Every taco I had was full of flavor, meat marinated and seasoned perfectly, so good that we really didn't need to add any salsa or much at all. We ordered Asada steak, al pastor pork, Cameron shrimp, and lengua beef tongue tacos. I enjoy a quesadilla that holds together, and not flop over and all my fillings ends up on my plate. These were perfect just how I like em! Each plate came with salsa, lime, sliced cucumbers, and radish, beans and rice for an additional small fee. Quesadilla came with sour cream as well. Compared to the many other Mexican restaurants in the area, I recommend El Sombrero. They have drink specials and even without a drink special the draft beer pricing for a Mexican beer is very reasonable. I've been dozens of times and the service all depends on which waiter or waitress you get. Some are better than others. I've had one bad experience with service, and when I was asked when checking out how things were I replied so so. The manager happened to walk up behind me and insisted on paying for my meal. I refused time and time again, but he stated that they were at fault and my food was on the house. It's very seldom that you find service in management like this. The food is consistently good, and I recommend this for anyone in the Flowood area compared to any of the other Americanized Mexican restaurants. If you're looking for authentic Mexicana, this is not the place, but if you are looking for the typical Americanized Mexican, this is the place. I also think they have the best salsa and fresh made chips in town.
