Albondigas! Tasty! (Senior Jeff behind )

The food is excellent and the service is, too. It's so good, I come every week with my friends.

Came by for their daily happy hour (2 pm - 4 pm) on Saturday. So cool that they offer it weekdays and weekends. HH beer offerings include draft and bottled beer. Unfortunately, they did not have their seasonal draft which was a Sierra Nevada IPA. I ordered a Pacifico. The also had lime margaritas on their HH (less than $4). I had them on the rocks and blended. For food, I ordered their Guero Fries. Food came out timely and at the right temperature. Everything I ordered was good and I was very satisfied. HH items are nicely priced. I'll definitely return.

I am a regular here and Maya Mexican Restaurant is like home. It's beautiful in the restaurant too! I love Alicia as our server! She handles business and works hard to make sure her customers are happy. Emily is a win also! She welcomes everyone with a smile and keeps the food and drinks flowing. The whole team is welcoming and pleasant. Always saying hello and goodbye from the back of the kitchen to the front door service. We visit weekly and are never disappointed. The food is amazing! We try random, new things all the time and have never been disappointed. Thank you Alicia, Emily, and the whole team at Maya, our second home!

Was in town unfortunately for another funeral. I remember how good the food was here so I definitely was looking forward to eating at the restaurant. Mayas definitely did not disappoint!! Everything we ordered was amazing. I never go with combo plates so I decided to order a chicken enchilada and a beef taco. I loved it all .My man ordered a wet chili verde burrito. Burrito was a great size and the chili verde was so fireeee. Yum ! My daughter ordered 2 enchiladas. She said it was delicious. And her friend ordered asada tostadas. Asada had a great flavor. The beans and rice was perfect. Had so much flavor! What dessert we all split a fried ice cream ,so damn good. Our waiter and the hostess was very friendly. It was a perfect night. Only downside is I lost my sunglasses lol lol . I look forward to coming back next time I'm in the area.

It was Tuesday and I had yet to try tacos at a brick and mortar in Santa Maria. I get coupons in the mail for Maya's Mexican Restaurant and was eager to dine there as I love to support a family-owned, local business. . First off, the service was great. Emily was the most courteous and attentive waitress and definitely kept her head on a swivel as she was the only server on the floor mid afternoon. I came in for happy hour which is everyday 2pm-4pm, but I didn't order anything from the happy hour menu because what I wanted wasn't on there. Maybe my expectations were high in comparison to tacos in Los Angeles and San Diego, but the food here was OK. I can't rave about it, but it wasn't bad either. . I got two (2) soft chicken tacos which only come with cheese and lettuce. I requested no cheese and to add cilantro and onion as well as that's what I thought all tacos were donned with in Southern California. Boy, was I wrong. Emily is sharp and gave me a plastic ramekin of the requested toppings as they charge extra for that. I also got chips and salsa, which were $3 versus being complimentary in most Mexican restaurants. To my liking and good for sinus clearing, the salsa is medium, not mild. Therefore, be mindful if you can't stand the heat. My nose started to run from the spice level, but the masochist in me was entralled. . Wish I could say the same about my food. There were only two other parties totaling five (5) patrons present, including myself. The kitchen took close to 20 minutes to make two tacos. I did notice they were several other staff prepping for a catering order so the cooking for said event probably took priority above my two tacos. The chicken was grilled well, but barely seasoned and a little dry. They also served it with lemon (which I love for my water), but I had to specifically request a lime. When I got the bill, I noticed Emily did not charge me for the chips and salsa probably because my food took longer than usual, I tipped her on what would have been the total with it included. I ate all I ordered because I was hungry, but I've had better authentic Mexican food especially tacos, elsewhere and for less money too. . In comparison to other reviews, this place seems to be hit or miss. And it's small choices like no limes served with tacos, charging extra for standard toppings, etc... that make it so. . To end on a good note, an everyday happy hour definitely makes this place stand out. They also have really cute Mexican decor and artwork. I'm happy I finally took the opportunity to dine here.

Carne asada Quesadillas and rice and Side of Rice & Beans

The quesadilla was the best quesadilla I ever had. I'm Mexican so I have had a lot of quesadillas in my life. The meat was tender and full of flavor. It was busy but they sat me and my mom quickly and service was great. It's a bit expensive but I think it's worth it.

Chili Rellano with Rice and Rfried beans

Stopped in during the weekend for the $12.50 lunch special. Ordered Chili Rellano wirh Rice and Refried Beans. Comes with a Spicy salsa, so changed it to a more mild flavored one. Because it's a Lunch Sowcialnportions seem smaller. But food was good. Added a basketball Tortilla chips for $3.00, which do not have flavor or salt. Server told me these are air fried. I did mention that these are Not tasty. Service was good. Its a Cozy Cafe and busy for lunch. Patio seating in the back of the cafe.

Off the grid on a side street. Very nice inside lots of art and colors. Nice Mexican American vibe! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Checked in on us many times. My wife had Enchiladas with rice and beans. I had the Pozole very good lots of flavor. Salsa had a kick and delicious.

Soggy nachos not Chilaquiles.

I will not spend my money at this establishment again. If I wanted sight nachos I would've asked for that instead of chilaquiles.

Love this place, always a winner for my family and friends! It's my mom's go-to restaurant and I have yet to find a place that she brags more about! I can honestly say I agree with her, the refresh / facelift on the inside looks great the staff is always polite and kind :) Honestly no complaints about anything other than it being packed lol but that just goes to show you how much people outside my house and family love The Maya as well! Keep up the amazing work you guys :] you make my heart happy and my tummy full

Spanish Omelette with Cheese

Recently revisited the maya after quite some time and it was as good as ever. The menudo was delicious, and the Spanish omelette had such great flavor! Service was quick and friendly, very accommodating. My family of 10 sat outside on the patio which had umbrellas and was protected from the wind. Definitely a nice way to enjoy our breakfast, can't wait to go back!

There's also a full bar where you can order local brews, plus a self‑serve condiment bar to customize your meal. The staff was friendly and quick to bring out our food. Seating is plentiful both indoors and outside, with umbrellas for shade. Parking is easy, with spots on the street and in the lot next door. The architecture and décor give the whole place a charming old‑Spanish feel. The food was incredible and will definitely bring us back. The Emmit BBQ Bacon Burger was our favorite. The thick bacon was cooked perfectly, and the onion ring added a great crunch. The patty was cooked medium‑well and packed with flavor. This is one of the best burgers we've ever had. The tri‑tip sandwich was also great. We loved its simplicity and the moist, tender meat with very little fat. The locally made bun really elevated it. They serve BBQ sauce on the side, which paired nicely with the tri‑tip. The 50/50 basket is huge--we didn't expect so much food, but we weren't complaining. The onion rings were excellent. This will be a must‑stop on every trip down to SoCal from now on.

For our leisurely drive from San Diego to San Francisco, my wife had plotted several stops of…read morecities she thought would be fun places to stop to break up our almost 8 hour drive. My wife is an amazing trip planner and she chose stops in Santa Barbara, Solvang, Santa Maria, Carmel, and Monterey. I'm a foodie and once my life pahtner told me about Santa Maria being known for their style of BBQ, I was looking forward to our stop in Santa Maria and grubbing on Santa Maria style BBQ. After checking the different BBQ restaurants on Yelp and factoring in our timeline, I selected Rancho Nipomo Deli & BBQ as the joint that we would experience Santa Maria BBQ. Tri-tip BBQ is the preferred meat choice, but Rancho Nipomo's version was okay and tasty. I enjoyed their chicken BBQ chicken and their chili beans were extremely memorable. Eating inside the restaurant was a little frustrating, but the customer service from their staff was much appreciated. Rancho Nipomo is located on the 101 freeway specifically off of Exit 175 and on Cuyama Lane. It's a short distance from the exit off of the 101, so this restaurant is a convenient stop if you're pressed for time. There were other BBQ restaurants in Santa Maria, but the other restaurants didn't open until 4pm and we didn't have the luxury of waiting around. Rancho Nipomo is located across from 805 Barbecue Brand restaurant and it's diagonal from Taqueria Los Quates. There is some parking in front of the restaurant, but it's mainly street parking. Rancho Nipomo is a spacious restaurant with plenty of indoor seating and there's plenty of covered umbrella outdoor seating. We ate inside and had to battle disruptive flies, so I recommend you eat outside. I recommend that management keep their doors closed to keep these pests out. There are large screen televisions to watch sports and there was a stage where bands play music on certain days. I liked the decor inside with a mural of Mexican cowboys, the California Republic homage above the tvs, the faux Gold Rush saloon as the backdrop of the stage, the Indian statues, and the decorative old school chandelier. The young lady behind the register provided exemplary customer service, other staff I interacted with were friendly, and I love that they honor Veterans like me with a free fountain drink. Besides Santa Maria-style BBQ, Rancho Nipomo serves Mexican food that incorporates BBQ; it serves burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs; it serves munchies; it serves salads, and you can satisfy your sweet tooth with their desserts. I honestly did not know the city of Santa Maria had their own style of BBQ, so I was really looking forward to tasting what that style of BBQ tastes like. After perusing their menu, I decided to order their Central Coast Smokin' Combo because it had two different types of meats. This combo comes with a 1/4 BBQ Chicken, 1/2 lb Smoked Tri-Tip, Spanish Rice, West Coast Chili Beans, and two flour tortillas. It was a good amount of food because I had part of my chicken and tri-tip as leftovers, which was a yummy late night snack on our trip. I was looking forward to eating the tri-tip, but even though it ate well with the tortillas, I thought it was dry and underwhelming. The highlights for me were the chicken, the chili beans, and the rice. The chicken was cooked perfectly, it was tender, seasoned really well, and it tasted great by itself or in a tortilla. The chili beans were mind blowing, savory, addicting, and I wished there was more. Combining either BBQ meat with the chili beans and rice inside a tortilla made for a delectable bite. Make sure to grab all of their complimentary salsas to add some spice to your BBQ. My wife ordered The Cali Cheese Steak Sandwich, which comes with smoked tri-tip ends, Monterey Jack cheese, bell peppers, and grilled onion all encompassed in a fresh toasted Telera bun. Sincerely, one of the best cheese steak sandwiches I've ever eaten and I didn't eat it until I had it as a late night snack. We also ordered their fries, which were seasoned and delicious. Rancho Nipomo Deli & BBQ is a must visit if you want to indulge in Santa Maria-style BBQ. Their tri-tip was okay, but I highly recommend their BBQ chicken and their West Coast chili beans. If you're planning to order a sandwich, a Must Order is their Cali Cheese Steak sandwich.
