Hole in the wall looking place - but has a nice patio which someone has put a little work in to make it look very colorful- Authentic Mexican food. No Norte Americano- First time here and my husband says the Chile rellano burrito is not bad. My potato tacos were pretty good too. I like my shells crispy and not over greasy so it was pretty nice. Gonna have to bring the fam and have them rate the place. So far - we may have found a new place- hard to find a good Mexican food place in the SGV. Not like the San Fernando valley. The food felt microwaved, some parts were piping hot and others were ice cold. My order was number 19 pork tamale with a hard shell taco with carnitas. The tamale was dry as a bone even covered in red sauce, felt like it was at least a day or two old. The taco was okay, took a bite of the taco and threw it out. My fiancé and I were just driving around trying to look for Mexican food and found this spot. My fiancé actually changed his mind last minute and decided to order their double cheeseburger deluxe meal (~$8-9) which comes with fries and a small drink. - he said cheeseburger was delicious and their serving of fries were really generous. We also got their asada burrito (~$7-9) which comes with rice, onions, cilantro and beans but I asked for beans on the side and they also give some chips on the side too. - the asada burrito was good - the meat a little dry but the size was pretty huge. We actually went on another day and ordered their super nachos (~$9-10). - it was delicious, came with guac, beans, asada and cheese (not the melted). They are CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM outside. Also, I like their red salsa, it's spicier and has a nice smokiness to it. read more

Definitely better than the El Monte location! Stopped by this like back in September. I was on my way to go visit one my customers in the San Fernando Valley. Well was hungry decided to try this place. I walk up to the counter ask the clerk if it was the same owners? He said yes. I was a tad bit hesitant but still decided to give them a chance since I guess it's the original establishment. Tried their machaca I would describe it three words "it was delicious". Also noticed on their outside menu they offer menudo on a daily bases (wasn't a fan of at the El Monte location). but this location is my least favorite part of Colorado Blvd! There was a crazy argument involving a couple arguing in the parking which the sheriffs came then left. then the couple go to the counter spoke to clerk as if nothing had happened (I'm guessing they know them) lol. But other than that maybe I'm in the area. I'll give them other for sure I will but be ready to bring cash or pay a convenience fee for the ATM. read more

Sure, they only accept cash as payment for their fine food, but I haven't seen any birds with credit cards recently, have you? And those portion sizes? They could definitely fill up the entire nest. Time is of the essence, lest a nestling chick becomes a fledgling bird, making El Super a prime choice for mama (or papa) bird because their turnaround time from order to ready is top notch. The bird can also sit on some neat artistic table tops and benches while waiting for the order to be complete. If it's hungry, it can even open up the meal and eat it on same said areas. But who are we kidding, perching birds  normally feed on seeds, insects, fruits and berries, so the parents will for sure sit, relax, and enjoy their delicious meal in peace. So glad I found this place! I'm gonna be honest, most Mexican food in Pasadena isn't that great, pretty basic. I usually stay away from it and wait to go to the valley. My dad and I found this spot after we went to the DMV. I had the chicken, asada, and fish tacos,they were great! They tasted fresh and flavorful. I love that they decorate the plate with chips and jalapeño slices on the sides. These people know how to do it! I'm also glad to know that they have 1$ tacos for Taco Tuesday.
