Santa Fe (with tortillas on the side)
    Tracy S.

The ambience is really nice. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated. The service was ok, I should have asked for more water. The enchiladas verdes was very boring. The chicken was tough and I had to use the knife to cut it into bites. There was a very thin layer of cheese on the tortillas but couldn't really taste it. The green sauce was nice and tart, but it wasn't any better than I can get from a bottle at the grocery store. If the chicken had been tender and tasty, that would have made a huge difference. If there had been cheese I could taste would have made it better too. I just got the wrong thing. The beans and rice were... beans and rice. My mom got the Santa Fe. She loved it. My friend got the steak fajita nachos and she loved hers as well. I just chose poorly.

    El Tequila Steak

I've eaten at the Tulsa location a ton of times and one of my go to meals has always been the el tequila steak. Out of all the times I've had it this was probably the best time so highly recommend! Everything on my plate was delicious! The service isn't my favorite at this location. I usually get a Michelada and I've never not had them give me the rest of the beer on the side. I guess they use smaller beers here so they don't bring you the remainder of the beer and they actually charged us extra to have more beer. I usually like my miche more mix heavy than beer and I had to request more beer because it just tasted like mix only. Overall the food is good and affordable!

Based on the service I received, the taste of the food, portion and unique preparation of the meal, I am giving them 5 stars. Everything was delicious and as it should be. Their fajitas came out sizzling, included pork, steak, chicken, shrimp and had chorizo throughout it. Definitely a good twist on fajitas that allowed them to stand out from the others. I recommend this location.

    Chimi''s, rice & beans

With so many options of Mexican restaurants, this is definitely a MUST try! My favorite restaurant! The service was great and the ambiance is casual. The chips and salsa was good and I recommend the queso! I had the chimi's and although they looked like enchiladas & not the typical burrito style, they were VERY good we will definitely be back!

They have a pick 3 on their lunch menu. I got a chili relleno with sauce on the side, guacamole, and refries. Dan got the chili relleno, Charo beans, and a tamale. They got our order wrong but they fixed it, quickly. They brought huge platefuls of rice and beans. Because of the order mix up, we ended up with 2 huge plates of rice and we didn't eat any it. The salsa is good. It has some heat, but not too much. The chips are thick and crisp. They don't have draft beer. We thought the bottles were overpriced so we just drank water. As for the decor, the colors were mostly tan or beige. It was ok, but didn't create any kind of ambiance. It was ok.

Been eating here for years, this has become the baseline Mexican restaurant (Tex mex) standard. If it is not as good as el tequila as far as food, service and ambiance then it's not good enough to go back. My family always enjoys eating here, my absolute favorite have always been the grilled fish tacos with a flour tortilla. Not always in the mood for them but they are good. I have a theory they use tilapia.

    My soggy tostada

The food was ok. They service was better. I ordered a chili rellano, cheese enchilada, and a tostado. I told them I wanted my tostada on a separate plate because it gets soggy and I like to pick mine up and eat it. So they took my plate away and slid the already soggy tostada on top if another plate so I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. The cheese enchilada cheese was very firm, not melted at all and I didnt care for the chili rellano sauce.

The salsa, food, service was great! Ordered the Santa Fe dinner portion, (I substituted chicken for the shrimp) and chicken chimichangas.

Good Food, great service. Had fajita nachos. Fajita meat had no fat and tender. Everything was great! Glad we stopped in!

The food is always good and hot. The service sometimes is hit or miss depending on the waitress or waiter and the ambiance is always busy.

Since this was our first visit here, we had to order our comparison dishes. Those are guacamole, birria tacos and street tacos. When we received the chips and salsa, I noticed the salsa lacked some cilantro, but had a unique flavor, different from our other favorite Mexican food establishments. My wife was really fond of it, but said it was ok. I really liked it, even if it lacked cilantro. The guacamole came out and it looked like my guac that make at home. It was very good, didn't need any additional salt and was not overpowering in lime. I'd give it 10/10. My wife ordered the chicken street tacos. She said they were the best out of all the places we go. The chicken was flavorful and the tortillas didn't fall apart. It came with a tomatillo crema that was infused with jalapeños and was too spicy for her. I got the Birria tacos and they were especially good with the crema. The birria consumé was excellent. The rice was fluffy and tender and the refried beans were on point. They serve Coke products which includes Coke Zero and they were quick with the refills. We will definitely put this place as #2 on our list of go-to Mexican cuisine establishments. They are located in the Rose District, so the prices will be slightly higher, but it's still worth the visit.

There's a parking lot in this plaza, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. They offered complementary chips and dips (salsa and queso). We ordered additional guac. They were generous with the birria and the consome is chefs kiss!!! The staff did a wonderful job in assuring our needs were met and that we were satisfied. Really good and would order again. Rice and beans were probably above average. My dining partner asked how the chile relleno was prepared. (He doesn't like the eggy batter.) We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. We arrived around 6:45pm for the 7pm bingo, only to find out it wasn't being held on the patio as advertised. That was fine--it was hot out anyway. We were shown to a small indoor section and luckily grabbed the last high-top table. Service was very slow. We waited a while before anyone came by, and it took 40 minutes to get my margarita. Our food actually came out before our drinks. I ordered a skinny margarita but got something syrupy and full of sweet & sour mix instead. Tried to switch to wine, but surprise--they don't serve wine. At a full bar. Odd. The food was just okay at best. * "Cilantro lime" rice had corn and no trace of cilantro or lime. Not good. * Black beans with pico--bland. * Cheese enchilada--fine, but forgettable. * Queso tasted like El Chico (nostalgic, but not in a good way). * Salsa had zero spice. Our server was rarely around, and when we were ready to pay, we actually had to get up and ask the manager at the host stand to bring us our check. Not a great ending to the meal. Bingo was... fine. It moved fast but had long breaks in between rounds. We played five games and didn't win. Prizes were $10 gift cards--not bad, but not enough to bring us back.
