Huevos con chorizo

I'm from East LA ( I'm the one who brought the guero). The food here is what I grew up with. The Mexican coffee is to die for! Chilaquiles were excellent! Salsa flight was spicier than I remember. Service was great. As the morning went on, every table was packed! Lots of families. Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Omaha.

The food here is pretty good! Came here with a wonderful UNO team. The service was amazing! The server was very tentative. I had the four carne asada tacos and they were perfect. I was surprised to eat them all as I was stating to fill up on the chips and salsa. Def will come back again

They have new hours. Closed Monday evenings now. Bummer. They do have Happy Hour Specials from 4-6 pm

Really great, authentic Mexican food. I ordered via DoorDash recently and the food traveled well, especially considering it was a bit far (10+ miles). We tried some different items this time and it was all really good. The ceviche was really good. The Gordita has tons of meat. Service through DoorDash was great - easy ordering and quick delivery.

Been here 2-3 times every week. I was from Cali BTW. I'm very picky about the food taste (I was spoiled from California food). I had tried out a lot Mexican restaurants around the area. I would recommend this place. If any restaurants I don't like, I would not come back there again. Hands down. Food here is pretty decent. First I like how they set you up with sauces and chips when you sit. The taste is 8/10 compared to California Mexican food. Service is 10/10 Atmosphere is 9/10 I'd say it's hard to find a good Mexican food in Nebraska but this one is standout from 10 restaurants I've tried in Nebraska. Give it a try.

Love this place! First, they bring you a delicious salsa flight with chips! All are unique and fun to try! Meals here are priced affordable and match the portions. Our waitress was very friendly and even offered some of her favorite dishes on the menu. It's a small little spot, booths and some tables. Get there early as seating might be hard to find in a dinner rush! Would definitely recommend! Enchiladas are amazing!!!

This place is the bombdotcom! I have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant to be able to sit in and this is it! They brought us an assortment of salsa which are all fireee. And on top of that my torta was amazing! Great service and the staff were nice. Will definitely be coming back.

5 salsas and pickled veggies with chips are complimentary when you sit down

Stopped by El Rancho in South Omaha for a weekday lunch. When you walk in, I'm not sure if you are supposed to stand at the entrance or walk to the bar to be seated. One of the best things at El Rancho is that when you are seated, you gets free chips and a selection of five (5) different salsas to choose from along with some grilled/roasted veggies (jalapenos) to start things off. Menu is fairly diverse with multiple items to choose from. I went with a cheese enchilada and several street tacos. Tried beef and chorizo. Food came out pretty quickly. Enchilada was lukewarm and not very flavorful. Chorizo taco was dull with very little taste and the beef taco had very little meat on it and had been overcooked. Definitely not the best Mexican food I have had in Omaha. Maybe it was an off day, but there are a number of other better restaurants that I would prefer to eat at in the future

Can't get enough of their orange salsa

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

The food is chefs kiss! I had green enchiladas that you could mix and match so I had chicken and cheese. It came with rice and beans as well. It was so much food! Our waitress even took my kids to the topping bar for me so I could stay enjoying my meal. They also have a shaker margarita that was BOMMB!! Waitstaff was pretty busy and that explained the wait to order and lack of utensils after the food arrived. I tried the fajitas Texana after reading reviews and found that they were pretty bland and served with grocery style tortillas (likely made with stabilizers to give it a spongy feel). My son was pleased with his Cuban Torta and my husband liked the carnitas. The biggest plus was the serving size of every dish was enough for 2 meals for most people. I'd go back again but try something different.

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

The tacos I had were very warm and very filling, I was able to take some home for lunch the next day. The Cantarita was ok, seemed like it wasn't something that is usually made and it seemed more like it came in a bowl than the typical dish ware. The servers were very friendly and was able to help out when we had questions. The place itself was very well decorated and didn't seem cluttered. They have a lot of metallic art so that was pretty cool.

The place is very large and open, so you don't feel like you're walking on top of others and can have conversations without feeling like you need to yell to be heard or whisper to not be overheard. Their chips and salsa were delicious. Salsa is house made and the chips are fried to order. You get a first basket for free, but the second we had to pay for- be aware. Their tacos are amazing. I had three street tacos and then two basic hard and soft tacos. I started with the basics, and was very impressed. The meat was nice and flavorful and somehow seemed....soft? I was initially bummed looking at them because I thought "just lettuce and meat?" But there's some fantastic cheese hidden under the lettuce. The shells were the perfect soft and a crunch. I would love to just have a few of these for the meal and be good! I had the three street tacos- steak, pastor, and carnitas. I was pleased with all three! They were flavorful, moist, and the shells were once again perfect. I very much enjoyed the steak and they had just the right amount of crisp with all of the flavor. When we got the bill, it's noted that there's a discount if you pay with cash, but no added fee for paying with a card; so keep that in mind.
