The food was wrong, no refills on drinks. It was a large party (8 people independently paying). I asked for my food 3 different times, it never came, but was on the bill. Went thru 3 different servers during yhe "experience." I told them I was not paying for the drink since I never received my food and it should be compensated. The server said "well you drank it". It was a Pepsi. Ultimately, I didn't pay for it. The server would rather argue with me about my drink than comp it. It was $1.25, but I didn't see a reason I should run my card for a drink that was never refilled. Asked for red sauce and got some weird gravy on the tamale and enchilada. I used to really like this place, but it's impossible to get it right anymore. read more

El Tequila - Chicken fajitas - Mexican Near Me - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

First time at El Tequila & only the 3rd time I've even eaten Mexican food since my move to Tulsa. I had heard good things so I gave it a shot. To start, the chips weren't made in house so not very good. I prefer my salsa to be thicker & have more spice so it wasn't great. The queso blanco had incredible flavor but so runny at first that it was almost inedible. The margarona was delicious, definitely recommend if you're gonna drink. The menu is very large & lots I wanted to try but I went with the enchiladas verde. They were decent, I got 1 chicken, 1 ground beef, 1 shredded beef. The meat was pretty dry & the meat to breading ratio was poor. The verde sauce was tasty but not enough on the enchiladas. Overall pretty good experience & better than expected. read more

If you would like to have your car broken into with a inside operation and the staff and manager not giving no care to your car being broken into in the front of the entrance then dine here. I suggest you not go here because the whole staff has 0 customer service experience and does not care what happens on their premises and hides evidence to catch people they give free food to break into your car. read more

Oh my goodness, the food in this venue was amazingly delicious. It's was so close to our hotel came to Oklahoma to play a soccer game. Reviewed October 18, 2017 Health Score 35 out of 100. A reflection of poor management! They have a long history of poor performance in health inspections. We enjoyed the food and service, but won't be back until the restaurant cleans up! Good food, good service We have eaten here several times since we moved to Broken Arrow. We have never been disappointed with the food or service. Had lunch there today. I had the carne asada with a chili toreado. Wife had the El Tequila Bowl. Both very good. The restaurant serves plenty of chips and if you ask they have two versions of very hot sauce (it is great). A good place to eat lunch. Even when the parking lot is full they can get you served quickly. Today, I noticed they are doing some needed painting and improvements to the interior. The wait staff here always looks professional, and are very attentive to the customers. Note: This review was originally posted on Tripadvisor by Spike S. read more

I ordered the 5 enchiladas tonight. It was a huge plate of food. It was very good and I could only eat about half of it. The salsa, queso and chips were also really good. This is my favorite Mexican place in a Broken Arrow. read more

I don't think customers should have to pay for items they didn't order nor should it come out of the servers pocket. The manager said he can't do anything about it and our server would have to pay for the alcohol and extra food on our tab. read more

This place was pretty good. I got a chili Verde chili and my wife got the queso chimi. Both were good as was the chips and salsa.

Always one of my favorite places. We moved several years ago so I haven't been here in ages. It was still delicious.

Great service, atmosphere, and food. New queso flameado appetizer was enough for a meal. Chicken flautas and frijoles hit the spot. This is my place to eat when I'm visiting Tulsa. read more

Travelled from NJ to meet family in OK. Came to El Tequila's recommended by relatives. It started great with the bean and cheese with tortilla chips, delish. Then the carne asada and other entrees came through and we're delicious. Horchata and drinks are spot on and traditional. We haven't been able to top the quality and traditional food. The host and waiter attention was also amazing. Completely recommend and we will be back when we're in the area. We need one of these in NJ! read more

Probably the best chicken enchiladas on this planet. I love 'em! The chicken is mighty tasty and I get then with cheese sauce. They put a nice layer on unlike other Mexican restaurants which smother their items in cheese. The beans and rice are also very good and so is their guacamole!! Great service, authentic yummo Mexican food, and nice prices. read more

Were seated quickly and given chips and salsa in a jar - cute! Got drinks quickly. Ordered fajitas. The queso is really runny but it's delicious. It's really good mixed with the spicy salsa. Instead of cheese, they include guacamole. I missed the cheese but I like guacamole. If I had known I would get no cheese, I would have asked for a side. I have to say after eating at El Chico yesterday that I preferred El Chico's. The service was slow because we were in the back if the restaurant I guess. Out of sight, out of service. Not bad service. Just not great n Bottom line. The food is good but I will return to El Chico's first. read more

I came here from Florida and I must say it was great Mexican food. The food came out quickly. I had three enchiladas and had enough for a second meal. The salsa was spicy and had a nice bite to it. I love to mix it in the rice. I had a margerita which was nice and tart. I highly recommend this place. read more

My husband and my favorite place for Mexican. Great margs. Wait staff is awesome. Steak tacos the best.

This is by far my favorite place. Its close between here and Senor Tequila, but I'll take this one by a worm. Service is always a plus here. Very fast, efficient, and courteous. I just noticed today though, that it is all male...something you don't really see often. We started out with chips and salsa..the way it should be. Fresh hot chips, not store bought. Salsa that has a kick, not like the watered down you find in most other places. For the entree I had the burrito verde. A steak stuffed ( and I mean stuffed) burrito with guacamole, lettuce, and the green tomato sauce with rice on the side. Excellent! They never short the meal. My wife had the enchiladas locas. Awesome as well, though we couldn't figure out why they were "locas"... I love this place and am sold to go anytime. Best I have found in Tulsa. read more

Nastiest mexican food I've had in Oklahoma so far, and thats saying something. Yuck never again.

My husband and I came to this location during dinner one Friday evening and had a great experience. As busy as it was we were seated very promptly with smiling, cheerful faces. I ordered a grande top shelf margarita and it was the best margarita I have had in a long time! The bowl of white quaso for our appetizer was great as well. For my entrée I got the create your own combo with one crunchy taco and one chile relleno with rice and beans. Their food was full of flavor and tasted very fresh. From the hostess to our waiter, we have great, efficient service. read more

Really good food and fast. This place was really good. I had a chicken and a shredded beef Chimichanga (insert Deadpool quote here) The shredded beef was roast like and had good flavor plus they were both lightly covered in White queso cheese deliciousness. The crunchy taco was ok not much to say it was just a typical beef taco but the other stuff was really good. I plan on returning for a encore performance very soon read more

I stumbled upon El T when I couldn't get into one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants...we had a delicious meal of street tacos and chicken fajitas...the street tacos were present wrapped individually in two corn tortillas and then wrapped in foil. Accompanying the tacos were individual dishes of cilantro, picante, salsa and onions. the steak was so tender and moist. The fajitas were equally excellent and had almost a teriyaki flavor. Wait staff were attentive, friendly and unobtrusive! Can't wait to go back! A++ read more

My go to in the Tulsa/broken arrow area for Mexican food. Way better than Los Cabo's if you ask me. My bf always gets the fajita nachos, literally for years now. I tend to try different dishes from the menu but my favorite is the tequila steak entree. It's about 13 dollars and a plate fully loaded. Their portions are always big here and I always leave with a Togo box. read more

The BA location has the best margherita in the state! Their food is awesome as well but a little pricey.

I am not sure why it took me almost 2 years to try this place. FINALLY, a pretty good Mexican restaurant. Being from AZ, it has been hard to stomach most of what many Tulsans consider "good" Mexican. This place has the main staples - homemade tortillas, homemade chips, and homemade salsa. And all very good. We ordered the queso for an appetizer, the carnitas tacos for me, and my husband went for the shredded beef chimichanga. The carnitas tacos were spot on - would not change a thing!! My husband enjoyed his shredded beef chimichanga, but his one complaint was that it seemed fairly heavy on the cilantro. Now that I have myself salivating again, I think I know what we are having for dinner tonight! read more

El Tequila - Mexican Near Me - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

I moved here from Southern California about a year ago so i know what good Mexican food tastes like and let me tell you, it is hard to find good authentic Mexican food in the Tulsa area. Of course taste is very subjective but i know what i like. Almost all the Mexican Restaurants around here serve Tex-Mex style food and/or cater to the local gringos of which i am now a proud member of. There is a difference between Baja California style and Tex-Mex style. Mostly in their sauces and style of beans. The problem with the local Mexican restaurants here is that they all want to serve big crunchy "Taco Bell" style taco shells, Enchiladas with no cheese inside but Queso sauce on top? and NO shredded beef? I even found a place in downtown Tulsa that offers Enchilada Gravy on their Enchiladas. Huh? Most places have Carne Asada which is Skirt or Flank steak that is marinated and not shredded. It comes in steak or fajita form. Shredded beef comes from beef roasts and usually you season it yourself with Salsa or whatever you want. Since most places offer choices when it comes to enchilada sauces and taco types (hard or soft), no one offers shredded beef in their Burritos, Enchiladas or Tacos. Im not sure why shredded beef is so hard to find in the Tulsa area but when i came upon El Tequila on Elm Place in Broken Arrow, I instantly liked it a lot. Yes, i said like bwcause Its not perfect. They still offer non-enchilada sauces and "Taco Bell" style shells but they do have shredded beef so im a happy guy. This place has become my new favorite Mexican Restaurant (until i find a better one). I just hope that it stays open because the owner, who owns 3 other restaurants, is in a pickle with the Oklahoma Labor Board and may have to close his stores. (According to Tulsa World) And that would be a bummer. Either way i will continue my search for that perfect Mexican Restaurant in the Tulsa area. But just like winning the Lottery, it may take a while. read more

This place has done a great job of redecorating but everything else has down hill! Customer service is nonexistant. The waitress got my order wrong because she couldnt understand english enough to get it right. I was charged for items I got but didnt order & sent back. Was charged dinner price for lunch. When I tried to explain to Mgr she argued with me and refused to correct bill! Manager woman was RUDE! Will NEVER go back! read more
