Cazadores is a decent enough Mexican restaurant in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The staff is friendly enough and the ambiance and vibe is friendly enough. I went with a burrito and overall, it was a good enough choice. I travel a lot for work and have found that Mexican food is the most consistently good food in my travels. Once upon a time, before the internet and Yelp, a lot of restaurant choices were to just get off the highway and look for a place. It really was the luck of the draw. Maybe look for the parking lot with the most cars. I just found back then that Mexican was the best bet. Now, of course, we have Yelp, but I still find myself seeking out Mexican food. I was hesitant to book her bc the 3.5 rating for husband 48th bday. We use to go here in years past and LOVE the Mocajete. I had a table of 11. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We were seated at a very busy time on Tuesday night at 7. Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was top tier on top of drink refills. The Mocajete was GREAT per usual. All plates came out at the same time which is very impressive and important to me personally dining culture as so many restaurants break this rule. So my question is for the ones that rated poorly??? Horrible service! I had never been here before and was trying to get some guidance on what's good or popular. I asked the waiter, and he flat out told me he doesn't eat here. Confused, I went to the front to ask the same question, and she said the same thing--she doesn't eat here either. I figured maybe the manager could help, but he refused to offer any suggestions as well. This experience was incredibly frustrating. If none of the staff can recommend anything, how is a new customer supposed to feel welcome or confident in ordering? The customer service and management here are completely lacking. It's never a good sign when the salsa tastes like watery ketchup. Service was fine. Food was edible. No heat, even when I asked for hot sauce (because there was none on the tables). They brought a bowl of something from the kitchen that had no heat whatsoever. We're travelling so I just gave up. Not worth finishing. There was some salt, but not even any black pepper. Their Chorizio cheese dip flavor and consistency was good but very salty tasting. Chips were stale and greasy. I wanted beef fajitas, the waiter recommended the cavadores fajitas. It turned out to be be beef, chicken, and chorizio. It was very salty as well and a bland flavor. Someone told me their salsa was the best In The area. Not to me tomato pasty and ketchup consistency. This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at. We had 11 people in our group and everyone loved their food. I had the Chicken Verde Enchiladas and they were incredible. Service was absolutely awful. We had a group of 8. Initially, the manager shooed our group to our table despite the fact that we did not know which table we were supposed to be sitting at. Our waiter gave bad service. We were here celebrating birthdays. He automatically assumed we were lying about the birthdays even though we had no reason to lie. Finally, we paid and some minutes later the manager came to us, tapped his watch, and told us we needed to leave because he needed a large table. There were many other groups who had been there even longer than we were still sitting. We spoke to the manager as we were exiting and told him he did not have to treat us so rudely and it all felt racially motivated as we were the only minority group in the establishment. At first, their chili rellenos were top notch, sadly, they have now, seemingly, just plastered a piece of white bread on each side of that relleno pepper and deep fried it with perhaps too much cheese in the middle. Went back once again, still amazing as always. Our waiter was very nice, and made sure we had refills on chips and salsa, as well as drinks. We were eating lunch a little late (2:00) and it was still pretty busy. I got a beef taco with a hard shell, and it was delicious! The shell was perfectly crunchy, the meat was seasoned very well. We decided to try Cazadores on a recommendation from a friend. We got there a few minutes before 2 and I was worried that we may miss out on any lunch specials. Good news is that they serve lunch until 2:30. They had a nice menu with a wide variety of options. It was very cheap and inexpensive as well. We were brought chips and salsa immediately upon being seated. I got the enchiladas tapatias. I really enjoyed it and was so much food. It was four cheese enchiladas with grilled chicken on top followed by a layer of cheese and lettuce. I was stuffed after eating. After having tried several Mexican restaurants in the Jackson/Brandon/Ridgeland area when visiting, I would have to say that it is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area that I have tried thus far. read more

Cazadore's menu had one price, but my ticket had another price. I asked the server about it and all he would say is that was the price in the system. He checked the menu and saw that it had a different price. He said to tell them upfront. I told the cashier about it and she said the same thing about it being the price in the system. She was rude about it. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she did not know who the manager was. When I asked her again, she stated that the manager was busy. Again, refusing to get the manager. I could see the manager and he was not busy. I walked over to him and asked if I could talk to him. He said the same thing and that it was not his fault that the menu had a different price than what rings up in the system. He said I was looking at the lunch menu, but I wasn't. I showed him where I saw the item. Then he said it was a misprint. He also rambled on about the cost of everything going up so the price has to go up. He said I would have to pay what the system said not what was printed on the menu. I suggested that he updates the menu. Horrible customer service!! Ordered a mango margarita and they brought a lime margarita (which was straight juice) and when I told the waiter he said it was out order and still had to pay for it. Brought it the owner attention and he said oh well still have to pay for it... I don't mind paying for something if it's corrected but not correcting and walking off is extremely horrible service. My family of four adults and two babies went to this location on Friday, July 19th, place was packed, food was good. We all had to go containers, headed to the front to pay for our dinner(which was $90+), while waiting for our other family members, my sister asked me to ask one of the people at the check out for a bag so we can combine our to go containers. When I asked him, he went off, initiall, I didn't understand what he was saying but my sister did. He practically berated my daughter and I because we asked for a bag to put our also $100 dinner in. the whole incident was uncalled for, he was rude and very disrespectful. Once my son in law came up front, he heard how the man, who I now know is the owner, was speaking to us. The owner threatened to call the police but we didn't care cause we did nothing wrong but asked for a plastic bag to put our containers in. We will never eat at this place again. The best Mexican restaurant in Jackson MS area, if you judge solely by food and service. Cazadores is not much to look at, after all, it is in the corner unit of a strip mall. But the food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. I would prefer it remain our little secret, as it is already too busy on weekend nights. However, it is the least I can do to tell the truth about a truly great food restaurant that I know and love. It is always worth the wait. But you can always call ahead to order takeout! For the last few years, this has been my go to restaurant for Mexican cuisine. However, while the food is normally tasty and seasoned properly, the past few visits have been lackluster. But more than the food, the service has been simply awful. During my latest visit, I was disappointed beyond belief. I was set to meet some girlfriends and they told me that they'd been seated at a table in an inconvenient location. They asked the server if they could move to an adjacent booth and the server told them that the front greeter would have to make that decision. I was walking in as this was being said, and I requested the booth seating (as plenty of booths were available). The man told me "no" in an abrupt and rude tone. He continued to say that we just have to sit where we are and fanned me away. I was floored. We decided to move ourselves and was served by a great young server (I wish I could remember his name!) While eating, I observed the greeter (who I assumed to be the owner because he is always there when I visit) be excessively nice to certain people. And there was a couple that was sat in the inconvenient location who asked for another seat, and he obliged this without a second thought. Three stars is generous for the past experiences....especially the very last one. However, it clearly takes into account the years that I chose this restaurant without hesitation as my first choice Mexican restaurant...and the quality service that was provided certain staff. read more

I used to like this place. It used to be good. But now it's just not worth it. The prices have gone up, but the food quality has gone down. Now for what happened on todays trip. First, there was hair in my chips and the queso we ordered was cold. The waiter was quite rude. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. And I specifically asked for just chicken and cheese. When it came out it had all of the veggies I could think of on it. I requested that he take it back since I'm allergic to some of the things on it. The Waiter said no because that's what I asked for.
