Stopped through during a work trip. I had a sort of fajita dish with chicken, bacon, cheese, and I think steak served with rice. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this was served sizzling hot and was delicious! Service was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for anything at all. Sub mexican food. Half hearted try at making real mexican food. Ordered a dish that stated tomatillo sauce and recieved a red chipotle tasting sayce and was assured it was made with tomatillo. I did not enjoy it so i had it remade and they instead covered it with liquid cheese so two fails in one sitting. The horchata was also not good. The burrito i ordered also didnt taste very good. I did try a bite and the steak was seasoned poorly. Not underseasoned. Just seasoned poorly like the chef doesnt know what theyre doing. What a pleasant surprise! Really quick and friendly service on a Saturday! This place was a lucky of the draw on yelp for us. We enjoyed all of our favorite dishes as a family of four. We went to this restaurant because of it being highly reviewed. But we weren't too impressed. The service was good, the place was nice. However their food was alright. I order a Fajita Chimichanga. I didn't read the description because I thought the title spoke for itself. But there is literally no difference in a regular chimichanga and a fajita one except price. I thought it would come with onions and peppers, but it doesn't. And the chimichanga was not cooked well. Not crispy at all, soggy. We also ordered a cheese dip and it was way too thin. read more

Being that we are from Tucson, Arizona we did not have high hopes for Mexican food in Mississippi. My wife had the carne asada, and I had the queso Birria tacos. They were different than Sonoran food that we are used to but still very delicious. The service was very good. The staff is still learning English but they try very hard. Give them time, and they will be very fluent. The restaurant was very clean, and plenty of parking. We will be back again and again. read more

HOLY GIGANTIC FOOD PORTIONS, BATMAN! The food was good. Not great, but good enough to make us happy. The portions stuffed us to the point where I had to undo my belt a notch. They don't have mole, which causes me to weep tears of sadness for my tastebuds, but their enchilada sauce was good enough. The chile rellenos were FRIGGIN' HUGE! I don't know where they got those poblanos. I expect they have a bean-stalk out back that they climb every day to pick the peppers of the giants. There was nothing that was especially spicy, but I suspect that if you asked them to heat it up they would. Service was prompt and friendly. Since I left Ohio and headed for Texas I've been wanting Mexican food that reminds me of home. No Tex-Mex. When I walked in and saw the red sauce and white cheese and sizzling fajitas I knew this would be the spot. My boyfriend and I shared a parillada- a word I have not seen since I left home. It was so good. Cheese sauce- amazing. Rice and beans, spot on. Took more chips and salsa to go. Fast and friendly service. Quaint little spot. El Ranchito is a local hidden gem. The portions are huge, the prices are surprisingly cheap, the quality of food is great (especially for the area of the country it's in) and the staff is always friendly. I am snooty regarding seafood not eaten near a coastline because it's not fresh, however, about a year ago I was craving shrimp on one of the many occasions visiting El Ranchito, and I haven't gone back to anything since. I order shrimp every single time - it's reliably delicious, whether it's in a taco, enchilada, quesadilla or prepared any other way! Everything else on the menu is delicious also, including my other go-to: the steak tacos. Also, the salsa is my favorite part of the meal. Great authentic food. We are traveling through, but if we lived near by, we would be regulars.

Tasted like a fast food version of Mexican food. The chips and rice were good. The kids liked the cheese quesadilla. I did not like the cheese enchilada at all. The cheese was a little cold in the middle and the sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce. My husband had the fiesta chicken burrito and asked for no onions. It came out loaded with onions anyway. This was delivered so fast so they pre-makje all their food. He sent it back to get it with no onions and this tasted more fresh and we could tell it was made just then. read more
