Ooohwee! Probably my new favorite Mexican spot in Pearl! I ordered Menudo which is a spicy tripe soup, he got the steak fajita chimichanga with cheese sauce, we LOVE the more traditional cuts of meats like tripa, cachete, Suadero etc so we ordered 5 different tacos to share, and because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs we also got the Gordita asada. Tripe in the menudo was thick cut which I thoroughly enjoyed, it was extremely tender and they even had tendon which I haven't seen in many menudos here.. Flavor was very mild though, but the great thing is you can always add more to your menudo, I love a ton of hot salsa/hot sauce, lime, cilantro and onions in mine. The chimichanga had a ton of steak and cheese sauce, so if you love your meat and cheese they give you plenty. Tacos were fire! Those home made tortillas were to die for!! I'm a hot sauce salsa kinda gal and I didn't need any of it. The tacos were topped with cilantro, onions and grilled onions as well. ...Now the star of it all, yallllllll go get you some gorditas!! My goodness, MY GOODNESS those were the best gorditas I've had in a while. The masa was so delicious, hot off of the presser, he doesn't like gorditas but ate most of mine! I would come back here just for this, it was absolutely 10/10!! I bet their tamales are amazing foo, but those are seasonal so I'm getting me a dozen when they start offering it again. It was ground beef literally. Corn tortillas were homemade but spice level was off on everything but especially the chips. Some hideous dusting of body odor tasting spice. Do I need to go on? I've only eaten here once. It was served fresh and fast. However it was very bland. Attention all Mexican restaraunts, we the people are waiting for you to bring back the spices please. I know you think we are all rednecks with bland taste buds, but you see, the rest of us are suffering from lack of authentic Mexican spices in your food! SO PLEASE bring back the spice/heat! Half Mexican trinket store ; Half restaurant this place feels very authentic and has a very nice wait staff. Prices are reasonable and rather cheap during lunch (look at lunch menu picture) I got the beef chimachonga lunch special it was large portion for the money and VERY good for southern Mexican food. Do Not Waste Your Money! My family went here based on a few reviews from the Let's Talk Pearl facebook page. "So good", "Best salsa", "My favorite". What a crock! This is hands down the absolute worst tasting Mexican food I have ever had. The queso was watery, bland and cold. The beans were akin to slop... also lukewarm and bland. The enchiladas were like eating goey paper. Nothing had any taste at all. The service was extremely slow and pretty much non-communicative. I almost felt sorry for the waitresses because they looked terrified and unsure of what to do. I guess maybe they were ashamed that we actually had to pay good money for that awful, disgusting food. read more

I looked up the nearest Mexican restaurant and this location showed up. I read the reviews and thought this would be a good place to eat at. When I walked in, I was surprised to see that there were only a couple of customers in the restaurant during lunch hours. It looked strange but I didn't want to be judgmental. I figured that this would be some good authentic Mexican eating. However, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered fajitas nachos. It was very bland. There were only a few pieces of meat and peppers on the nachos, the cheese sauce was watered down and the sour cream tasted spoiled. I ordered my food to go and waited a long time for it to be cooked. This was a very disappointing experience. The reviews are misleading. I will not return to this location. read more

Very strange place. Half store and half restaurant. I had the fajita Quesada. It was very skimpy and the beans and rice were awful. I see why the reviews are years apart.
