This place very reasonably priced, the service is good, and the food is standard in and out lunch Mexican. Nothing really stands out but nothing is really lacking either. It's not traditional by any means but the more south Texas Mexican food. So pick what you normally like at other restaurants and you should get pretty much the same thing here. Queso tasted watered down, and had no differences in solidity regardless of temperature. The chips were almost bitter. Each container of salsa I our table got tasted drastically different, ranging from tasting of nothing, to being bitter, to tasting like a squished tomato. Yuck. My appetizer plate was covered in grease, and they used Colby jack cheese in the quesadillas. I could tell because it was entirely congealed by the time It got to us, and I could see the speckling of white and yellow. Waiter was ignoring us at times too. Avoid this place. Much better Mexican down the road at Papito's or El Potrillo. read more

This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had dining out! Not only was or server rude, as she typically is, the salsa guy had an accident and dropped a bottle of salsa. It exploded all over me from in my hair, eyes, clothes, shoes, etc. There was no apology or any attempt to make it right. I asked for a wet towel to get the lumps out of my hair. It ruined my clothes and my shoes. Our order was wrong on top of it all. I mentioned it and again nothing was done, except the bill dropped off at the table. Fernando's doesn't care about the dining experience. I WILL NOT be back! read more

The cheese dip was fantastic! Once our meals came out, the were coated in grease. We couldn't even ear this food. When we asked our waitress for help, she did nothing. We will not be back. read more

This restaurant is highly over priced! We asked 3 times for a children's menu and they didn't give us one until AFTER we ordered. Our waitress didn't know the menu, had to keep asking the other lady what things were and how much they were, if they did this or that. The food wasn't even that well. Also saw our glasses empty and waited to ask if we needed refills till we got our food. For 3 people, it was 70$. which in my opinion is so over priced, we've went to a many Mexican restaurants and for 3 people it would be at most 50$. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the Jackson metro area! I love the pitchers they serve their drinks in. The fajita tacos are my favorite with the fresh vegetables and side of queso. I'll use any excuse to go to Fernando's but will also drive from Gluckstadt just to eat there. read more

My favorite Mexican Restaurant in the area. Food is great, inexpensive and Service is Fantastic. As soon as you sit down you can expect Fresh Chips and Salsa on the table and someone taking your Drink order. I particularly like their Ice Tea which is served in mini pitchers. Last weekend we went for take out at Fernando's to eat at the lakeside park. My wife got the burger and fries which was great. The beef patty was thick and well done. It was not over seasoned and retained that great beef favor. The condiments of tomatoes, onions and lettuce were fresh. The fries were seasoned well. It sort of tasted like curly fries from Jack in the Box. For a Mexican restaurant, the burger was surprising good. My steak fajita burrito on the other hand was not on par. It was advertised with vegetables but it did not come with any :/ Also the beans and rice were not in the burrito but rather on the side. I wish it was all inside, so I could hold it. We got huge side of chips and salsa. The salsa was filled into a small drink cup. This I was so so pleased. The reason why it got only 3 stars, our togo food did not come with napkins or a fork so I had to eat the wet burrito with my hand... So I wish the service was better. Good all-around Mexican spot. The chips and salsa are thin crispy hot and fresh, and the salsa is flavorful with a healthy dose of cilantro. I tend to get the chili Relleno dinner because it's my favorite. It comes with generous portions including two Chilis. My wife gets the soft taco dinner and she seems to come back to it almost every time. Service is fast efficient and friendly. This is pretty much our go-to place when we want Mexican. read more

Had dinner there tonight. Service was bad. Had to get up and ask for refills and chips. Food was brought out quickly but did not seem fresh. Rice was tasteless. Beans thick and gloppy. I don't eat meat so that was my meal. Hard to mess up rice and beans, but unfortunately, they did. Won't be going back. read more

I ordered take yesterday and got home with food and they did not give me all the food I ordered and they food they did give me was stone COLD! And barley and food also. I had to call them back ad go up there again and get my correct order, which was also Stone COLD! I usually order take out there every weekend and the food is not enough for what you pay for but yesterday was TERRIBLE! They did NOT even apologize to me. I will NEVER go there again!! read more

Everything was disappointing. It all had an almost sour taste to it. Even the salsa tasted off. I'm writing this review very shortly after giving up on my food, and I now honestly fear that I may be on course to finding out what that sour taste could lead to. As much as I love Mexican food, the only option for this restaurant's food is the trash. read more

I dunno why there are people giving this hole a rating above 1*. The service is routinely unfriendly, the food is terrible (tortillas shouldn't be made of the same stuff baklava is) and atmosphere is more like a small mom and pop restaurant in that middle of nowhere town your grandparents live in. read more

I didn't have a problem with the quality of my food. My co-worker and I ordered food by phone. She asked to separate the bill; however, when I arrived at the restaurant they'd but our two orders together. The manager's daughter, as she later identified herself, asked if the orders were together. I told her no separate the orders. The orders came with chips and salsa. When I got back to our workplace I learned the preparer placed one large bag of chips without any salsa. My co-worker called and explained to the manager's daughter we didn't have salsa and one bag of chips. Upon my return to the restaurant, I was given one small salsa for our large bag of chips. I tried to explain to her that because our orders of chips were placed together I'd like another salsa. She said it comes with a small salsa. I said but we are sharing so I'd like another. She became upset and began serving others that came in the restaurant. She then went back in the back and brought a large salsa. When I began to walk out she started talking about me to another worker. I approached her again and told her she was wrong because the preparer should not have placed out chips together and I tried to explain that to her. She yelled it's just "Salsa"! Well, at that point I asked for a manager. She said she was it. I told her I knew she wasn't and asked to talk to him. She said he my dad isn't here and I can't give out his number. She was very rude! I will not return as much as I love the chips and salsa. read more
