This is the kind of place to get real, authentic, like your mom would have made, or you were in Mexico type of Mexican food. The tacos are delicious and are as close to being in Mexico type of tacos you will get. The menudo is wonderful and the broth is flavorful. All of the salsas are on point and I adore the pickled potato/cauliflower/jalapeños they offer. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating, but they serve the food hot and fast and everyone is nice. Don't skip on the aguas frescas either! The piña is wonderful! I love El Taco Llama whenever we are in downtown Newhall. Their burritos are the bomb. I haven't ordered anything else off the menu but it all looks delicious. My hubby and I can split a steak burrito and we are both comfortable afterwards. I recommend, give them a try! read more

I've had a great experience every time I've come here whenever I'm in Fillmore. It's my Pop's favorite Mexican place! Food is pretty authentic and consistent. Price isn't cheap but it's not outrageous either. I mean it is what it is nowadays. You know they do have overhead to pay unlike all the little pop-up places that are sprouting up all over . Kind of not fair. . Customer service has always been above average. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. We have found that it's easier to go in and order than to try to call in and order. Do these look like fish tacos? Ordered 3 fish tacos and it looked like they just ripped apart fish sticks and dumped the pieces over 3 tortillas then topped this with some veggies, disappointed in this place, although it had 4 stars, it's not 4 star food or 4 star service, hopefully they improve, the young lady working there needs to improve customer service skills, and the cook possibly needs some training on how to prepare gush tacos and tortas-my daughter's torta was a mess read more

We asked for a refund only to be denied. The cashier had bad hygiene cleaner her nose with her hand then swiping it all over her face. Great Mexican spot right off the main highway 126 in Fillmore. I called my order ahead and got there quick and it was ready for me. I tried the chicken taquitos dorados and they were fully loaded and delicious. I also had a carne asada burrito and added cheese and sour cream. Great sized burrito and tasted fresh and delicious. I tend to prefer refried beans in my burritos and they use whole pinto beans so be sure to ask if you want different. I will be coming back soon! The restaurant was very clean and organized inside. First time ordering here, my wife just loves Mexican food, I am more European style Mexican food person, means ground beef! However, I tried the carne asada hard shell taco and steak fries. The carne asada is tasty, I liked the taco a lot. The carne asada steak fries are a lot, big portion, a lot of meet and cheese. A little short on the guacamole I have to say and I would like a little pico with it to make it tastier. The burritos are on the large end and the regular tacos with chicken are good. The hot sauce is hot, for me, I need a tasty sauce without the burn, my wife can not eat spicy, that wasn't available. Stopped at this Mexican restaurant on my way to LA last Tuseday. Ordered the carne asada wet burrito. The burrito tasted authentic Mexican food flavor. The cook was great when describing the burrito contents and I asked to change some of the contents and he kindly did and he was very friendly. I truly enjoyed the burrito. I only have one comment to the cook, the asada meat was very tender, clean and had a great flavor but it was a little oily. When I'm craving really good tacos I differently come here! I drive 45 min. just to get a set of tacos. I've also had the torta and potato tacos; also good. Their beans and rice are delicious and it all taste home made. Cherry on top is that they have bottled soda. Great Taco place... but... I ordered the Chilaquiles and got dry chilaquiles. Looked like they just put the tortilla chips in a smidge of sauce on a pan and then put them on a plate.
