you want some good tacos then go here! I always get the tongue tacos as they are so tender and juicy. It is a must to get the onions and cilantro on them and then add the lime and green salsa to them to bump up the flavor. El Huarache Mexicano has some GREAT Mexican food. I often get this for delivery and they manage to do a great job with packaging. My only minor complaint is that you just get little cups of sauce with your chips rather than a chunky salsa, but the green sauce in particular is pretty darn tasty. With the word huarache in their name, you had better believe that their huaraches are the bees knees. It's like a (delicious) masa flatbread with meat, queso fresco, cilantro, and magic (plus their delicious green sauce and red sauce on the side). This is, by far, my favorite thing on the menu. I have gotten it with the al pastor lengua, grill beef, pork skin, and the tinga. The al pastor is the best, followed closely by the lengua. You get a pretty large huarache with a good amount of toppings. My partner also really likes their cochinita pibil. The meat is tender and the red sauce coating the meat is a little spicy and flavorful. I also love their guacamole. They add a little queso fresco to it to make it extra delicious. You get a red sauce and a green sauce with everything. The red sauce is a spicy but has a nice smoky flavor. The green is a little tangy, a little less spicy, and my personal favorite. Portions are pretty big for the price. I highly recommend this place. Food is usually ready quickly and packaged well. read more

I was not the biggest fan of the guacamole too many tomatoes for me. I like the avocado to be the star. My main meal was the ground beef huarache. I have never had one before. It was good, way too much food for just me. It seemed like a simpler dish. It came with a side of red and green salsa, of course I was excited to have more red salsa and the green was good as well. My only complaint was the smoke in the restaurant. Not sure if their hoods were broken or not on but the smoke was burning my eyes. I almost wished I would have gotten my food Togo.
