Friendly service, delicious fresh food. Pretty damn good. Seems pretty authentic to me, but not as good as the food truck. El Taco Naco has a much more diverse menu, though. Some of the items on the menu include tamales, tacos, tortas, fruits on a stick (mango, pineapple, etc), and others. You can choose the type of meat (carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, etc). And yes, they also have the native agua drinks, like horchata, tamarind, coco, and mango. We ordered the torta and tacos last week. The meat was tender and marinated well and bursting with flavor. I ordered a tamarind agua to go with my torta. It was smooth and refreshing. It cost $5 for 3 tamales, and each torta cost $4 each. You can find this little food stand near stall D2 at the Beach Blvd Flea Market on Saturdays and Sundays.

Recently tried out this food truck at an event and unfortunately, I think we ordered the wrong things. We ordered a steak burrito and chicken nachos, both were eight dollars. Neither item tasted very good, the cheese sauce on the nachos seemed like it came out of a can. I read the other reviews after we had already finished eating and wish we tried something else since so many others have had great experiences.

This is literally the most authentic Mexican food in Jacksonville Florida hands down!!!!!!!! If you don't believe me come put your taste buds to the test Honestly, I can't even type the rest of this review because I have to get back to eating it's that important Nom nom nom nom nom

Chicken and steak tacos, chicken was good, steak marginal

I had remarkable Mexican food at a nearby food truck the night before I tried Taco Naco and I have been to Mexico several times so the bar was already set high. Simply put, the food didn't live up to expectations. I had the chicken and steak tacos. The chicken tacos were good but the steak tacos were marginal at best. The steak itself was dry and had an unusual taste to it. I had to add an excessive amount of mild sauce to the steak to make it edible. The atmosphere was not evaluated since the eatery is within the confines of a flea market (just do not take your first date here) and the service was better than expected. In sum, there are several places in the area I prefer over this one for tacos.

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.

The 30% off code - LOVETACOS - is good on the entire menu on Taco Tuesdays. The deal & code are advertised on a window poster you'll notice as you walk up in addition to another poster advertising a great lunch deal available. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th).

This owner also is partners with Gastro Pub in Ponte Vedra Beach and they also keep the tips and the employees dont see one cent. I believe it is illegal for the owners to keep the tips and im going to see how to stop the.. I am also NEVER going to their restaurants again. How greedy can you be. First off we ordered steak burritos- paid extra... the meat was literally STEW meat- not steak! It was so disgusting. Secondly, the ground beef tacos tasted good until you realized how crusty the meat was- as if it had been sitting ALL DAY in a bin! And lastly the nachos were exactly the same crusty old chicken meat!! We ordered pretty much every meat there and all was DISGUSTING and we had to throw out because meat sitting around all day can't be healthy! My recommendation is to NOT come here for the food!

I ordered the Wet California burrito with steak, and it was mostly rice and beans with very little steak. The "wet" was just queso poured over the top and onto the plate. Some bites tasted decent, others were inconsistent. The steak that was there was okay. The margarita was also a letdown -- more sour than expected and likely house tequila, with very little ice. Chips were unsalted (which I didn't mind), and the salsa had a bit of a pinch to it. Unfortunately, I woke up the next morning with a bad stomach ache and didn't feel great while eating the food. I probably should have said something to management at the time. Our waitress was friendly, but couldn't really elaborate when we asked about the menu. Overall, I'm paying for great food and service -- not just "okay." I don't see myself returning.
