Ordered from El Taco Boom off the DoorDash app. After waiting an hour, I received a phone call from a DoorDash representative stating they have to cancel my order because El Taco Boom is refusing to make food for DoorDash customers. I called El Taco Boom and spoke to the manage, he said it's "bad for business" to go through DoorDash. I advised he needed to remove his business from DoorDash then so this doesn't happen again because it's unprofessional and infuriating. read more

Went here today and everyone is very close to one another. Not practicing social distancing. This is how they spread the corona virus. They just don't care. This is probably my fifth time coming here. Food is great. However, I ordered a Togo and ordered a steak burrito today and waited for awhile. It's understandable since it's packed like sardines in there. However, when I got home, they gave me a veggie burrito! NO MEAT AT ALL. Paid over 9 bucks and I gave 2 dollar tip and they pretty much told me to f-off!!! I should've just taken that 2 dollars back and shoved the burrito up her &$@&:....never coming back here again. First time visiting. Came across on Yelp and saw the restaurant received decent reviews. Plus, the 15% off coupon swayed me to give it a shot. When I first entered in I noticed that they had a good board yet, no prices listed. I ordered the 11. When I went to use the 15% off the gal at the counter said they could not honor the coupon. I debated on walking out. However, I gave it a shot anyway. Let's discuss the pros; 1. The excellent fresh salsa. 2. I enjoyed the fresh sliced jalapeños to the meat along with fresh sour cream. 3. Decent portion size. Cons; 1. Steak had a fair amount of gristle. 2. Hot sauce bar did not have carrots, peppers, or radishes. 3. Would not honor the coupon. 4.Horchata had a funny off flavor. Ok, have to get a few things out in the open: I'm a sucker for taco truck food and lengua (aka beef tongue). With that said, there is the El Taco Boom! El Taco Boom is a bit of a modest destination: it's located within a South Everett Strip Mall. It's a pretty nice establishment though (considering it's backwoods-red state location--seems like as soon as you go north of the King county border you're in a totally different mindset). Ok, enough of my ranting & raving. yeah, the thing to talk about here is the food. I'd call it Taco Truck fixin's in a nice sit down little restaurant. They have tons of menu items and for anything with meat, you have even more meat options to choose from. So, there are endless combinations. El Taco Boom in Everett has critical health code violations just this year and 9 since July 2012. After yelp was recently on the news about listing restaurants with health code violations, I decided to check this place. I really wanted a good Mexican place near my place but I may have to move back home for some good Mexican food. Honestly 1 or 2 violations is one thing but 9 since July 2012 is something else. I don't know how a place with 9 health code violations is even on here with a 3 something rating. El Taco Boom RECOMMENDED RESOLUTION: Create a written plan, label foods with the time they will be discarded, discard foods after being out of temperature control for more than 4 hours. CRITICAL Comply by : Jul 14, 2012 RECOMMENDED RESOLUTION: Acquire a digital thermometer. Acquire an appropriate thermometer for your establishment. Then months later in 2013 another violation for improper cooling methods used. Then in September 2013 they got another violation for the digital thermometer and told to get one. WOW. How hard can it be to buy a thermometer after being told twice in one year?Jeeez CRITICAL Comply by : Sep 20, 2013 RECOMMENDED RESOLUTION: Acquire a digital thermometer. We made an order from here through Ubereats and the food that came was a nightmare. The food came opened and half of my burrito was missing. It looks like they burnt the tortilla while heating it up and just decided since it was being delivered by Ubereats to leave it as is. I ordered the wet burrito and it was delivered dry with no sauce. We called to talk to them and they told us it wasn't their problem and to contact Ubereats. I agree the way the food was handled is an Ubereats issue but half my burrito missing is a restaurant issue. I will never go here again. read more

Went here for taco Tuesday. Taco meat was kind of gross. Sauces good but altogether nasty. Waitress kept taking way our food before we were done with it, and took my mother's plate which had an entire taco on it. We asked for our check and the waitress gave me a drink instead for some reason. It was a hassle to even pay for everything at the end. The rice and beans were equally as good and different from all the others. Their staff was friendly and came to our table frequently. The only complaint is they could replace the condiments on the table more frequently. I was really excited for this place! Could be the super convenient location or the yummy advertisement they have up around the building (which also houses a Starbucks and a bento time) but the place was a little unassuming and the service was difficult to understand in that I don't speak very much Spanish and she didn't speak very much English. I ended up ordering some fish tacos they were okay nothing special. The red sauce was really good it also came with another sauce that I think was just hot sauce and mayo. (I'll add a picture). This was the first good experience we had with Mexican Food in Washington. When we first got there the first thing that stood out besides the colorful walls was the wonderful smell of meats cooking. I have to admit I was very excited to try something new but at the same time I was afraid that it would be as bad as Taco Del mar. We approached the cashier and ordered the NY style, carnitas ,adobada, and Barbacoa taco's; After We ordered she told us to have a seat. A couple of minutes later she brought us Fresh chips and salsa. We both liked the salsa and chips but right when we were almost done devouring our basket she came to our table with our order which meant to drop everything and give our full attention to the tacos (Serious business). Our first reaction was "are these baby tacos?" they were very small. We added red and Verde sauce to them. After the first bite, actually while chewing our first bite we looked at each other and shook our heads while trying to say it was REALLY GOOD. (At least i know i tried) We both really liked the tacos and realized that by living in the east coast for so long we were missing the delicious Mexican food in the West coast. This place was a solid win of a find! It's clean and has a nice ambiance. The servers are friendly and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. They even had the good salsa on the salsa bar. We were so happy to find a good Taco Tuesday deal nearby and the rest of it was just a nice bonus. We had steak street tacos and marinaded pork tacos el pastor. The food was all fresh and tasty. The restaurant was full which I always take as a good indicator of consistent quality. They've been open at least five years so it looks like they've been doing it right for a while now. This place isn't your typical Azteca-style restaurant. That's good In my book. It's simple, fast, and hits the spot. Really good for when a Mexican food craving hits you before lunchtime. This is a solid taqueria. They use quality ingredients, the food taste great, and it is well priced. The staff is fast and friendly. The first time was a good experience, but the second was not. I came the second time on a date, and we took advantage of the $1.00 Taco Tuesdays deal. The tacos were good, but they could use more condiments than just meat and onions. The service though, was awful. We must have waited 20-30 minutes for our bill. This isn't a huge restaurant either. We were there before many customers, and they received better service than us. When my date went up to ask if he could pay the bill, they were rude to him. I don't plan on returning. read more
