The restaurant itself was cute. There are indoor and outdoor seating available. Came in with a party of 6 on a Tuesday at around 6p. About a 10 minute wait to be seated. The service is really slow. It must have been almost an hour wait to get our food. We got to the restaurant at 5:50p and left at around 8p. I got the Quesadilla Fajitas "Ajua." It was a good idea, but poorly executed (in my opinion). I think if the bell peppers and onions were a bit smaller, it wouldn't have overwhelmed the entire dish. The flavor of the chicken was good. I wish they used a different type of cheese and maybe added more cheese. The deep fried ice cream was good. Nothing special. I would go back to try it again, but the wait is way too long. read more

I opened the to-go box immediately after getting back to my car. My eyes lit (and teared) up as the longest 7 minutes of my life had passed, and I had in front of me the heartiest, cheesiest, happiest veggie-loaded monster. This drool-inducing dish along with the consistently amazing service I've come to expect at El Toro Bronco in Lompoc totally made up for the lack of Happy Hour margaritas and endless chips and salsa I'd originally come for (no thanks to COVID-19 safety measures). This was a blessing in disguise; that quesadilla (twice as big as my face) spilled over with succulent chunks of mushroom, perfectly browned onion and bell pepper, and scrumptious melted cheese. They didn't skimp on the fresh guacamole and sour cream, either. This was the best $10 I'd spent in a very long time. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu! read more

Came out to have light snacks and drinks with friends. I've been here many times before and service usually lacks especially when it's busy. Today was equally as busy but the service was SUPERB! Our waitress "China" was constantly checking in on us which was amazing. There wasn't a time I didn't have anything I needed. Well this is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lompoc (open to recommendations). Like the size of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. First let's talk about the drinks. Man I love the tajin margarita. Now if you don't want the full flavor you can just drink it out of the straw. But the glass is lined with tajin and when you drink it that way WOW LOOK OUT. The flavor in the drink is amazing. I would like a little more alcohol but that because my tolerance is kind of high (Thanks RoK, LOL). You can get regular size but I prefer the Bronco size. This time I went I got 2 chili rellenos that were on top of shredded chicken. Ok first I like my chili rellenos filled with meat (beef or chicken, him what would shrimp taste like) and cheese. So with the chicken being underneath it was kind of different. The beans and rice are always good. Rosa was our waitress and made sure our party had a great time. She was kind and playful. Been awhile since I had Siete Mares. Learned about this joint from another server in another restaurant who swore this is THE place to go to in Lompoc for not only Mex dishes but noteworthy Marguis. This restaurant located on H street in Lompoc was not a pleasant dining experience at all. I ordered their tostada and a draft beer. The tostada was very small especially for a price of nearly 12 dollars! It was mostly rice with some shredded lettuce and refried beans. The beer was flat and not cold. I will not be back. read more

The food was meh. Hubs had the albondigas soup. It looked good. Meatballs were tasty. Wasn't that fond of the broth--a little too salty. I ordered the Tostada Toro Bronco. Dinner with friends last night. Came here as we all craved a margarita. Felt like Baja on the beach. The cockroach/lobster/shrimp (?) on the bucking bronco out front confused me but what the heck, try it anyway! First off the margaritas were spot on! I had the Pomegranate margarita, loved it! Right brain and the friends had the Cadillac. We were all primed but not silly eyed after the drinks to eat. Mine was the jumbo grilled shrimp, beans, rice and salad, wow! I ordered a side of the house white sauce to dip them, will do that again! The shrimp, however, was not jumbo, but seven of them helped my hunger. Delish nonetheless. Right brain had the fajitas and totally loved it. Rare for him even to go Mexican, so there is hope! Friends had seafood salad and enchiladas, all smiles, all good. I'm pleasantly surprised with everything about this restaurant. It right away reminded me of El torito in LA but El Toro Bronco is much much better. The Mango Margarita was good, I like it a bit sweeter but the amount of alcohol it had made up for it. The server Celia I believe is her name was outstanding. She managed to help a party of 17 without any complications or fuss. The fajita mix was so tasty and so was the Camarones a la Diabla. Will definitely be back when in town. read more

I had tried a couple things from here but it's pretty pricey for portion amount received. Possibly why they start you with baskets of chips huh. Any who, foods pretty good. What just throws me off about this place are the vibes. I would highly recommend some music, a host who greets/ welcomes customers as they come in so they're acknowledged, they would also sit them with silverware and a menu. I see they lack hospitality here and it's been just recent. If you go back to older reviews this place did great. Management step up the game! During my visit we saw staff just chopping it up for over 5 minutes in the corner while my mom walked over to a stack of menus pretty annoyed. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food to begin with, I know I know, sue me. My fiancé on the other hand could eat Mexican cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We've gone here a couple times now and both times we have been completely satisfied. The prices are reasonable, food is tasty. I'm a quesadilla fan so I've gotten the steak quesadilla a couple of times. The first time I had it I recall it being pretty good and enjoying the steak. This last time I got it I wasn't a fan of the meat. They loaded it full of steak which would be great if the meat had a lot of flavor but it was a little lacking this time. I picked most of it out. But with some sour cream, guacamole, and salsa, everything tastes good lol. My fiancé usually gets a burrito of some sort. His most recent was the carne asada burrito. And let me tell you, their burritos are HUGE. And the fiancé devoured the whole damn thing. For 2 meals a beer, our bill can out to just under 30$ which is a pretty good deal for how much food is presented to you. Oh and don't forget, of course they serve chips and salsa and the chips have always been fresh and warm and the salsa is pretty good too. It's definitely a place we will continue to frequent and I'd suggest it to others in the area as well. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Lompoc. The food is always great with a menu that has options for everyone (adults, kids, those with diet restrictions, low carb etc.) What sets El Toro Bronco apart in my opinion is the amazing service you receive every time you go. They have several larger seating areas so if you have a larger group in town give them a call and they can reserve space for you in the Cantina or other seating area. The drink specials are fun for happy hour and you can't go wrong with a plate of steaming hot fajitas. The location is also off the main road in Lompoc so easy to navigate for those not familiar with the area. A short 5 minute drive from most hotels in the area or a short 15 minute drive from VAFB if you are in town working on the base. read more

Overall, the mexican food is pretty standard here. Before this visit, I thought the Burrito Bronco was pretty good and I'd rate the restaurant 3 stars. I got the Molcajete this time and it was phenomenal. Awesome grilled flavor in the skirt steak, tender roasted cactus, fresh mexican cheese, grilled tomatoes and new onions, and a great spicy sauce. Comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas and rice/beans on the side. The molcajete achieved such depth of flavor, it was unforgettable. Comes in a hot lava rock. You can split this with someone else and eat it like fajitas. That, plus their premium margaritas, and you'll be in heaven. So, the one complaint I have is that our party had 33 people--and one waitress. It wasn't a complete disaster, but the delay in getting our food was rather significant. This speaks for itself. Overall, standard Mexican joint with a few standouts on the menu bring this to 4 stars. read more

Stumbled upon this place along 'the strip' of Lompoc and decided to give it a try. It has a very chain feel to it, and the menu has a lot of different choices, but it can be tricky so make sure you read everything. For example, I ordered guacamole, but they have it as an appetizer--comes with chips, large side, or small side. So I had a fish taco and large side of guacamole. The fish taco was pretty good. Cabbage and onions were fresh, and the piece of fish was crsipy. 2 tortillas kept it from falling apart. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp fajitas. They came with a good amount of shrimp, bell pepper,onion, and tomato, but only 3 tortillas and they charge you for more. The shrimp were a bit overcooked, but veggies were good. The rice and beans were fine, normal side. Overall this place is fine. The prices seem reasonable, except that they nickle and dime you for chips and tortillas. read more

The BEST Mexican food I've had in California. I have an unhealthy obsession with their Enchiladas Verdes which melt in your mouth and the Cadillac margaritas which are not for the faint of heart! They deliver on all points: flavor, authenticity, and service. I've also had their guac which is fresh and well balanced, the ceviche torta which is refreshing and flavorful, and the carne asada and shrimp plate. Omg!!! Love love love. I am posting this review on Valentines Day because I absolutely love love love this place. I am a fan now everytime i pass through. Everything from the service to the food and especially the drinks. I couldn't be more happier with this place. The drinks are sooo cheap and they have my favorite beer on tap- Modelo ;) The Michaladas are made beyond perfect and they bring them fast. The chips and salsa is good and the food here is great. It came out better than my moms and even familys recipes. Shhhh dont tell lol. You can tell its made with love. This business gets 5 stars from me and i can wait to review it again and again. I recommend anything with cheese here. Decadent. By the way everything here is kept very clean including the bathrooms. And they have an out let you can charge your phone by the front door. Woohoo.
