Food is decent but not "knock your socks off" good. My main hold up is.. $18 for a skinny margarita?!?! There's a reason their drink menu doesn't have prices! read more

Walked in on a Thursday-not super busy-was able to be seated pretty quickly. However, in my opinion-the building is not well kept and it seemed as if the staff was more concerned about watching the security cameras rather than tending to guests. I also feel that they are wayyy over priced compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I won't be back. read more

Got seated pretty quickly but then it took over 25 minutes just to get our drink order taken then after the drinks arrived it took another 30 minutes just to get our food order placed. Once the food arrived we told them to go ahead and print our tickets out since it was taking forever for everything else, took another 30 minutes to get our tickets. Food wise, 3 of us were already getting nauseous. If you want good Mexican food go to Plato Feliz down the road. read more

Service was good and very helpful but stretched thin. So many tables in so little space. Kitchen took 50 minutes to get our 3 meals out. It was warm coming out but the spice/seasoning was lacking. Affordable but not somewhere we will likely come back to since it was very loud and the food wasn't memorable. 3 stars for effort/service. Service was a 4. Affordability was a 4. Taste was a 1. Portion size was a 2. read more

The food was most exquisite and delightful! I ordered the tacos and they were so good that it tickled my tongue! The kind young man who served me was very kind and polite! The ambiance of this restaurant was quite exquisite. I sat outside and there nice lights and a pretty fountain. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anybody who loves Mexican foods!!! read more

Not only did we wait for twenty minutes to be seen but once we were it took close to a hour to get our food. Then when we got the food it was nasty. The meat in my taco was watery and grimy and the chicken in one of my friends plate was burnt. Do not recommend eating here. read more

Eat at your own risk. Service and ambiance were fine, but the food is not! I got severe food poisoning from this restaurant.

We went to Papito's for a going away dinner. Party of 6 and we asked to be sat on the patio. We sat on the upper patio and they put two round tables together for us. I didn't like this configuration but it was the only way we could sit outside without a long wait. Our server was the sweetest but not the fastest. Well I don't know if it was him or the bar but it took a while to get our margaritas. He got one of our orders wrong but promptly fixed the error. When it was time for the check, we had waited over 15 minutes and decided to just go check out ourselves. Then we had to wait for them to find him so they could split the ticket. I'm giving grace though because I know restaurants are having a hard time with staffing, and he was super nice. I usually order the same thing when I go to any Mexican restaurant....fish tacos. This trip, I went out on a limb and ordered the shrimp fajitas chimichanga, and it paid off! My chimichanga was delicious and full of shrimp that were seasoned and grilled perfectly. It had more bell peppers than I would have liked since I love onions. Would have preferred more onions but it was still good. The rice was very good too. It wasn't mushy but seasoned and tasted fresh. Despite service being a little shaky, I enjoyed eating there. read more

As they brought us the chips and the server put the chips on the table a roach came out the chips basket. I informed the server about the roach and he was more concerned on taking my drink order. It's my first time here and won't ever be back. I didn't even eat, lost my appetite read more

Tody was not a good experience food wise. Service was okay. I don't know what happened but something has changed. I dont know how they are in the final round for margarita champions. Tonight their margaritas werent even close to being good. Frozen papasito or top shelf on the rocks, the papasito dip with cheese abd beef was very runny and not their usual taste. The spices were there but missing something. The fajittas pineapple for two - first time we tried this. For the proce and what we recived was very disappointing let alone tgectaste. We were able to put together enough meet with pineapplecfor three pieces not the six you paid for. There was lpts of onions but no beef. The steak quesadilla was the same in the amount of meat. This is lne of the items we order ecerytime. We usually get the handmade quac bit the avacados were not in good qulaoty so they couldnt prepare that. I am thankful. The rreslecge wasjist plain. Unrotunatley we were disappointed. read more

We ventured out this evening on the recommendation of someone we know well. Their enthusiasm for Papito's was not misplaced. It is gorgeously appointed and we were sat swiftly. We did not wait long to be served. My wife ordered a shrimp dish that featured a fantastic garlic oil, and all of the shrimp were quickly eaten. Our adult son tried the tacos birria and he was very happy with that choice. I had the ranchadilla, which is skirt steak over cheese enchiladas served with rice and veggies. I asked for the steak medium rare, and I was not disappointed. We were full and happy. I sincerely hope you come to Papito's and see for yourself. Bob appetite! read more

The ambience and service were excellent. The meat in our tacos were very dry. Definitely over priced meal and margaritas weren't homemade but rather a sugary premix. read more

Had a birthday lunch at Papitos in Flowood this past Friday. It has seem to go downhill...they no longer serve ceviche too. The service overall was decent -- he forgot a few items. The food..not so much. The Pico de Gallo was old..you can tell by the cilantro was dark and mushy and then the tomatoes were sour. My friend/coworker had the Shrimp Bruschetta Tacos. It was missing the Avocado and Pico which we had to request. Even after that, it was really bleh. However, this smokey residual spicy salsa that accompanied it was delightful! I had the Carne Asada and the steak was sort of overly salted. Also had an A la Carte chicken taco that was bland--That smokey salsa tasted great with it. But really I wasn't impressed with our entire meal experience. I don't think I'll be dining here ever again. read more

if i could go here every day of my life i would. there is nothing i love more than sitting at a mexican restaurant with chips and salsa in front of me. all of my worries melt away. the salsa is perfect to the point i have ordered tubs to eat throughout the week. there is somehow never a wait. each time i get queso and birria tacos. i could eat the for breakfast lunch and dinner. there is honestly nothing better. even my sister who isn't a big fan of mexican food loves it here. i eat at this place so often my friends have held an intervention yet i went there last week. i think about this restaurant right now. i feel as if i at one with the workers and like we are family. i am there almost as much as they are. there is nowhere else i want to be. if papitos has a million fans im one of them. if papitos has one fan its me. if papitos has no fans im dead. respectfully, eat here. read more

Stellar service and great food! Can't believe the 1-star reviews here. The waiter (Armando) was outstanding. He anticipated all of our wants & needs. 5+ stars! read more

The food was great. The service was even better. The atmosphere was unmatchable. We even brought home lunch for the next day.

My wife and her daughter ate here this evening. I do not suggest anyone to go here it was the place to eat not even a year ago. That was a different story today my wife ate half of her enchilada and noticed the chicken was raw. My step daughters steak had the most repulsive taste and seemed to be old. I've read some reviews and people have complained of food poisoning. Save yourself and just go on down to the OG El Som . Added note. My wife complained of her bad tasting entree along with my step daughter and they would only credit her for half of 1 entree and acted like they didn't believe that the food tasted bad. My step daughter got I'll later that evening. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

way too expensive! 3 tacos was $35! i wish i was lying but this is a total scam. that price made me want to wash dishes in the back

The restaurant was really cool. When we walked in we were greeted and then we were seated. We both requested a booth as we both love booth tables. Our waiter was nice though he seemed a little off; when we both ordered margaritas it took our waiter 10 mins to come back to tell us that they were out of blue and mango margaritas so then we ordered strawberry and peach instead. Our waiter also did buy my babe's Chicago bulls hat and he was happy about it. Our food did come fast, and it tasted really good. I am not sure how it arrived at our table so fast, but it did. The price for two combos were very affordable and for the amount of food you get. Our margaritas were tasty and didn't contain a lot of heavy alcohol. We will be back and we do recommend this place! read more

Food- no bueno. Service- sub par- would rather spend my money and appetite elsewhere.

Great food! Great service! We know the manager personally and he is wonderful.... The Mexican Flag Margarita is the bomb!!!

Ordered in. Fish ceviche, and shrimp soup. It came with tortillas, salsa, rice, and rice. Togo. There was a ton of fish in the ceviche. Wasn't huge on the shrimp soup, but everything was very well packed and a ton of food. read more

This place was definitely a casual scene! They have vintage looking chairs and is overall a relaxed setting. The chips and salsa came out fast and they had drinks for happy hour! The margaritas were also good and came out fast. I had the fajita taco salad and it was relatively good. The lettuce to meat combo could've been a little better in adding to the flavor but overall the meal was GREAT. Service was great. Food was great. read more

If I could give a zero star, it would be more appropriate. The worst service, downright rude, slovenly. These servers don't even want to look up on the chance that you might need service. I really enjoy this place. I've brought the family here several times and have work lunches here occasionally. The wait staff , while not overly friendly, are mad efficient. They always seem to know what I want before I ask for it. If they didn't, how do they get a Chimichanga to my table in under 5 minutes?! Mexican food magic! The salsa is a little on the runny side with no real big chunks of 'mater but there is plenty of cilantro. That always makes things better. Side Ramble: When I was younger I remember chimichangas being these massive fried burritos with cheese, guac, and sour cream piled high like a huge two masted ship floating in a sea of beans off the coast of a little rice mountain. Lately though most Mexican joints serve flauta sized chimis. Little canoe on an ocean of bland beans next to a desert of dry rice. /Side Ramble The chimichangas here are a very nice size. Long story, short point. The restaurant is nice and clean. Well, actually it's dark so it might be dirty as hell. I prefer blissful ignorance on this point. I did notice the last time I was there my coworker got fajitas and his tortillas were definitely not fresh out of that cool tortilla making machine they have. Hence the 4 and not 5 star. Normally one minor would not incur a whole star deduction but it's Mexican. Tortillas. You gotta do that right. read more

Store manager is absolutely terrible. It says when we walk in that margs are 2 for 1 and then she charges us full price for each one. I talked to her about the issue and she basically ignored me saying her business is more of a priority to her. I hope y'all stay away from this place so you can avoid unnecessary fees. On the other hand our server was amazing and I feel so terrible that she has to work for this awful manager. Anyways have a nice day y'all. read more

Unfortunately, our lunch started off on the wrong foot at the Flowood, MS, location when a young man greeted us without a welcome to Papitos or a simple smile. We ordered two margaritas which the waitress said were $1.99. Wow, what a deal! We'll take two, we said, thinking it was a Sunday special. A while later, the unfriendly manager came to our table to let us know the waitress was new and the price was incorrect. Ok, fine. She's new. So we reordered. The misunderstanding went downhill from there. My husband ordered a burrito/enchilada with a sour cream sauce. Once again, after a long wait, it came out with a really awful-tasting red sauce. No, my husband politely told the timid waitress, I asked for a sour cream sauce. Another long wait followed before she brought his plate out with a large clump of sour cream piled on top. Seriously? Now our patience is wearing thin. She told us they only had a queso cheese sauce. Fine, we said. After waiting, and waiting once again, the manager came to our table and wasn't happy about us turning the order away not once, but twice. She proceeded to tell us if we wanted the queso sauce, we'd have to pay an additional $2.99. What? We're exchanging one sauce for another. Why the extra charge? Besides, it wasn't our fault the waitress and the cook didn't know what a sour cream sauce was. My argument fell on deaf ears so my husband canceled his order. To top everything off, we were charged a dinner price for my meal when it should have been the lunch price. A professional manager would have done the right thing by apologizing for her waitress/cook's ignorance and/or lack of training and waved the additional charge to make their customer happy. But instead, she arrogantly stood her ground. On our way out, I approached the manager and asked for her last name, but she refused. No surprise there. read more

This is my second time eating at this restaurant, and both times was disappointed. My wife ordered the steak fajita taco salad and I had the Baja fish tacos. The steak was over seasoned or seasoned in such a way that it tasted funky. The tacos were underwhelming, having hardly any fish; most definitely not worth the $14 price tag. I should have prefaced that our food also took a considerable amount of time getting out of the kitchen. Overall, this place serves sub par Mexican food (even for Mississippi standards) and overcharges for what you get. Needless to say, I will not be bringing this establishment any future business. read more
