I am a native Salvadoran so don't be fooled by the bad reviews from others, I'm a regular customer here because the service and quality of the food are one of the best, the owner makes sure she makes your food to the best quality standards in the food industry sanitation and food poising control certification is required for all cooks per owner's policy. The atmosphere and Interior of the building are distracting making you doubt about what you are getting to eat. But the dishes are made like if your grandmother cooked it. Prices are very low in comparison to others.

Second, no one here seems to speak any English. So using my limited Spanish and the art of pointing at stuff quizzically, I managed to order a hot pastry filled with meat. They also had something that looked like meat stew and tamales I think but who knows. They probably have some delicious stuff in the back too that isn't on display. It was cheap and so damn good! I'll be back to try some other stuff. Cash only!

I had the stew goat, white rice and red beans with a papaya milkshake and 4 leche cake. The food was really welled seasoned and cooked perfectly. The cake was okay, nothing to repurchase though. Staff was super nice. They do offer some tables to eat in, but I took my food to go.

This place can be really cheap if you order the right things -- a Corona is the same price as a lemonade -- but there are also some $20+ items on the menu. As the menu does not contain any printed prices, you would do well to consult (in Spanish) with the wait staff. Likewise, some items are ready-to-go while others will take some time to prepare.

On this last visit I was greeted with a sample and a warm smile. You can tell they go through plenty of chicharron by all the trays they have out. It is nicely seasoned and properly rendered so the meat is not overly fatty and the skin is perfectly crisp and crunchy. One day I will try some of the other foods. But I can say with certainty that the chicharron (fried pork belly) does not disappoint. Go, try, and most importantly, ENJOY!!!

The promise of a small kitchen pumping out delicious tamales, sopes, and tacos is always too much to refuse. Don Moy is a very tiny and cute bodega that spends most of its effort on the kitchen. A couple menus on the wall list the different kinds of sopes, gorditas, and hamburgers, but the kitchen can prepare much more, including everything already mentioned. I went straight for the sope de pollo ($4) which had a very special chicken going for it. Stewed in a medium-spicy sauce, it slowly mixes with the crema to create a perfect pink mess. The tortilla and layer of beans are both thinner than I would prefer, but the meat certainly makes up for this. I would probably get a dish next time that incorporated this chicken in another way, in a taco or gordita. It wants to be the star. The house green sauce is weirdly slimy, and underwhelming to be sure. It can remain unused if all the meats are as good as the chicken. Friendly service is key here, and quality ingredients seem to pervade. Don't expect anything but iceberg lettuce, but that's nothing if not the norm. The grocery is also loaded with snacks that possess interesting flavors not found at any Key Food or Associated.
