Ordered two burritos. They were quite large. The food was very good and much better than the other Mexican restaurant 2 miles away. Service was quick, I did takeout but the inside was cute and clean. My only ding on this restaurant was that I ordered a side of sour cream and it was $2.25. I can buy a 16 oz container for that price! Seems a bit ridiculous to me so beware on the extras/sides. Over all, $26 for two burritos in my opinion signals it's time for me to stick to home cooking. read more

Wow! This place is amazing and the food was absolute perfection. Norma was our server and she was extremely nice and caring, getting us everything that we need. I ordered the asada burrito and just half of it would have filled me up. The steak had an amazing smoked flavor and was stuffed to the max with rice, beans, cilantro, cheese, and onions. My wife ordered chicken enchiladas and daughter ordered chicken tacos and bean burritos. They loved every bite of it as well and we are definitely coming back. read more

Went in for food and spoke with the owner. She said the credit card machine was the cause of the problem, and she had a new one. As I cannot dispute what she is telling me, and she has no reason to lie, I will accept this explanation. BTW, the lunch we had was awesome! read more

My friend lives in the area and suggested having lunch here as it is their go to for comfort food. I'm so happy she made this suggestion. This restaurant is located in a strip mall, the dining area is on the smaller side, it is clean and the servers are so friendly!! They offer a nice selection of Mexican food and serve chips and salsa when you sit down We ordered tacos and burritos. Everything was tasty. I wish we had tried other option to see if the other dishes were just as good. We will try more next time as this is a great comfortable place for lunch. read more

On our anual trip to get our Christmas tree, we stopped here to eat before our day ahead. Inside seating are is small but the way the tables are organized made it possible for 10 of us to seat together without feeling crammed. Our waitress was very attentive and on top of her game getting all our different orders just right. Kept the chips and salsa coming without having to ask her. I ordered the chile verde burrito and it was a very generous order. I could only eat half so I saved the second half for the ride back home. The sauce in the chile verde tasted very nice on the beans, rice and pork. My sister loved her albóndigas and my husband enjoyed his chilaquiles. Everyone else seemed happy with their order. My son was the happiest with this fish tacos. He said they were very nicely seasoned and cook perfectly without tasting greasy. Parking right outside and nearby. As first timers, my boyfriend and I both had menudo on a Friday morning. It was so authentic and really good to say the least. We both also had horchata which could have been a little less sweet. The service was quick and I appreciate that when they only have one server doing everything! They could use more help in the front [my opinion]. The restaurant was on the smaller size so I suggest you call if you have a big party dining. I will come back to try different plates. read more

The aroma & service makes you feel like you're at home, they never fail to disappoint. Small restaurant but great tasting food. Been here twice. This time I ordered a Tamale and it was full of meat and very delicious.

Recently came towards closing time. The only waitress, I suspect she is tied to the owning family, waived us in. We were. Larger party of 14, but it didn't seem to faze her. The food was fantastic and the service was Amazing! Good authentic Mexican food! I highly recommend! Cheers! read more

We had a birthday party at our house catered from here last night and the food was absolutely top notch. They delivered on time and every single guest raved about how delicious the food was. We had chicken and beef tacos, cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, chips, salsa and incredible guacamole. The tacos stayed crispy, and the best part was everything tasted soooooo good. I am not the best at articulating, but the bottom line is that this food was the best. Cute little restaurant, with fantastic Mexican food. The service is fast, and they're always helpful with recommendations. Everything is good, but the enchiladas and wet burritos are the best! Basically, just make sure whatever you get either has enchilada sauce on it or get some on the side it's the best I've ever had in my life. This quaint restaurant is very welcoming and pleasant to eat at with hanging colorful decor and great friendly service~ You are presented with warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa and they are always pleased to offer you refills~ You can request extras's Such as adding a certain item and they are always obliged to do so- This evening I ordered The Viejo Grande Burrito and it was so mouthwatering delicious! I love their thick tasty sauce that smothered my burrito and is packed with flavor! So my husband and I were coming home from southern California and I said oh how about some Mexican food. So right away I knew Nipomo had different Mexican restaurants so I did a yelp and this one came up. Excellent reviews I wish I would've read them first because I think I would've tried the Chile Verde burrito.. Anyway, my husband had the Carnitas dinner and I had a Carnitas tostada both were good and we have a little bit of leftovers. He had a Pacifico and I had a Modelo beer. We could tell that this was a very friendly restaurant as the waitress knew quite a few people that were there. There was one waitress, and one girl that helped her, but things kept moving. The atmosphere was OK. It's very small and when we got there, luckily we got the last table available. And it worked out well for others that were behind us as people would leave and they would take their place. This is an out of the way restaurant so I know why locals would definitely go here. read more

Once again, Rancho Viejo doesn't disappoint. A quaint family restaurant with table service, not a counter order place, which is our preference. Their food is some of the best I've had and a standout in Nipomo (IMO). Add to that, our server Norma, who was so sweet, friendly and attentive, made our night out very enjoyable. Luticia (sp?), the owner, seated us and she felt like a mom greeting us; so friendly and made us very welcome and like family. The salsa is really good, but some might find it a bit on the zippy side (which I love). My wife had a side Chile relleno (delicious!) and the combo dinner of flautas that are perfectly cooked (no hard shell/tortilla) with tasty chicken and beef fillings. I had the special of the night, the camarones al mojo de ajo, which included the albondigas soup. Muy bueno! The albondigas soup is exceptional IMO; hot, the way soup should be, and flavorful. The food and service was good and the price was nice I would come back for sure not a large place but nice and clean
