This place is a very definition of a local Mexican joint and although it's located on a reasonably busy street almost everyone there is from a few miles away. Wide range of Tex-Mex food, including seafood and steaks with plenty of people watching soccer on the TV in one room or a nice quiet dining in the other I usually get takeout and as you can see by the attached photos, they don't short you on volume.

It is your average neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant. Plenty of space for get together. Prices and portions are up to par with other neighboring restaurants. Food taste is bland, which may be good for some people who may like that taste. May return to taste other expanded entrees that may be their specialty.

One of the best Mexican restaurants on the north side of Houston. Prices are reasonable, service friendly and quick. Fajitas are great!

The OG! It keeps getting better and better. Oh and did I mention Pain Killers. If you are looking to unwind and enjoy the day, look no further. Kind of a weird setup though, because the bartender told me I could only use the $20 gift card if I was paying with a gift card... which felt a bit off, but whatever. Overall, this place was just okay. I get the feeling the boils might be the star of the show here, so I'll probably come back to give those a try. I ordered the sampler with fried green tomatoes, boudin balls, and stuffed jalapeños. The flavors were there, but the boudin balls were a little too salty. For my main, I went with the etouffee and asked for both shrimp and crawfish. It was flavorful, with a solid dark roux that I liked. I sat at the bar, and Crystal was my server. She was super friendly but admitted it was her first time making the Bloody Orange Lemon Drop. I gave her a couple of pointers for the second round, and she nailed it - so props for that! In the end, the experience was just fine. Not bad, not amazing. I'll probably come back to try the boils, but for now, it's a solid 3 stars.

We also ordered the Texas Mini Plate, which came with two catfish fillets, three shrimps, and fries. The portions were great and the prices are very affordable! Unfortunately, I noticed a big change this time around. The breading on both the fish and shrimp tasted different--much saltier and kind of overpowered the flavor. Not sure if the recipe has changed, but I personally prefer the original breading. That light, well-seasoned coating was part of what made me keep coming back over the years. Hoping this was just an off day or that the original recipe makes a comeback soon

We ordered: - Fried Calamari - Fried Seafood Platter | Fried flounder, deviled crab, baby shrimp, fried oysters, jumbo shrimp The fried calamari was actually very good. The batter was light, crispy, and perfectly salted. The fried seafood platter was very lackluster. Unlike the calamari, the batter was soggy. I had the lump crab cake, the gumbo and the Caesar salad last night and the wild caught snapper with butternut squash and broccolini today with both meals being paired with a couple tequila lemon drops (recommended and made by the manager, Stephen). No joke, everything I had was a 10 outta 10- no complaints!! The service was top tier! My bartenders Maurice, Taylor and Deja were a great team and kept me satisfied my entire visit. The Saturday night vibe vs the Sunday afternoon vibe is night and day with the church crowd dominating the place on Sunday but both visits left nothing to be desired. The prices were well worth the portions and the quality of food I received and I'll definitely be back to this location whenever I visit. If I could make any recommendations it would simply be to not allow kids to sit at the bar but I know it's not illegal lol.
