I ordered the 2 taco plate with rice and beans and added a tamale. When I went in to pick up my order, 2 women were decorating a Christmas tree. The one that I assumed was a server saw me and didn't say a word. She continued helping the woman who apparently was the hostess. After about 2 or 3 min..she finally climbed off the ladder and offered assistance. My order came out around this time. My drive to the hotel was literally 90 seconds so why was some of my food cold??? Rice and beans had good flavor but cold. The tacos were soggy...the freaking worst! The tamale was tasty. Monday night the place was hopping! Traveling through Pearl, this place looked interesting and we were glad we stopped in. Mary was our waitress and did a great job with our service. Although we shared a single serve fajita platter, it was more than we could eat! Chicken and beef combo, the usual beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream and pico, super cheese sauce, we were happy with it all. Families, couples, a big birthday party - everyone seemed happy! I said I was hungry and I just want A LOT of food Since we were in Pearl, we stopped at the first place we saw that would be opened until at least 10pm. We ordered Queso Fundido with Steak, Molcajete, and steak torta. Queso fondido with Steak had a ton of steak and came with tortillas and chips, yall for $9.99 that's a steal! I've learned of this dish several months ago called a P5? It's like cheesy queso and meat over rice, this was very comparable to that, but with tortillas which I much rather prefer. We also got the Molcajete which means hot stone pot. It's filled with Steak, chicken, shrimp, with cheese and various veggies. It was my first time having cactus and it was delish! Great!! Don't let Yelp's almost irresponsibly subjective standard fool you. You come here for family-style Mexican food and to pay no more than $15 a plate. This place delivered every reasonable expectation. I did this thing traditional and a la carte. The standard Hard Beef Taco was EXACTLY as I expected. A heavy portion of fine Hamburger meat, lightly seasoned, with those glorious and semi-melted crumples of white Mexican cheese. The carne street taco was EVEN better than the traditional. Comes warm wrapped in foil and the meat stains that flour tortilla with deep red stripes. The Chorizo street taco was EVEN STILL better than the carne. It is sausage with a Mexican twist (could be eaten alone and without tortilla). Tacos, rice and beans. There ya go. Simple but is only offered a la carte. Do it. Pro tip. Eat the tacos OVER the beans and rice. Let the drippings fall in all their glory. Stir the remainder and eat with a spoon. Post script: I take issue with the negative reviewers below mine and address each below. Common thread: these negative reviewers talk about EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOOD QUALITY. "Jaime G." describes french fries. What rational being orders french fries at a Mexican restaurant? Probably a person who orders steak at a fish camp. "Karmeen P." complained of roaches in a restaurant. Gross granted but you are living in a fantasy if you don't know that not only roaches but mice crawl all over any restaurant you ever eaten at (or place lived in). See or unseen makes no difference. "Kayla G." in one breath admitted how stong the drinks are so what garauntees do we have as to her review's accuracy or as to her ability to soberly percieve her experience? "NA." fails to comment on taste whatsoever and rather opts to string together a series of things (e.g. the waiter) that have nothing to do with taste. read more

Service was poor, but our order came in a timely manner. We were checked on just once, as he brought the check. The food was not all that great. ROACHES WILL CRAWL ON YOUR TABLE - BEWARE I do not understand how a restaurant can have roaches in a new building but here we are. As my fiancée and I were dining I noticed a roach crawling from the ceiling. I was in the middle of drinking a margarita so we scooted to the edge, ready to leave as soon as I finished. I like that it was right off the freeway and they made three entrees within 10-15 minutes. The food was really good and I appreciate the cheese they used but it just needed some extra seasoning. So let me start by saying our server was wonderful and he did all he could to assist. The margaritas were also the bomb, no complaints! I ordered the fiesta fajitas they were fine as well and apparently my husband loved his enchiladas... they were gone before I could get a good pic of them ‍ . That said everything else left a lot to be desired. Starting with the chips and salsa. The chips were fine but the salsa was not good... it was more like tomato sauce with a few pieces of cilantro and onions in it. My daughter (9) ordered the kids pizza... it was not fully cooked. Soft doughy crust and half melted cheese... so she sent it back and got the chicken tenders. Unfortunately they weren't much better and they didn't even have bbq sauce or honey mustard for her to dip in. We also ordered guacamole but that was clearly store bought no recognizable vegetables or avocados in sight. Finally my MIL ordered the taco salad with shredded chicken... she said there was grease or something puddled at the bottom of the shell bowl. Needless to say, she didn't eat it. Let's start with the beginning: I was sat at a dirty table with food and the check still on it from the previous diners. And the hostess had an attitude when I told him the table was dirty. Food was okay. The torta al pastor was huge but has very little meat. Felt like I was eating a bread and lettuce sandwich and every now and then got a taste of the chicken. As someone who's traveled extensively, I have a very broad and malleable palate. I can understand poor service and dull food... I am a non confrontational person. I do my best to go into every new restaurant with an open mind. Walking in we were greeted and seated relatively quickly. Our drink orders were prompt. Everything after that went quickly downhill... like a hot and spicy dumpster fire. We asked for our kids to order virgin drinks and we're promptly told that there is no such thing as virgin beverages other than soda. Ok, no problem, we can adjust and move on. (Granted as a former bartender I will tell you that's an absolute lie but it wasn't worth arguing). Further, I will say this bar is in complete violation of the ABC guidelines as they mix their tequila and triple sec into the old margarita mix bottles and serve directly from those bottles. The adults ordered margaritas and the kids had soda. The margaritas were mediocre, at best, but completely tolerable. (Don't worry reviewer further down the line... I'm neither hammered nor compromised in this review as I didn't even come close to finishing my beverage). After receiving and trying the chips and salsa we declined to order any further. At this point two of the adults in our party ordered a tequila shot to add to their margarita... unfortunately when my shot arrived the glass had a sticky white substance on the side cleverly hidden under the lime wedge. Sadly, I didn't notice until after adding the tequila to my margarita... hence the decision to not finish my beverage. At this point we requested to speak to the manager. When the gentleman came to where we were sitting we began to address the above issues with him, politely and professionally. See... my best friend, husband, and I own and run our own food business, we are very understanding. While speaking to said manager he became loud, hostile, and very defensive... even after caveating our conversation with the fact none of us were seeking a discount OR for anything to be removed from our bill. At this juncture the manager stated the sticky white substance was salt from the shot... there's no way possible as salt dissolves in liquid not turns into a milky white fluid. We abandoned the conversation due to the dismissive attitude of the manager as he walked off while being directly spoken to, but it is what it is. We decided to request our check and leave. But not before hearing the manager's derogatory comments, all spoken in Spanish. Here's the thing... I'm a Latina, granted my paler complexion makes that hard to guess off the bat, but I've grown up in a Spanish speaking home and understood every single word that man said. I would never EVER step foot in this establishment again, even if you paid me, due to these derogatory remarks. Now for Prince Charming and his judgmental comments below.... Gary J., you sir are a pompous, narcissistic, self righteous pendejo. This is not enchiladas. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas. It was literally 3 over cooked nasty shrimp in a tortilla covered with queso. No sauce, no toppings, no nothing. When I tried to send it back and order something else I was told by the manager that I wasn't allowed because I had taken a bite. How else was I suppose to know it was nasty?! The salsa tastes lifeless like straight out of the can with no cilantro onions or peppers in it. Carne asada tacos came cold and on flour tortillas, I assumed corn, no biggie but they came back meat cold and with very little cilantro and onions. I come back shortly and now my drink and my last taco I had wrapped in foil has been taken away!! I love some good Ameri-mexican food, really I do. It is usually fairly tasty, inexpensive and quick. I have been to Los Parrilleros in Pearl many times over the past year or so, and I go there because it's close to my work. I usually get the Ground Beef and Cheese Nachos. EVERY single time I have ordered them at this restaurant, the plate comes out hot as the sun, but the food is NOT HOT. I have sent it back on a few occasions, and mentioned it to the manager several times, and yet each time I go, same story with the cold food. I can't understand it. Yesterday, I decided to order something different, and got the Beef Burrito with cheese sauce, and two tacos. SAME THING!!! The beef inside was as cold as if it had just come out of a refrigerator! I sent it back to be heated, and ate it anyway, because now I'm needing to finish lunch and go back to work. The waiter came to see how everything was, and I just told him it was TERRIBLE. He sent the manager over, and once again, explained how this recurring problem of bringing cold food to a table is completely unacceptable, and how he really needs to address this with the kitchen staff. I have worked in restaurants before and you don't bring cold food to a table if it's supposed to be hot. I intended to pay, since I ate most of the food, but he tore up my ticket.
