Five of us just had a really good lunch. Service was excellent. Waitress was on top of thinks from the minute we walked in until we left. Helped with the meal selection, stayed on top of the drinks and overall did an excellent job. Three of us tried new items and all were leased. Food was tasty and large portions. Will return soon and recommend to our friends. read more

Best Mexican food we have had in town ! It's not a quick taco place but more a sit down and has a great vibe inside. We went there once last week and have now been there twice since then .Good salsa and fresh chips, Best flan ! Its perfectly caramelized and tasty. We are vegetarian and they have a good amount of options and everything has a really great flavor. They get busy sometimes ,really busy.. so be patient if they are and don't get all huffy if you have to wait and start giving away 1 star . I am happy they are busy that means they are good right? All the servers have been very friendly and nice and we have had good service the times we have been there. read more

First time here and I must say the molcajete was the best I've ever tasted. My husband and I shared and it was more then enough. They really give you a lot of steak, shrimp and chicken portion. Definitely has a kick, but manageable heat. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Festive and traditional family Mexican restaurant. South of the border flair throughout the decor, and restaurant is clean and well maintained. Busy and full of Mexican patrons, a good sign for a Mexican restaurant :-) The margaritas are hand made, reasonably priced, and very good...lots of booze :-) We ordered the Bronco quesadilla and a taco combination plate. They were both very nice :-) read more

I really used to love this place, but it does not seem to have the same quality as before. The food here has always been average, but the drinks more than made up for it. Last year, my friends and I would come here at least a few times a week when we were in town and really enjoyed their Cadillac Margaritas. This year they have been really weak in flavor and alcohol, and there really is no reason to visit anymore. Fortunately, there are other places in town to get good drinks and better Mexican food, so you may want to skip this spot. read more

Terrible service, they. served other customers that arrived after us before even attending us. Weren't attended at all. If you're in lompoc try the food truck across the street or any other place instead! read more

I've tried this place many times over the years, always hoping for improvement. Nope. NEVER again! The quality of the food is marginal, and the price is consistently too high. This last visit convinced me to not return and to share with others here: OK, If you paid $7.95 for a Taquito Plate, just how many taquitos would you expect to receive? Hmmm. With lots of prior experience ordering taquitos at other restaurants over the years, I was certain that I would be looking at between 4 and 6 taquitos... Seems reasonable. But, no...... My taquito plate arrived with a spoonful of guacamole on the side, with TWO (2) small, greasy sub-standard taquitos. Hmmmm. Let's do the math: Basically $8 for 2 taquitos....uh huh....that's $4 each. You can go ANYWHERE else and do better than what you will receive here. Don't stop. Keep on driving..... And just be happy that you didn't waste your money at El Toro Bronco. read more

The waitress wanted to get rid of us right from the start. Definitely won't be wasting out money here ever again. We ordered a burrito with "no cheese, please". It came out with cheese anyways, which is fine, maybe it was just a mistake. I asked her if they could just re-make it.. She goes "can't you just scrape it off? It's only sprinkled on top"..... I should have said "no" but I didn't want to argue with my already terrible server. Scraped the cheese off, bit into the burrito and it has cheese packed into the insides. Gross... I can't eat cheese. Such a disappointment. The server didn't come back for over half an hour, and I'm pretty sure we were her only table. The place was practically empty. read more

So the other day, I'm all by myself in Lompoc wandering around aimlessly the evening before a significant appointment and I'm hungry. I find myself at the doorstep of El Toro Bronco .. I wander in and the nicest server brings me chips and takes my order - #6 combo (carne asada taco, shredded beef enchilada, rice, beans) and a corona, please. She walks away and returns with my beer in under a minute ... clearly this is the way to win my heart ... and as I chomp on chips and enjoy my drink, I take out some notes to do a little work while I wait BUT I barely have enough time to find my pen and throw a flirty wink at the table of hot boys (product of the airforce base nearby) across the way before my food arrives! no joke. I almost asked if the dish was intended for another customer - that's how fast it came out. sooooo so so good. I miss seriously good mexican food and this place will definitely see me again the next time I'm in the area. http://www.eltorobronco.lompoc.menuclub.com/ read more

Honestly, this place had the worse Mexican food I've ever had in my life and I love Mexican food! I have no idea why we even decided to give this place a try. I ordered a cadallic margarita and I'm pretty sure it was not parton. I am very sensitive to cheap liquor and I was very sick for 4 days and had to go to urgent care on the 4th day. It was unreal! The guacamole tasted like lettuce and looked like green slime with chunks of "vegetables" in it. I did take a picture and post it. There was nothing in there that tasted or looked like avocado. I also found it quite strange that the rice and beans were INSIDE my burrito. Rice and beans are staple side items. I did read afterwards that those things go inside, but still. The service wasn't bad and they took off the guacamole. ICK! read more

They were very busy and our server took the time to take care of us and made sure we had what we needed despite being swamped. I am grateful for her keeping up on the beverages while we have our dinner and she was just on top of it. I got the pastor burrito and it was very fresh and tender lean cuts without gristle. The pastor was flavorful and the salsa they used inside was not roasted unfortunately it was fresh salsa but that's personal preference. all in all they did a great job The flavors went very well together. Thank you to the staff for working hard during the rush of hungry families and couples having fun on their time off. I know it's hard but if you smile and keep the positive vibe you will be greatly rewarded or at least have a higher probability of it. New to the area and hope to discover more. read more

It seems when your not a regular you get lousy treatment. We walked in and waited 10 minutes only to see some "regulars" sat before us get service. It wasn't til I let them know I was pissed off that they brought s chips and salsa. Our hostess was in outer space. Forgetting about us, and gave me a refill 10 minutes later and that was only because I got pissed off again. If their claim of #1 food is true, the people in Lompoc need to come to L.A. for real good Mexican food. The tacos, though beefy were band, beans were super salty, and the atmosphere was more like McDonald's than a sit down eatery. I am being nice with two stars read more

Excellent and cheery atmosphere; I felt like I was in the gulf coast. I also had a friendly server, A. Abad. I came at 1300 on a Thursday and there seven other tables. She was the only server on the floor but she was attentive and kind. I came here in the blind (so to speak) upon verbal accolades from some coworkers. I should have read some reviews because I was expecting a taqueria format, but it's actually a full service restaurant. Nevertheless I ordered pollo asado tacos and left the restaurant satisfied, but not blown away (so to speak). I'm generally a taco consumer so I probably won't be coming back because there are plenty of other taquerias in Lompoc, but don't let that discourage you if you're looking for a full menu. There is enough room to bring your family. They take American Express. read more

Walked in with a few coworkers while on travel recently.. the look inside and the lighting and all is actually nice and welcoming. The waitress was friendly and also welcoming. The food? Let's see... I ordered the albondigas soup... the meatballs, typically made out of beef, some rice, and some othe veggies, was like 99% rice... yeah, rice balls. I was disappointed with the meatballs lack of MEAT and the overall flavor which was bland and needing some pizzaz.... maybe some cilantro, garlic, lime juice.. hell, even some beef flavor. I don't think I'll ever order that again... I actually make a very tasty albondigas soup at home which is heaven compared to this.. and to think it's so easy to make! yet they screw it up! I digress.... The chile relleno I also ordered was bland.. super oily and greasy and I think I took 2 bites of it and just didn't want to bother. The other folks at our table seemed to enjoy their food (empty plates)... but when we left later and I asked them what they thought, they replied "well, it's enough to make a turd" HAHAHAHAHA Okay, that was my line, but they agreed my line was appropriate for the meal had there: not delicious or craveable, but sufficient enough to make a turd. ah... gotta love the simplicity of the human need to eat, digest and turd. sorry.. that's gross... okay, so I likely won't be back, but at least I know of one additional place not worth visiting in Lompoc.. sadly. read more

A surprisingly good Mexican restaurant. My girlfriend and I were in Lompoc for a weekend of wine tasting, and ate here because of the Yelp reviews. We're both hard core Mexican food fans from LA, and had very high expectations. The margaritas were really good. We split the Molcajete - which had perfectly cooked asada and absolutely delicious camarones, with the expected sides. I also grabbed a few tacos a la carte. It was all good. We'll be back for sure. Service was cheerful and attentive, even though they were extremely busy. read more

I've been here five times & I've had really great service but the last time I was here (last month) they had no chips & salsa. That was probably the only reason I went but any-who, the waitress didn't even offer to help with the inconvenience with a dessert or something but to my dismay she didn't even apologize. Also, she came by twice to our table never asking how we were, how the food was & never gave us any refills. Definitely not coming back. read more

I visited this resturant a few weeks ago and it was ok. The ingredients are par at best. It is better then most of the Mexican Restaurants in Lompoc. In that category, I would rate it a 4. read more

10/11/14 Wanted a place near the hotel to get some goodies and found this place on yelp. Literally across the street from the hotel so added bonus after along drive from home. There was plenty of parking and we found a spot right out front. When we came in were were greeted so warmly by a nice young lady who sat us in the back area near the TVs where she was able to get the mlb playoff game on for us to watch. She took our order of drinks and gave us a moment to figure out what we wanted. When she brought over our drinks we both ordered our food. I got the chicken enchiladas with rice which was super yum!!! The bartender who happened to be our waitress' mother came to check on us to see how we liked our drinks and saw we needed another round and got those margaritas pretty quickly. The staff is just so super friendly. They really try to make sure you are taken care of and we really appreciated that. I would definitely check this place out again if we are in town. read more

El Toro Bronco - My youngest enjoying his time at El Toro Bronco - Mexican Near Me - Lompoc, California

Fairly standard Mexican restaurant with a bar. In terms of looks, this place is the most festive in the area with the paintings, tiles, and decorations. I like that salsa they serve, even if it's just mild. I can't recommend the guacamole, but I'm a bit picky. I like just some avocado with salsa mixed into it and I think they add sour cream to it. I believe most foodies find this to be an unnecessary step. I highly recommend the chicken Molcajete, not the beef. Why? The chicken comes out tender and juicy, while the beef gets tough and overdone. I love my carne medium rare. And that's really hard to get in restaurants where the beef is a really thin cut. read more

I used to eat here but haven't been here for a couple years. I brought a visiting relative. He ordered an XL Large beer but it was room temperature (on a hot day in Lompoc) and flat. The vegetarian tostada was extremely small portion wise. My chiles rellenos was okay. Better at Burrito Loco. I was embarrassed that my relative's order was such a letdown, and I won't be back. Waitress was very nice and accommodating but when we gently complained she had no ability to lower his bill or offer another entree to compensate him. read more

Recently took a close friend/my son to this place. I was truly dissappointed, not only did the waitress/owner lack hospitality it didn't seem like they cared if we came back. My son ordered the steak taco from the kids menu, the quality of the steak was awful/so was the rice. It was sticky and not well cooked. I had the flautas, they we're okay. My girlfriend had the fish and she was not impressed. We went in for happy hour and we're dissapointed to find out they only had margaritas as a choice. :( I won't be going back. read more

This Mexican food restaurant was just "asi asi" -- (so - so). On the negative side, the salsa reminded us of slightly spicy V8 juice with a few cilantro flakes sprinkled in. When my wife ordered a side of grilled veggies, we were told they were out... of vegetables. Seriously? What restaurant runs out of vegetables... The rice and beans were okay and the enchiladas suizas and carnitas were good. Overall, 3 stars, but can't recommend it and we won't be back. read more

Customer service: Good, service was prompt and friendly. Restaurant Appearance: Good, clean and good atmosphere Food: Ok, but depends on item. The chips and salsa were great. However, the enchilada sauce was worse than store bought canned. It tasted more like pizza sauce. Steak tacos were great. J2 read more

Been coming to this place forever, and all I can say is it has some features that draw me back and away from my true favorite for Mexican in Lompoc, the Taco Loco chain. Chips/Salsa to die for, and I always have to ask for extra salsa cause I end up putting it on my meal. The only thing that could make it 5 stars would be if the food was consistently great, not most of the time great. You can go wrong with some Mexican restaurants in Lompoc but probably not this one. read more

Staff is rude and very slow. No heaters since I'm forced to sit outside only. Good luck if you expect quality service.

WOW! This is some of the best Mexican I've ever had, who'd have expected it in Lompoc. The restaurant is pretty large, and well decorated. Our server was exceptional- she was attentive, offered suggestions for food, and provided us an overall great time. At the waitresses recommendation I ordered the Mocajete dish. This amazingness is representative of the basalt rock dish that stays super hot and keeps its contents hot too. Mine was filled with a very generous portion of shrimp, grilled nopales, and a delicious and rich sauce. Served with tortillas and rice and beans, this was an incredible feast! Everyone at the table was pleased with their dinners. It was served hot, appeared fresh and an all around great meal. I would definitely return here next time I'm in Lompoc. read more
