Came here for dinner recently and received excellent service with our server Gloria! The 5 stars is definitely for her! Always provided refills without even asking, took our orders quickly, and served our food quickly all while being very friendly and professional. My husband and I decided to give this location another try since our two previous visits were very lackluster as the food and service were not great. Now the food is pretty good and the service is FANTASTIC! We will be making this a regular spot of ours and request Gloria when we come :-) read more

El Torito - Thank you Alfredo for being very attentive! Will definitely be coming back beautiful place - Mexican Near Me - Cypress, California

I have always loved El Torito and frequented the two Long Beach locations unfortunately some locations have closed. Busy Sunday the shift between brunch getting over and the evening shift starting. This means servers are doing side work from the brunch day and the start of evening shift waiter has to take on more tables that he can possibly serve to the restaurants typical standard which is higher. Management probably is aware of this time period , please better address this for the server and customer's experience. The bold move to put right on menu a percentage increase due to labor conditions is absolutely ridiculous. Bye bye El Torito for me read more

We went here for lunch today and it was a very pleasant experience. They have an all you can eat until 2 pm which looked delicious. Our server was Gaby and she was absolutely the sweetest and one of the most attentive servers I have ever had. Given Covid is still somewhat present I wish they would have seated us a little bit further from other patrons since there were other empty tables and there were some flies around our table which was weird. But the service and food was good. read more

They have a new drink that is delicious. Its called a Mango Mezcal Margarita ( I had it on the rock) it has a unique smoky flavor to it. With a Tajin rim and that makes the drink and chili mango inside its a party for sure. read more

The food was wonderful! We highly recommend the carnitas. We had great service provided by Mario. He has a great sense of humor and made sure our needs were met. The decor in the restaurant is very nice and comfortable. When you go, ask for Mario! read more

Overall food and service was good. Reason for the 2 stars: We were a party of a mix crowd and as we were leaving to give our waiter his tip. (He was talking to his coworkers towards the back of the house) we called him to get his attention. And the buss lady that was standing next to him called the gentleman handing him his tip a derogatory name in Spanish. ( not the "N" word) but a derogatory Spanish word. Not knowing the African American gentleman spoke Spanish. As our friend walked away giving the money to our waiter, he told the lady in Spanish that he understood what she said and her jaw dropped to the floor as well as the other waiters and employees standing with them. We called the manager over and advise him about the situation and all he could do was say he was embarrassed about the situation. And that was it. We do not condone racism and will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

I am updating my last review for El Torito that I gave them a two star. As you will notice I am dropping it to a one star because it seems to be a systemic issue of poor guest service with El Torito. Many know the saying that the fish rots at the head, that's the perfect saying for El Torito restaurant. After leaving my review Antonio Santana from El Torito reached out to me and wanted to get my information so that he could more information and try to rectify the issue. I provided him with my cell phone and email address, yes you guessed it he never responded back it was all lipservice. Now you can see why the employees respond the way they do. It's a lack of training and follow up and follow through. read more

The Bar Tender, Samuel Limon greets you with chips and salsa. He then carefully prepares custom cocktails. My favorite is the Cadillac Margarita! The cleanliness of the bar area shows that this restaurant really cares about their customers by following the state guidelines for disinfecting. Simon, Thank you for the outstanding service and an exceptional bar experience. read more

Gloria was excellent! Amazing service! Very professional and kind! Would highly recommend her to anyone!

I can always count on a good dinner at this El Torito. This is our go to El Torito for the service, drinks and food. El Torito always changes the menu items and cocktails. Maria had the new Cranberry Cadillac Margarita, and it was really good. I kept it simple with the Chicken and Sour Cream Enchiladas and I tore them up. Plus, we got great service from Gloria, she's been our waitress a few times and she's the best. We'll be back soon. read more

I've been thinking about this review for a week now. I don't normally review chain restaurants like El Torito, but given they are struggling, I thought some feedback might be in order. We arrived on a Friday night (8/9) as a party of four adults and two children. We were seated within five minutes. Chips came fast, but drinks were delayed because our waiter did not come to our table for ten minutes. We ordered food 15 minutes later (again, a waiter issue) and then waited 30 minutes for our food. So in general, everything related to service was slow. Our food came out is three visits over ten minutes. At least the kids got their food fast, but the dining experience was disjointed and our dining experienced suffered. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer, which were great. I also ordered the Friday night special all you can eat fish or shrimp tacos. I ordered all shrimp tacos and they were just ok. My son ordered the same but mixed up shrimp and fish. His fish tacos were overcooked and bland. We both ordered a second round of shrimp tacos, which was a mistake. We waited at least 30 minutes or longer for the second round and by the time they came, we had already been given our bill. The second round... rubber shrimp served cold, were horrible. I think the strategy on the all you can eat tacos is delay and then send out the leftovers. There is no way our tacos were cooked fresh and no reason why we would have to ask, ask again and then ask a third time for our second round. Plus, a 30 minutes on an all you can eat item is ridiculous. Over the years I've visited El Torito at least 50 to 75 times. I've visited this location at least 10 times... I miss the La Palma location btw. The staff was like family. I understand why they are struggling. Poor service, poor food quality and an unnecessarily long meal. Our dinner lasted a full hour longer than it needed too and most of that was just waiting. It's hard to like a place like this and with so many other options, there is little incentive to visit again. Good luck El Torito. read more

Our waiter Arturo was great and provided great service. The food was delicious! We would definitely return.

This place is no longer what it used to be; waiting times are unreasonably long when 3/4 of the restaurant is empty on Father's day and the hostess' excuse: we are short on waiters. I wonder whose fault is that. When the food finally came it was cold and very bland so we decided to pay and get out of there. I feel sorry for the few people that needs the job to pay their bills when their bosses, supervisors, and hostess bring this place out of business. We are never coming back. read more

My best friend and I stopped in at El Torito tonight for dinner. We were extra excited because our favorite salad (the Tableside Fajita Salad) was back on the menu! Daisy was the best server ever! She took great care of us today by being super attentive and amazing

Overall a really terrible experience. I totally understand places are understaffed right now but this was just awful. We waited an hour for a table for 6 after we were told 30 minutes. Once we were sat down a server walked by us 4 times and didn't take our drink order. 15 minutes go by so I has to go up to the hostess stand to let them know. The manager then came over and apologized and told us our server would be with us ASAP, 10 minutes later we get drink order taken. Once we FINALLY got our order taken, 30 minutes go by and everyone receives their food except for my dad, by the time he got it everyone else was done eating and his food was cold. Again, I get it places are understaffed, but this was just absolutely terrible. Won't be going back. Hey read more
