I ordered a chicken and rice platter, as I read reviews saying he's got great platters. Takes 20 minutes and the platter comes out and it looks good. A minute later he brings out the chicken on the plastic cover of the container. Just pieces of chicken that felt soft and rubbery. I was not expecting that. I said let me try and I couldn't cut through the rubbery chicken with a plastic fork. It is the first time in my life I took two bites of a meal and tossed it into the garbage. This is a very small place with big halal-ness! I was debating between the hard shell tacos or nachos so I asked the owner or manger which is larger; she suggested the nachos. I only ordered the loaded nachos with mixed meat: chicken, ground beef and steak. The person who made it was very nice and she was extremely generous in all the toppings- especially the cheese and meat. I asked for green sauce as well. My husband and I ate it up so fast because it's difficult to find halal nachos. It was sooo yummy. It would easily feed 4 people as an appetizer or 2 people for lunch. The guy behind the counter (who I assume was the owner) was so nice and friendly so I thought maybe my sister found a hidden gem. Then I sat and watched him prepare our papas locas and nachos. His sleeve kept touching the food while he was reaching for more crap to shovel on each dish. Every time I thought he was done, he would add something else. With his bare hands. I love my sister more than life but I went home starving cause I was NOT putting that in my body. I would probably give this place a zero if I could. I just moved into the neighborhood and googled a few taco places to try. This place came out on the search and after reading a few reviews, I thought it would be ok since most of the reviews seemed decent. I ordered pick up at 8:20 and they said 15-20 min the food would be ready. My boyfriend and I got to the place at 8:41 to pick up the food. My boyfriend who lives in the area, didn't know I was ordering from the restaurant until we drove up. He told me before walking out the car, "I wish you told me it was this place because I would have told you "no". But because I was hungry, I didn't even listen and walked into the place. I told the owner, I had a pick up. He grabbed the plastic bag near him to give me. I didn't see the drinks we ordered in the bag so I mentioned, we also got a Snapple and a water. His response in a hostile, sarcastic voice was "does it look like I can get it all right now? I'm going to get it give me a second." It's my first time trying this place and I figured maybe this man is just having a bad day, so I remained quiet. He then started to make small conversation asking me if I've ever been here before. I responded with telling him how I'm new around the area and how I'm looking for great tacos because it's one of my favorites, even mentioned how I found the place through reviews. He recommended me other dishes to try and I left the place thinking maybe it really is just a bad day for him. I was starving and since I was headed to an event, I decided to eat the food in the car. Took the first bite and my food was cold, the meat was uncooked and it had was extremely distasteful to the point I had to spit it out on a napkin. I immediately call the place to tell them the food was cold and meat was uncooked. The owner responded telling me basically how stupid I am and that the "salad is meant to be cold so it's going to be cold regardless"... with my confusion I told him the meat is uncooked as well and cold. His response was "well you came here past 20 minutes." We were a minute late from picking it up. Instead of offering to fix the situation because the food was disgusting, the owner made it seem like it was my fault for even thinking tacos should be hot. I've had many tacos before... IVE NEVER HAD TACOS BE COLD. Clearly, it wasn't just a bad day for the man, it is just how he is. My boyfriend also shared with me his story of why he no longer goes to this restaurant... it's cause he found long black hair in his food and the owner did the same exact thing, blame it on him and told him he put it in there. My husband and I were eager to try out a halal mexican spot. As potential consumers, we have the right to verify if the food is halal. Mexico isn't a majority Muslim country. As such, just for my own peace of mind, I asked my husband to call and ask. The lady on the phone said the food is 100% halal. When asked if they had a halal certificate, she started raising her voice saying that the food is 100% halal, she doesn't know who the supplier is, we should believe her, if we want to believe her we should come, if not then don't. That was extremely unprofessional. She didn't need to yell and speak with such a nasty attitude over a simple question. She said she's a worker and gave the phone to a man who sounded Pakistani/Desi. I suppose he's the owner. To make matters worse, his level of professionalism was even lower than hers! He went off saying that the food is 100% halal, he doesn't need to show any certifications or tell us where he gets the meat from. He said: "I said the food is halal, so it's halal. If you want to believe me, then believe me, if not, don't come. I don't have time for this bullshit. I get so many calls from crazy people like you. I'm busy and don't have time for this." Then he hung up on me. I really don't understand why someone who claims he constantly has this issue wouldn't just keep a certificate in the store. If you're buying halal meat, it shouldn't be difficult to get a certificate from the supplier. The fact that both the worker and the owner started yelling and getting angry makes us think that perhaps the food isn't halal. We asked for more hot salsa and were given a red sauce, spicy and tasty and a green sauce that was hot and sour. Wow, both of these sauces livened up the food. The restaurant is a stand alone building that could use a good cleaning, but the inside is neat and clean. There are a few parking spots available within the lot, but we had to park on the street. The place had a constant stream of eaters who were picking up and a few who stayed and ate at the restaurants few tables. We will be going back to eat again. read more

The cashier/ manager (KHAN) saw me browsing the menu and did not greet me or really say anything to me. After placing my order he told me I needed to pay right away.
