I got a carna Asda burrito modified to only certain things also did wet style green salsa, it was not good salty!!! I ate the meat by itself salty tried the salsa by itself it's ok there was hardly any beans. My husband got carna Asda fries found a long ass hair as soon as i opened the container, it was also missing guacamole / sour cream. First time here. This is one of those places that you have to know exists to find. It is nestled next to the gas station right off of the freeway. Cool little spot inside a gas station . Amazing food and salsa bar with fresh chips made daily . Definitely a must if you are in the area .

So to start off this place is located in the same gas station area as the Jack in the Box near the 10 freeway and pepper exit. Once you walk in It's a Small location with three booths that would hold about a total of 12 maybe 15 people. They have a salsa bar which I always enjoy because I hate asking for more salsa if I run out. That's also bar has limes cucumbers pickled carrots and jalapenos and four different types of sauces. As I approached the counter I noticed that one of the TV screens was off. The other two TV screens had a limited portion of the menu. I had to ask a lot of questions because not everything was on display. They did have some paper menus but it only advertised the weekly special and the and the happy hour that wasn't available. As of March 2025 they still haven't got their liquor license so we're unable to sell the alcohol that they advertise. At this point I decided to order a variety of tacos. I got two beef hard shell tacos that were a 10 out of 10. The shell was nice and crunchy from the frying and the beef was full of flavor with cheese diced tomatoes inside and Mexican sour cream on the side. I also ordered three soft tacos. They were larger than your street tacos which was nice but they're about $3 each so you do get your money's worth. The asada taco and the lengua taco were worth the money. They were flavorful well seasoned and the lengua was very soft and well seasoned. The one disappointment that I did have was the pastor taco. You could tell that it wasn't cooked on a trompo. It lacked flavor and the chard flavor and texture. I would give this taco a three out of 10. The cashier was nice and the food was good except for that one taco. The place was very cleanly and well decorated for a small location. I will be coming back once they get their liquor license so I could try the rest of their menu. read more

Been ordering from El Rey for a few months. I usually place large orders $100+. On 10/10/25 In the afternoon I placed an order. A lot of the items had carne asada. The carne asad the used was full of cartridge about 60% of the "Carne asada" was uneatable, unchewable cartridge. I assume they wanted to make more profit and went with cheap cartridge that had some meat on it. Never again. F*** this place and the greedy ass owner. read more

It was super tasteful, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful, I didn't try the salsas but I will next time! I just ordered from El Rey Express Mexican Grill. The restaurant is next to a gas station and the interior is clean and welcoming. The cashier that took my order was very accommodating and she let me try the guacamole and coffee before I ordered. I must say this is one of the best Machaca Breakfast Burrito I have ever tasted every bite is tasty and full of meat. Their chip and guacamole dip is also delicious with the right amount of spice. I also ordered a taco de Beria for my daughter to try. I'm sure she will enjoy it. We live nearby and the Birria Ramen poster is what brought us to this place, we sadly didn't try it on our visit, we had the Tacos a La Plancha and A Birria de Res burrito. Both items were delicious! I highly recommend if you're craving Birria and prefer Birria de res over the traditional Birria. They have a very great Salsa bar! We tried all that were available and each one is delicious. At first glance, I was a little apprehensive of the quality of food we could expect but- This place was awesome!! It's connected to the gas station but rest assured, it was very clean inside. They serve breakfast 10am-2pm so my husband and I got breakfast burritos, 1 carne asada and 1 chorizo. We realized when our food came that could have shared a burrito and be content, they're good sized! Really great flavors and the carne wasn't too tough or fatty. My husband's chorizo burrito was pretty oily but that's to be expected!! He ate it until it was too grease soaked but then just packed up the filling and threw away the tortilla. Speaking of tortillas, they were very fresh and soft!! And the chips and salsa bar!! Yummm. We also got a piña con naranja agua fresca that was very tasty and helped balance the spice from the salsas. Will definitely be coming back for more! read more

Pretty good for a "fast food" type of place. Cozy little spot. Staff is friendly and food was tasty. Salsas are good as well. We had the birria taco a la plancha and a quesabirria taco. The birria is really tasty and the meat is tender and juicy (how some other places manage to make birria dry, which is basically a stewed meat, baffles me) and very tasty. Flavors were on point and the tortilla was nice and crispy without being overly greasy. The quesabirria was just as delicious with the cheese adding another layer of flavor without taking over the entire flavor profile. Too much cheese can indeed be a bad thing as I've experienced at other places. Not here enough cheese to know it's there and complement the flavors without washing them out. Tacos al pastor were good, I'd like to taste just a little more of the marinade/seasoning. Otherwise well cooked pork, crispy tortilla for a little extra bite and like I said before the salsas are good and pay respect to the meat you're putting them on. Torta de carne asada was delicious, Tortas always get extra love from me if they are done right. This place does them right. In my opinion all tortas should be done on a telera style roll like this place does. The roll was soft, fresh, very light and held up well to all the toppings. We got it with everything, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, guac and beans, carne asada was the protein. Everything was good and meshed well in this torta. Would definitely come here to satisfy my after work torta cravings, yes I am a torta guy. Aguas frescas. They have a variety of aguas frescas which we were offered a sample of. Not sure if that's the norm or just because it wasn't very busy when we happened to stop by. I had my eye set on the watermelon lemonade which I decided on after sampling. My wife asked about the pineapple water and the pineapple orange water. We sampled both and immediately became torn between the 3 flavors we sampled. They were all refreshing and delicious and we were told they use only fresh fruit, water and sugar. No syrup of any kind is used. Ultimately watermelon lemonade it was since it was our original choice and first sample. All in all this is a good place to stop by and get a quick bite to eat. They also have a good variety of Mexican sodas. I look forward to trying other dishes and proteins. They also serve breakfast which I'd like to try at some point. read more

Very disappointed with my experience today. I ordered the rib eye tacos. For $21 for 3 tacos, I expect them to put all the ingredients in the taco. I literally got tough chewy meat, avocado and cilantro in a Luke warm tortilla. No grilled onion, no jalapeño, that's listed on the menu description. We were literally the only people in the restaurant at the time, so there is no excuse for screwing up our order. I didn't even end up eating the rest of the tacos. Waste of money. read more

I ordered a carne asada burrito which is on the pricier end at $14. The burrito was dripping in grease when opened from the wrapper. When eating the burrito all I could taste was the grease. I'm usually not too picky when it comes to tacos/burritos but I unfortunately could not eat more than a few bites. Green salsa is good though. read more
