I LOVE el taquito urbano! I miss the live DJ and music on Fridays at the round rock location (during COVID got shut down) But this location is so cute. Indoors and outdoors and Togo orders too! Love it here! Definitely our favorite place for my husband and I to have date night. Love having girl's night here too. The tacos and food are amazing. Great flavors on the chilaquiles. I added nopales and no meat. Also tried the menudo and barbacoa taco. Very good texture and flavor on the taco. It wasn't too greasy and was tender. Drinks were also good. Tried the pepino margarita (skinny) and the cenote. Good fresh flavors. We had the Originales tacos, which were melt in your mouth good. Corn tortillas, beef fajita, avocado slice, quest fresco and onions. The kids had quesadillas with rice and beans. The rice wasn't good, but the refried beans were so, so delicious! Oh, and the margaritas! On the rocks with a black salted rim... it goes down so easily. I don't typically ever leave bad reviews because I know the impact they can have on a business. But with this location I truly felt the need too because the management will be its biggest downfall. I came into El Taquito with my friend and 3 toddlers. I grazed the menu and came upon "taquitos" which I figured would be perfect for the boys to handle on their own so I could eat my food as well! When our server came back we were handed tacos.... NOT taquitos, which I figured he had misunderstood me but after speaking with the very rude manager there are no "Taquitos" there's are the Tacos........ The manager (not wearing a name tag) was super unprofessional, very rude and didn't seem to care about making it right at all. They charge for additional chips without mentioning that it costs, the food is bland and just over all not worth it. I will not be back to this location and I hope they find better management that can come in and really spice this place up, it does have potential. read more

Love this place. Taquitos are excellent, chilli con queso and drinks are great. Always had great service here and been going here since it opened. Pancakes are also good, my kids love them! Breakfast tacos, too!! The atmosphere is laid back and peaceful and nice for a drink with sports playing on every screen. read more

The service here was absolutely TERRIBLE today. So much to deserve a 1 star review and ruin any previous experience. We waited 40min for 2 orders of street taquitos. Simple order, no alterations. I 100% blame the server a man that didn't even give us his name. He brings us the tacos without ever checking in to tell us the food was almost ready. When the food arrives it's cold. Tortillas are stale because they have been sitting out waiting for the server to grab and bring to us. When I tell him that the food is cold he says it's not and they probably didn't heat up the tortillas enough. I explain to him in English and Spanish and Spanglish that I've touched the meat and it's NOT the tortilla. It wasn't even lukewarm!! After he attempted to argue and I told him to grab the tacos bc at this point I'm not going to eat them I asked him to take them back and bring the check for the 2 drinks we had. Our favorite Pflugerville hangout. Everything from the food, to the drinks, to the service is fantastic! We love coming out for mango margaritas and appetizers and just hanging out at the bar with our favorite bartender, Christian! Everyone is like family! The queso is always a winner, so are the mini tacos, the mini tostadas, the enchiladas, the menudo. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything in the menu. You are going to read a lot of 4-5 star reviews about this place, I want to leave a review that hits on a different point of view and keeps it real. If you are the type of person that wants to get To-Go food and take it home for your family, don't expect much from this place. They treat you as if your money or business with them doesn't matter. I just spent $23+tax for a "nacho with meat" and a mango/lime margarita To-Go. I asked if I could get some chips & salsa with my order a few mins before it came out, and they said that I needed to run my card for another $4 for a small bag of chips and salsa to go. WHAT? They said that the chips & salsa were only for dine-in. I was like, so I spent $23+tax, and ai can't even get any salsa & chips? "No, you can't, that's policy." Fine... whatever then. Then I get home, open up these nachos that were approx $12, and there is a circle of like 12 chips, with a little bit of chicken on each chip, and a little bit of cheese, with a small scoop of refried beans in the middle. WHAT? I didn't know I was ordering an "appetizer nacho with meat"... I asked the guy for a large nachos with fajita chicken, and he said "Yes." Nah man, I get 12 small chips with hardly any toppings, instead of an actual mound of nachos like I would have expected for $12+tax. With a small box of sour cream, guac. And... zero salsa, not even a tiny little ramekin of salsa to go. So yeah... does El Taquito get a lot of "great" reviews, but apparently you only get great experience if you eat there. They were better and cared more about their customers (dine in and carryout) when they were in the smaller location at Rowe Lane next to the Chevron. There is absolutely no excuse for having a short staffed team when only 4 tables are in the entire restaurant and with 5-6 waiter/waitresses and 4 chefs in the kitchen on a Sunday early morning. I ordered my food exactly when they opened their store and I even added 10 mins extra before I headed my way to pick up my online orders since they have the tendency of not taking care online orders on FIFO regardless if the restaurant it's busy or not. No doubt, my ticket was the first in line but they haven't even started my order 10 mins after the estimated pick up time. Why offer online order when there is obsolete no guarantee of your food will be ready at the estimated time offered? This happened the last couple times when I placed the online order with this location. Enough is enough. Super poor mgmt.! PS: Restaurant opens at 9am on Sunday. We ordered an All American breakfast and the pancakes were tiny and so thin you could literally see through them, bacon was burnt and in small pieces. After reading Yelp reviews, it appeared, for the most part, people were split with their comments or feedback. 1-2 stars and 4-5 stars. With that, I'm always intrigued. So, the researcher in me decides to go with the food items the 4-5 star folks reported. We went with the queso and 6 different tacos to sample. The chips were fantastic, slightly unique texture and curious how they are fried, etc. the queso was ON point! The salsa isn't your traditional cilantro/onion mix. It's more of a chipotle vibe and we LOVED it. The tacos: ok... I mean, come on! The tortillas, both corn and flour, were fresh and yummy!! The contents, whether that was pork, chicken and beef (we got a sampling) were ALL tasty. We did this sampling because "if" we liked the food, we wanted to know what order next time. Honestly, we loved them all... my fav was the Christian and the street tacos. Will we we back??? Ummmm yes!!! For sure. My husband and I finally tried this restaurant out and overall, we had a good experience. I personally think the menu is a bit overpriced for what is offered, but they somewhat make up for it with friendly staff and quick service. The music was quite loud and it was pretty cold inside, but the manager was walking around asking everyone if it was too loud and cold for them, and made adjustments accordingly which I thought was nice. For a lower prices, we will probably go to a different Mexican restaurant in the area, but we're glad we tried this one finally! read more

This is a review for the tacos, the famosos busted. They were superb, and I highly recommend the small taco plate (6 tacos for about 10 dollars). The meat is seasoned and cut well. The cilantro and onion and quest fresco is fresh. We waited 45 minutes for 6 tacos from their menu in house... it was a long wait and the service was great, but long wait. With pandemic shortage woes I understand. We got to go and the experience was much better and I think it was because we called a head. Do check your food when you pick up, both times we did pick up there was either something we didnt order or something missing. Like I said shortage of staff and goods makes this normal now, so we have to do our part. Frozen margs were good. chips and salsas in house were good, you have to pay extra for to go, but they are quality chips so I think worth it. He ordered our drinks, then ordered our food, and finally gave us the bill. He probably walked by 20 times during our meal and didn't check in on us once. When she walked by our table and asked that, all of our drinks were empty, the chips/salsa were empty, and she didn't mention if we needed refills which tells me she wasn't actually paying attention to us and just "going through the motions". Looking for that hole in the wall taco place? ...well, that's what this is with a Chic Modern Look, with dia de Los Muertas, Frida Kahlo, and Selena playing in the background....but lets taco bout the food. On this culinary mission we fed our belly's with bottomless chips, warmed prior to bringing to the table, and fresh salsa. Sorry tostada purists, these chips come from a bag, but they are the perfect hardness to stand up to the queso without breaking and crumble when you take that first bite! Pro tip: ask for the variety of Salas's they have...it's like having a flight of regional salsa that takes you across many savoring flavors. The queso is served BIG, no tiny bowls here. You'll need more chips. With fresh avocado on top it's a great appetizer that will make you fight for more room in your belly when the food comes out. Next out were the mini street tacos de carnitas...they must have a street cart in the kitchen because these were awesome! Six corn tortillas topped with skillet fried roasted pork that had crunchy fat, juicy meat and topped with fresh cilantro and onion. Save your flight of salsa for these. Perfect ratio of meet to tortillas (yes falling out the side and dripping down your chin). And adding fuel to the fire foe the piled high nachos vs single layer nachos...these single layer contenders had plenty of cheese, beef fajita meet and a heaping dollop of sour cream and guacamole. I'm leaving a review because it was my first time & everyone I know avoids this place and now I understand why. My little one spilled salt inside my hibiscus water as soon as the waitress brought it out, I asked for a new one and I got it but they also charged me for both waters. I noticed on the ticket the charge and my waitress just said "yup" lol Bottom line, food was ok (definitely tasteless like all the other reviews mentioned), service was Eh but that extra $4 charge will forsure be my reason to never come back read more

Update: shame on you, shame on you and shame on you for asking a waiter to give a tip back to a customer. Came again with my crew to have lunch and as always since we were dressed in our construction clothes, we were treated below average. Which is fine but when I paid, I was not informed that the gratuity is included so we tipped in cash as we always do. Looking at the receipt the next day I saw the gratuity of %20. Went back to the restaurant and the manager said that she will ask the server to give me back the cash we left him. Shame on an establishment that will ask that of their employees. Original: "I only have 1 server today" is what we were told as soon as we walked in. Although the place was basically empty we waited about 10 minutes to be seated and that's only because we took the initiative and told one person that we found a table that will sit the 6 of us. We waited another 15 minutes until we waved for the bar tender who came and asked us what we needed and all we wanted is for someone to take our order. A gentleman came and took our order but he looked very confused and rude. He actually said "i'm not being rude, but i can't focus on all of you". What tops it all is the two girls (one in black shirt and one in grey shirt) that were just wondering around up and down doing absolutely nothing. I learned to never go grocery shopping hungry a long time ago. Luckily El Taquito was on the way to H-E-B. This was our first time in their "new" location and we were immediately glad we stopped. This isn't a renovated building turned restaurant. The decor is uniquely Frida Kahlo, Dia de los Muertos and Contemporary. They will be finishing the outside bar seating area soon. But I digress. Since this was a late lunch we didn't want to spoil dinner so tacos seemed appropriate. Well so much for that plan. These tacos are huge. Barbacoa, Fajita, Bean and Cheese. Oh my! Had tacos in my mind but did not feel like driving too far so decided to give this local place a try. We were greeted right away by the nicest hostess who took us to our table and brought us chips and salsa. The chips are not homemade and the salsa was nothing special but we were starving so it really hit the spot. We sat there for a while waiting for someone to take our drink order to the point we were getting desperate. Eventually our server came over and he was nice but probably a bit overwhelmed by the amount of tables he was tending to. We ordered the queso fundido and the bistec and carnitas street taquitos. We also ordered a second basket of chips and salsa (the first one is free, but any additional ones are $1.50). The taquitos had good flavor but the carnitas ones were extremely dry. They would have benefited from some sauce which we were never offered but noticed every other table had both a red and a green sauce. We asked our server for some and he brought them at the very end of our meal. I think that if you come here with low expectations, you'll enjoy your meal and come back. First time visiting this place, heard good reviews. All I have to say is, if you are on the frontage road on your way to this place, keep driving. You will be disappointed in every category from this place, price, food, and wait on time. Just small tacos, that tasted below average at best 1 -side of beans (was liquidy, watery) 1 -side of rice (was crunchy, like given the bottom of the pot portion) 1 -lemonade regular (the most expensive item on the receipt $4 dollars!) and it wasn't that great. 1 -fountain drink (come on $2.65 for a fountain drink) Total = $22.79 We ordered drive through, paid and waited in parking spot #1 and we waited. For 21 minutes before getting out of my car to go inside and see what the problem was? My food was in the bag on their counter and showed them my receipt.
