My family is new to the area. We just moved here from the West Coast. As a Mexican, born & raised…read morein LA, I know authentic Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the mixed fajitas order, 2 sopes and our kids had chicken enchiladas. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The staff were friendly and our drinks and food came out promptly. I would highly recommend!!

Ooohwee! Probably my new favorite Mexican spot in Pearl! I ordered Menudo which is a spicy tripe…read moresoup, he got the steak fajita chimichanga with cheese sauce, we LOVE the more traditional cuts of meats like tripa, cachete, Suadero etc so we ordered 5 different tacos to share, and because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs we also got the Gordita asada. Tripe in the menudo was thick cut which I thoroughly enjoyed, it was extremely tender and they even had tendon which I haven't seen in many menudos here.. Flavor was very mild though, but the great thing is you can always add more to your menudo, I love a ton of hot salsa/hot sauce, lime, cilantro and onions in mine. The chimichanga had a ton of steak and cheese sauce, so if you love your meat and cheese they give you plenty. Tacos were fire! Those home made tortillas were to die for!! I'm a hot sauce salsa kinda gal and I didn't need any of it. The tacos were topped with cilantro, onions and grilled onions as well. ...Now the star of it all, yallllllll go get you some gorditas!! My goodness, MY GOODNESS those were the best gorditas I've had in a while. The masa was so delicious, hot off of the presser, he doesn't like gorditas but ate most of mine! I would come back here just for this, it was absolutely 10/10!! I bet their tamales are amazing foo, but those are seasonal so I'm getting me a dozen when they start offering it again. Included a menu for yall.

Yeah, no. The menus smelled like straight vomit, like they were wiped off with a rancid, sour rag,…read moremaybe? Wretched. I had the fish tacos and it was just fish on a flat tortilla. No lettuce, cheese, cabbage, sauce, or anything else that would make it a taco. But I did get 3 small cups of mystery liquid that I assume was to dip or pour over? No idea. I tasted one and it was extremely spicy and did not have a good flavor. My husband got a P5 Happy Plate and it had an odd taste. We should have left after the smelly menus. We told the girl at the checkout about how they smelled and she just looked at us. No response.

El Cabriro is located in a rather nondescript strip mall and being in the cack of that strip mall,…read more you would never notice this particular Mexican restaurant dribbling by the highway. If you do muss out on this place, it is your loss. Thanks to Yelp and the overall positive reviews, I was seeking out El Cabrito and I still drove by it, lol. Oh well, not a big deal and in no time, I was parked in their parking lot and walking in. I was seated and the overall ambiance was what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy, but that's okay. For me, I have always found the best Mexican food in these mom-and-pop, more humble type places. My server was friendly and I opted to go with one of the burritos. I believe that they called it their grande steak burrito. I enjoyed my burrito and for ten dollars, it was competitively priced. I would definitely recommend El Cabrito.
