Ok so I live around the corner for 33 years I have been coming to this el torito back when there was a big Karaoke Following Sat Night .......lol Food has always been Consistent ! Had maybe 3 bad food night of all those years thats pretty good !! Here is the bummer this location got sold and to corporate big company I am assuming /heard/and can tell the difference. Smaller menu , quality of food gone down , Their remodel on this place is cheap how cheap go look in girls bathroom and you will see how cheap they covered the tile walls in plastic wall paper so cheesy , the remodel mis matching lack of Mexican feel is sad its an awkward blend of a mismatched look. Music how hard is it to put on "good true authentic Mexican music ! " its a mis matched as the decor ! Come on Corporate get on it !!!!!! this place is a gold mine always has been !!! Location Location Location but we the people like consistency and the changes your making are making old timers like us bow out and go find our new go to ! Someone is dropping the ball by cutting corners we the consumers are awake read more

Gloria was so kind and attentive. Service was excellent. Definitely will be asking for her the next time I come.

El Torito - Chicken fajitas - Mexican Near Me - Cypress, California

I am only writing a review for the Sunday Brunch. As for regular dining I cannot rate El Torito that high unfortunately. As for the Sunday Brunch, I was pleasantly surprised. For $15 you get an all you can eat buffet and champagne! The food has a variety of basic breakfast food and Mexican food, and it actually is appetizing. There is a made to order taco cook and made to order fresh omelets. Included is other variety of soup, salad and other unlimited hot food. What you get for the price is great! On top of the good food, is the quick and attentive service. I will definitely return for the Sunday Brunch! read more

I come here very very often and I always have a good experience! Gotta come back for happy hour again soon! read more

Yesterday me and my husband came back from traveling. We decided to go to alter ego because it's our usual favorite spots. Yesterday Larry H was our server and we have never had service like this he was fantastic! He made us feel nodded ignored and was a pleasure. It's nice to go to a restaurant and feel welcomed and appreciated as a customer . Larry H seems to enjoy his job. Thank you El Torito for las nights meal! read more

Our waitress, Gaby, was amazing! She was very fast and nice. We will be coming back here :)

Good place to eat. I usually go to the Anaheim one. Today December 4th at 3:20 pm we asked the waitress to put the Chargers and by Buccaneers. She told the bar tender. Waited 10 minutes still did not do it. All the tvs were set to one game Raiders all 8 of them. This is I'm guessing a place of business correct? So if you want business you would have to appeal to everyone's team. At 3:45 pm we asked again. The waitress asked to. By the way the waitress are great. Went up to the bar. So it's evident that maybe the bartenders like to watch their team. The Anaheim location appeals to everyone. read more

Arturo was our server and provided great service. The food was delicious and the wait time was short.

Thank you so much for your amazing and fast service on our mother's day brunch. Marleni was the kindest server we have ever had at el torito and was on top of all our needs. read more

The food was okay, but it was slightly pricey for what we got. The mahi mahi tacos were pretty good and the all you can eat deals was neat. But. We waited over 50 (fifty) minutes after ordering for the meal to arrive! Another 50 for the second to arrive! You can't possibly have worse service. This place is only worth going during happy hour. read more

Our server Ximena was real attentive, friendly and she took good care of our orders. She would come by every 5-10 minutes to check up on our food and refills. When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess. We requested a table for a party of 2. She insisted we go to the cantina since its self serve and when we told her no thank you, we'd prefer to get a table. She told us that it'll be a bit. Note, it was Sunday evening. Not one person in the waiting area to be seated. The parking lot was fairly empty and there were about 6 tables taken up during that time we walked in. After we waited, she turned around and walked us over to our table. I'm not sure if it was because she didn't want to walk us over to the tables or what the case was but it was very rude of her, especially since she's on the clock and working. Her body language was unwelcoming and it appeared as if she was being lazy and she didn't want to walk. She was a fairly heavy set lady. The only reason why I'm giving this rating a 5 star rather than a 1 star is because it's not fair to rate our server a bad score since we was amazing and it wasn't her fault that her coworker was being lazy and unwelcoming. Overall, our serve made our experience a great one. read more

Had dinner on Friday here. This is probably my favorite El torito. They real have their stuff together here at this location. I tried the new roasted tomato soup and it was so good. I hope it stays on the menu. A server that we always remember is Gloria. She's like someone you know personally. We ask for things, wave at her and you feel comfortable asking her because she's always in a good mood. People like Gloria make you want to come back over and over again:) . So glad to be dining indoors again! read more

Came here to watch a game and sat by the bar. It took almost 20 minutes to get a menu!?!? Really dude... And even then we were friendly and ordered our drinks. Then it takes at least 10 minutes to walk over 2 beers. Give me a break! Rather go to the new local place that opened up called On The Rocks Bar and Grill. Your better than that baby... read more

Came back for birthday dinner/drinks and started out awesome. I didn't know that you guys had happy hour every day, needless to say we got a margaritas off the happy hour menu, they were good. Bartender was busy but attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of beer, hung out and ordered food. Food was mediocre at best, pretty sure the chips and salsa had more flavor than the entree meal. The bill came with a slight error and the woman covering the bartender at the time had that handled, however, they took the cheaper error off rather than the actual one he said would be handled.. Then it came to another adjustment (birthday meal email) I showed the woman covering (wish I got her name but she worked Saturday, 11/5/16, ~9:40pm) she got some attitude with a sigh and went back to the pos system to edit then had a completely separate guy drop us off our check at the bar, took it as slightly rude. If you don't like your corporate job, and how they treat you then f-in quit or get a different job outside the restaurant industry. Will not ever be back. read more

We came on a Saturday night, at about 9pm. We were seated in about 15 minutes. The waiter, Arturo, was prompt in stopping at our table and let us know he'd back by in a minute for orders. He had the knowledge I was looking for when I asked about one of the drinks. He was very courteous and tentative. Our food took a little bit to come out but was still very hot and so dang delicious. We'll definitely be back. read more

No wait for table of 4 on a week night to celebrate my birthday with my kids and husband. Gloria was our server and did a wondeful job! She was very attentive to out orders and explained the dishes to us so that there were no surprises and everyone was happy. Our drinks and food and desserts came quickly and accurately. This El Torito location is large, clean and well staffed. read more

I like this place because of the taco lady - she's so friendly and happy to serve you. I ususally go here during lunch for the $8.99 lunch buffet. The price is very reasonable for the amount AND variety of food you're getting. This buffet also includes the taco bar. My favorites are the tacos, tortilla soup, and sweet corn bread; and I get unlimited amounts for only $8.99! My waistline always has a fight with me afterwards, but definitely worth it once in a while :). read more

Always excellent food and always excellent deals! I went on a Wednesday for their bottomless enchilada special (which is actually cheaper than just or ding the enchilada). I love their enchiladas so I was definitely satisfied with the food! However, service always seems to be an issue at this location. If you're put at a table near the kitchen, the waiters come by more often. However if your put near the back, it's hard to even get someone's attention. We waited a very long time to even get water or the check. Normally if it's just me, I don't care. But I went with my family and a group of impatient Italians is never a fun time, so the wait became very apparent. Overall, I love the food and deals! Just maybe not this location in particular. (Unless it's brunch!! Can NEVER go wrong with brunch on Sunday's!!!) read more
