My company enjoyed their lunch very much, however I ordered the deluxe taco salad. It had a tiny bit of unseasoned chicken and what seemed like a head of shredded lettuce. I added salsa to ot so it wasn't like eating plain lettuce. They definitely sanitize with bleach. Everything had a strong bleach smell md even our soda tasted like it had bleach in it. I would not recommend this restaurant for their food or beverage but our waitress was the sweetest. read more

Nice little place. I had the beef and chicken fajitas and a margarita. The fajita stuff was tasty, if not a little dry. Unfortunately the periphery additions like the rice, beans, and tortillas came in pretty small proportions. Not really anything to write home about but if you're craving some Mexican diner food, it'll scratch the itch. Would probably be a 3.5/5 if half stars were allowed. I live very close by, and would go there occasionally if this place were at least average, but sadly it is not. One time there was more than enough. The food is *really* bad, as is the service. Good mexican. I like this place. It has affordable food, a good view, and very helpful staff. The portion size is good for most people, but I prefer very generous portions, and they fall slightly short. I've been there many times and always enjoy it, but rarely take leftovers. I waffled around between three and four stars, but stuck with four because of how consistent they have been over the years. I have come here numerous times. I always like to give places plenty of chances just Incase someone had a bad day, bad cook, etc. I am not a very picky person either. Just want my food done right. BUT, every time I come here, the male servers are RUDE! Mess up my food and they don't even fix it either. Very expensive for what we got and the food was bland at best. I like the Mole at this place and the rest of the food is not bad, we have been eating here on a fairly regular basis for at least ten years. Finally the service got so bad I have to mention it in a rating. The service people and manager are minimally friendly at best, service is perfunctory. The last two times we have had problems getting a cheese filled burrito, the first time we told them, the guy argued with us about whether they could put cheese in a burrito and told us we were the problem. We tried to give it one more try, asking for and specifically getting agreement that we could and did order a cheese burrito, again no cheese, the owner first told us that we could not get a cheese burrito, then told us there was cheese in there. The waitress confirmed she told the kitchen to make a cheese burrito and apologized.They did offer us a new one but by the time we were able to get them to the table and then get the waitress she had eaten about half of it, so she told them that was not needed. We asked for a $2 discount since they were charging for meat and we asked for cheese and he told us no. He would have made us a new one but not fix the mistake with a small adjustment. He even accused her of eating it all and trying to get a bargain. This is more than just a one night dissatisfied complaint, it is a totally slide in the way the people treat customers in this restaurant we have watched over the last 2 years and just one night too many for us. Food is not bad, manager is at best arrogant, we observed this for awhile, experienced it the last two times we visited. Unfortunately good food isn't enough when you feel bad about being there. Being a native Oregonian, I get tired of people named Carol from California lamenting about the lack of "authentic Mexican food" here in Oregon. I tend to think that Mexican cooks certainly have a better perspective no matter where they happen to live and share their food. Just had dinner here earlier this evening. I am surprised at the number of 3 star ratings. My husband, who is Mexican, and I decided to give the place a try based on ratings as well as a particular posted photo. I tried the pollo asado (grilled chicken) and my husband ordered his all time fave, chile verde. First of all my pollo asado looked NOTHING like the picture one reviewer posted. The two chicken breasts were paper thin - no exaggeration! There were no grill marks to be had anywhere on the meat. My husband's chile verde, which should be chunks of pork, simmered slowly in a flavorful green chile sauce was simply pathetic. The cubes were about 1/2" and they were floating around in a weak verde sauce...no flavor or heat to them at all. To make matters worse, there were literally 10-12 TINY chunks of meat...enough to fill one of the 4 flour tortillas served with his dish. Oh, and the tortillas were not homemade at all. We live in Milwaukie and eat at Mi Pueblo often - they make the most delicious corn tortillas. The ones served with my pollo were from a grocery store and not very warm or soft. The rice was decent as were the beans but everything felt like it sat in the oven or a microwave because the plate was screaming hot...even by the time we finished the meal and they cleared the table. The salsa they served with a hefty bowl of chips was very good - nice heat to it - sadly that was the best part of the meal. I guess I wouldn't be so critical if they only charged $10 for the plates, but each one was $14.95 - overpriced for the quality/quantity. We will never eat here again. As California natives, we know good Mexican food and my advice is don't bother. read more

We've eaten here a number of times--usually a very positive experience. This evening, the meat was mistakenly left out of a burrito by the cook. We pointed it out to a manager/owner. He acknowledged the mistake, but was not willing to discount the price for their error. We didn't even ask them to re-make the food. We merely asked for a fair price for what we had been served. Highly recommend the crab enchiladas (no fake crap here!!). The kids loved their bean & cheese burritos and we crushed all the pico, guacamole, and sour cream. We done cleaned our plates! El Sol De Mexico in Tualatin is a great authentic Mexican place to eat. The owner/manager is always there greeting you at the door and is extremely friendly. My family loves the chips and salsa before the meal. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious! As a parent from Bridgeport Elementary school, I would like to say, "Thank you for your generous food donation to our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta!" So if you are looking for a simple and tasty Mexican place, then this is your spot.
